I went back to it as an adult with fighting game experience and it definitely isn't any good lol.

As a game store employee who's mad about the current market: you're really right about retro games. At this point the honest stores like mine are trapped in a cycle where resalers raise the price on games so high, and we have to pay so much for them, that we can usually only sell those games to other resalers. It's a goddamn Ponzi scheme I'm trapped in and I'm glad at least some people acknowledge it.
46:39 I'm a Clayfighter demon on Bad Mr. Frosty for the first 2 games and Houngan on the 2 n64 games plus clayfighter has some funny bits of depth unironically like there's high/low parries like 3S and characters having varying levels of hitstun they receive which notably gives one of the characters a hard time due to taking some odd like 30 extra frames which opens them up to universal infinites
I look at the channel Chaqn2 for my daily dose of old fighting games. It has lots of strong players on it for the vast majority of games. Might be a channel for you to check out for another Let's Watch video
I look into a lot of old bad fighting games for kusogrande, the bad video game tournament. It's a shame a lot of them are just really boring, like Brutal Paws of Fury. So when you find a really wack game with interesting mechanics I really treasure it. I still think Karnov's Revenge is sick.
One of the very fun features of ClayFighter for the SNES is when Blob hits you with his buzzsaw attack, it does more damage if you block it. Also, the N64 ClayFighter games were pretty horrible, not to mention racist. Oh, so racist.
That was my strat. IIRC Error1's USF4 modded edition had some char with an attack that did like 10 damage and 100 chip, might have been one of the versions of blanka ball or something.
@@Bafael The Tournament Edition of ClayFighter fixed that, I think, though I've never played that version or T2: Judgement Clay. Really, the titles are way better than the games deserve
