I have an LG machine. I have a reminder set in my iPhone app to do this once a month. I empty the water through the drain hose into a shallow container. I remove the drain filter and ensure it is clean and free of objects. I wipe out the filter enclosure before putting the filter in. Only takes a few minutes but well worth the time and effort to avoid problems such as shown in the video.
I'm sure glad you posed this video , ME and my parents want to say THANK YOU, , I watched your video , and i went to tell my parents, i did exactly what you did , and yes they had the same issue, 2 big dogs and a cat and My mom washes their beds, i drained the water and the filter was full of fur, thanks to you their washer is working again, they were getting ready to call the maintence guy also, which my parents could not afford right now , THANK YOU, THANK YOU from all of us, GOD BLESS YOU
Hello thank you i just followed your instructions and got my washing machine spinning again . That saved me a load of money and turned out to be an easy fix . So once again thank you 😊
Thank you. God bless. Single mom here and needed the explanation. Looks like after I cleared this filter the machine is working again. I had a penny and lots of lint
Thank you for your instructions. I thought I would have to take it to the shop and spend $125+ for something so simple. In my case, I have no pets but was unaware of the trap and the little drainage hose. Appreciate you!!!
I want to thank you for saving me money… I had the exact same problem with the same machine and I followed your instructions to the letter including unplugging the machine before I started working… Great idea I’m not sure I would’ve thought of that… It was relatively easy and I really appreciate your very very clear instructions… Have a wonderful holiday season
We have had ours for 4 years now and the drain motor just finally went out. Only other issues are dryer filter getting clogged. Both machines have been reliable. This repair was super easy. 54 dollar motor. Figured i saved us 3 to 4 hundred in tech repairs.
Shoot! There's a filter? 😬 I've done the washing machine equivalent of running about 50 Baja 1,000s without changing the filters! I'll tell you know, LG has earned my business! And thank you brother for the video! That title saved my butt! I was about to order a pump!
No need to unplug. This is a normal maintenance procedure that should be done on a routine basis. Also when you get the OE, use a shop vac on the waste water line to ensure no partial or full clogs especially with pets. That filter doesnt stop everything. Lastly ensure the plumbing drain is flowing well by pouring water into it.
I clean mine every month, drain, clean the filter, run a drum cycle with specific cleaner, and then run another normal cycle with a cleaner. How are you using the shop vac?
Thank youuuu! I am going to try this. I feel like the pump is working but the line is clogged somewhere. I used a shopvac on a clogged A/C drain line so I don't know why I didn't think of this! 🤦♀️
I heard the pump working and rattling around at the beginning of the cycle and nothing happening, poor thing was trying hard but the filter was clogged (not as bad as yours) and not letting the water drain out. I took the filter out (which also allowed the water to pour out), found a small lego in the filter, cleaned the filter of the lint, put it back in place and started the washer, works like new! Thank you!!
Thank you!!!! Iused my shop vac to pull out any further stuff from the large hole after removing the filter. It also had about a gallon of water that drained out of the small tube. It actually states on that little lid to do this once a month! I have had this machine for six years and this is the first time having to do this. Thank you!
Thank You ! Thank You! Thank You ! I fixed our machine !!!!!!! 💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽 our machine has been saying OE for months and we thought we would have to call a repair man. No more laundry mat !
This was exactly the fix, thank you so much for posting this video. We also have hairy dogs and the hairball in the filter was amazing. Again, thank you!
Yo I just wanted to let you know you win the internet today! This just saved me from having to call my landlord or possibly pay to have something fixed. Thanks my guy!
Thank U Sir 4 the Video, My Washer showed "OE" also N I had so many lil problems with my Washer, but after watching Ur Video N saw that Filter Cleaning, I Cleaned my Filter N now my Washer Works Like New. My LG Washer N Dryer R 16yrs Old N They Still Work Like New... :●)
I was having the same issue thank you so much after I watched your video I tried the filter and yes it was clogged up also the drain hose was clogged up with old dirt I had to take pretty much the whole front of the washer to get to the drain hose it was a pain in the butt but after couple hours I was done and is working fine again 👍 thank you so much you save me couple hundreds dollar's 👏 god bless
I have washer/dryer 2in1 18kg. Its gets a tub cleaner cycle and a regular run cycle with specific cleaner every month. We wipe out the ring and dispenser after every wash and dry. Lint builds up fast in that little filter.
Yep like he said, he should have read the manual. There's a whole clean cycle in addition to cleaning that filter you all will want to read about. There's even a water inlet filter you will want to check (easy to do). You'd be surprised what you find in manuals sometimes. For the people that don't read manuals, start with your car manual. Guarantee you'll find something important you didn't know about.
