08:43 "Her mother's an alky, you know that" Christopher demonstrates deep compassion and non-judgmentalism for addiction issues. The kindness and patience that he always wanted others to extend to himself.
manhandling her mom in front of her and yelling at her to go in the other room, then following it up with "i wanna marry you" is so peak christopher it hurts. and then somehow ade is like "omg really 🥺". this fuckin guy beat her, stole from her, cheated on her. she's one of the sadder characters in the show. just a kid caught up in a storm of psychopathy
Dont act like she didnt put herself in the situation. She loved the lifestyle and all the gifts Christopher got her that she knew came from blood money. Just a younger Carmella, probably why they got on so well
@@nonytknocker Plus, she knew she was in the mob, and was so excited for when Christopher got made. She immediately thought about all the things she could buy. But, she was also abused and beaten, and that really does mess with you. The cycle of violence - he beats the shit out of you one day, and the next day he's all nice, being so kind, doting on her, and promising it was a one time thing and he was sorry, it won't happen again. All in all, she should have listened to her mother.
Liz is one of those Soprano characters I wish we had gotten more of, sister to Jackie Sr and Ritchie. I would love to have seen or gotten an idea of how it was like growing up with them, how she felt about them? what it was like for Ade etc. Since we only see Liz interacting with her daughter, Chris and Carmela one time each before we see her try to kill herself.
Pus(s), Ritchie, Jimmy, Jackie Jr., Ralph, Vito, Ade, all close friends of the Sopranos, that mysteriously disappeared. Yet Carmela can't see the writing on the wall?
Carmella knew about Ritchie. Tony told her in so many words. He said he's gone and Don't make me make you a an accessory after the fact. Stop asking. Then Carmella says wow that definitely wasn't a marriage made in heaven. Also with Sal he was on the run before he came back in season 2 so Carmella could've just thought he left Angie again
Yeah I mean there's definitely a lot of willful ignorance there. But Tony also used the witness protection program as an excuse. Or in the case of Jackie Junior, a couple of black guys. Ultimately, if Carmela were to think too hard on it, her entire cushy life would come crashing down. As shown in the scene where she goes to therapy, she prefers to keep the moral blinders on.
Christopher disrespecting and hurting Liz in her on home , and using THAT as an opportunity to propose to her daughter let us know exactly who he was and how this relationship would go; I never understood why Ad didn't react more to that. I think the first time Chris hurts Ad she rubs her wrist after as well and Liz is dressed just like her daughter. "When you get hurt again, this door is closed to you." That line probably haunted her forever. All through the series the guys consider themselves honorable because "you don't touch the family, wife, kids" but the show constantly demonstrates this is a lie. The kids are orphaned/tramatized/corrupted. The mother's have loved ones ripped away and in Liz's case everyone acts like you are crazy when they all are somehow involved. Angie was the exception, she was better off and happier without Sal and went from asking for a handout to putting money on the street. (Do the Angie story next *wink wink*)
Soprano heads know Tony had Sil wack Adriana for "talking" with feds. Never have and never will like this story arc. I think the writers got so caught up with the actor's beauty that it was assumed that Adriana didn't have a brain. The moment Danielle exposed herself as fed the very next words of Adriana's mouth should have been, still to this very day, "I want my lawyer". In real life those words would stopped them in their tracks. They (feds) work to entrap Adriana with cocaine found/sold at Crazy Horse. Can't remember who, somebody was also wacked at the club. She should have went straight Shaggy "I don't know what you talkin' 'bout, ain't got nothin' to do with me" while lawyered up for the coke charge, was technically civilian, had no record and would have served little to no time for the blow while lawyered up against feds saving her life. Though fiction, I feel for Liz La Cerva. A mother knows her child's being and Liz knows her child is deceased. Carmella tries to act stupid with Liz because of Liz' past alcoholism. Carmella is just as much garbage as Tony is. Carmella has laid down with this man for, say 20-25 years, and knows exactly what and who he is and chooses denial. She makes me sick, so does Tony. As with Ralphie, and others, Tony has it coming. (As much as I love JG's swag, lol) (My theory is Paulie had Patsy kill Tony). Meadow becomes defense attorney for NY LCN, Angie Bumpensiero sp, becomes Don of DiMeo crew. Ironic.
John Sacramonne or Sacramoni set the wheels in motion for the hit on Tony. Paulie wanted to change to NY crew anyway (though John was gate keeper to Carmine who didn't know who Paulie was in initial meeting, lol) and, more than likely, John said that's cool, now "do this" as initiation (like any street gang) into NY crews. Long deceased, many folk wanted vengeance on Tony but I believe John contracted this hit. We don't know what the terms of the hit were, so that's a whole 'nother level of speculation. John had Paulie (then Paulie having Patsy) hit Tony. That's what I believe. We'll see if folk create a new series and if folk have more speculation, which I'm sure there are, here's the opportunity, lol. Meadow is not a defense attorney for NY LCN, she is now the people's civil rights attorney and is making a legitimate living, this is what Tony wanted for her. She changed her thinking after seeing her father assassinated in front of her and other family members and, now, advocates for more difficult cases for everyday folks and some celebrities. She builds a name for herself for the good. That's what Tony wanted for his daughter, a legitimate life, and though fiction, I want to honor that for him. Rest well my brotha. @@ceerious There are times I have to comment 2-3 times for it to stick. There are certain words automatically flagged on here - even harmless ones. On this one, I curbed the language. If I did it any more, it wouldn't even look like a quote at all. I can guess what the word they censored was, so I guess I'll have to remember that one too. So, next time sir.
What did Carmella expect from that line of questioning when the answer would be if she got whacked and Tony didn't punish Christopher meant she was either a rat(which she was) or did something else that jeopardized the family. This is why Tony couldn't stand her at times. For as smart as she can be, she sure was a stupid when it came to the life they were leading.