I clean out my filter every month, and never find anything. Drain pump finally failed after 12 years of use. I replaced the pump myself, and drains like it was new.
Make sure you have a bucket to catch the water in. Mine dumped about a quart of water on the flower. I replaced my drain pump about 2 years ago, and now the replacement pump is chattering again.
My washer is not draining through the small hose in the front where the filter is the water just gushes out through the filter once I opened it and the filter is not clogged at all, I think it’s the hose that runs from the back and drains out there I looked down in it and it has all kinds of dog hair and stuff in it, we raise Belgium, Malamas so you can only imagine the hair and stuff. Could I be correct about this and if so how do I get the hose completely out of the back of the washer???
what you can do is put the machine in service mode and then run throught the setting modes until you get to pump and it will pump the water out the pump is going out replace the pump
I'm going to guess this is my problem. HA! I was a single mother, and I built a wing on the house turning a 100-year-old 2 bedroom house into a 3 bedroom house and adding a half bath. Mommy's work is never done either! And do you think my son-the-scientist could give his mother a call now and then? I built his room from scratch, and this is the thanks I get.
The washer broke within 2 months of getting it. It washes blankets, towels, rags, and dog toys for a puppy store kennel area. Helping my friend figure out a way to diy fix the washing machine. It wont drain sos
If OE error comes up you will probably have to replace the pump. I’m waiting for my replacement pump to show up now. RU-vid has good videos on how to change it out. Good luck!
Interestingly i bought and fitted a new pump to my WM14225FD LG machine and payed close attention to a few cycles to check everything in order then and only then i decided to watch how to do the job on youtube.
Thank you so much for this tutorial.... same thing to happen to ours I live with my parents my dad was already asleep so I took care of it myself and it worked like a charm God bless ya
Sorry, but there is too much talking and not enough working 😮 but for the most part, you did somewhat cover your job. Won't hurt to redo with less conversation, 😌 Sorry
How do you remove the filter? I turned the lid and kept turning, and the lid just came off.. I'm trying half turns and then pulling, but it's not coming out..
yeah, that would be bad..you can probably get an idea of how much water is in it by looking at level in the tub. if the water level is up a bit in the tub like mine, that's a lot of water, might be worth trying to siphon out. wonder if lint or other stuff is clogging the drain tube? if you don't see standing water, there may not be that much
@@workingdadThanks so much for your time!!! Yeah, there's a load that I ran yesterday, it's saturated, so hard to tell! It's 3rd time I got message, I tried just a steam fresh, too. Thanks again! It's a newer model, & I have the washer on the floor, with dryer on top in tight quarters, I need my Daddy, lol! (He's in Heaven now) thanks again for your help, I'll be calling a handyman!!!)
🤔Currently having the same issue. Did this fix your problem completely? I have done this(mine was clean) also. I have cleaned the inlets, but still getting an error "OE" and the water still sits in the tub. Any advice on what else to do?
yes, luckily for me it resolved entirely and the pump is still good this many years later. I clean filter now every two months. Only other thoughts I have are maybe it's clogged further up in a line/hose or passage, or the pump is bad on yours
I was having the same issue thank you so much after I watched your video I tried the filter and yes it was clogged up also the drain hose was clogged up with old dirt I had to take pretty much the whole front of the washer to get to the drain hose it was a pain in the butt but after couple hours I was done and is working fine again 👍 thank you so much you save me couple hundreds dollar's 👏 god bless
model number on tag is WM3370HRA. Bought new in spring of either 2015 or maybe 2014..leaning towards 2015 but not entirely sure. from what I can tell the basic design hasn't changed much
Yeah three years and it won’t drain. Grinding noise. No agitation. But if you haven’t cleaned the filter in three years maybe I should make a video for you....
OMG. I just lost 5 min of my life listening to narrative. Dude next time get to the point. You could of done a better video by going directly to the issue.
Bro no one is clicking on this video to listen to your life story about problematic Samsung products or your dogs. 99% of the people clicking on this, are probably leaning on their non draining washer machine wanting to fix it and get on with their lives.... you probably probably have issues with being on time to work and life events often huh?
You're right, it's completely user error and your fault for not reading the owner's manual for a product you were obviously ignorant to using. BTW, please don't pretend to speak for Americans with this level of ignorance. Some of us favor education while others are too lazy for things like due diligence.
@@devencook5355 No, he was not. If anything, he was trying to justify his own stupidity (which is far different than mere ignorance). I hope you understand the difference between ignorance and stupidity either by today or some day in the near future. I'm American and ashamed by his declaration in this upload. You ought to be too, imo.
