Logitech X52 HOTAS - Unboxing and Setup 

I purchased this same hardware last night. It hasn't come in the mail as of yet. Seeing you unbox it made me so glad I chose this as my first gaming controller. I am new to all of this and have been amazed by all the particulars. I did purchase the DOFReality P6 as my simulator and can hardly wait to build everything. Thanks for your video. Cheers.

Just ordered my X52. So excited for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020!

I bought my Saitek(as was) X52 Pro 6 years ago when Elite Dangerous came out and it's still going strong, coupled with Voice Attack it makes flying so much easier than using a keyboard & mouse.

Bought mine 10 years ago. Still works perfectly as it did when I first got it. I only use it for Elite Dangerous and Microsoft Flight Simulators, but it works exceedingly well for both as well as whatever other games you program it for I'm sure.

I am so happy! it took me months to figure how to use my slight stick and you just showed me how. Thank you sooo much 😁😁

Logitech bought Saitek, that's why many of Logitech's gaming stuff is sometimes labled as Saitek, since most of Logitech's current gaming equipment is actually originally Saitek's equipment: Saitek Cyborg series of keyboards was eventually renamed into Logitech G series keyboards. Saitek X52 was eventually renamed Logitech G X52 HOTAS. etc. etc. the X52 actually first came out in the mid 2000's as Saitek's first "modern" flight control joystick.

How in the hell did you get your software to work? Mine tells me to restart my computer after installation and accepting the T's & C's but after restart there is nothing to be found.

I'm stoked! I bought one off eBay this weekend. Spent too much for it. Between the new Microsoft flight Sim and SW Squadrons releasing, there is a shortage on the market. My excuse is that I will finally start playing around on Star Citizen as well. I have a handful of games I can use it on.

My x52 stick is not responding to anything I do. The lights is flashing like crazy and I seriously think I developed eplepsy. Anyone have a solution?

Since this video, have you seen any looseness of the buttons? One video review I saw said their spring on the joystick rusted but looks like they have chrome-plated it now. I get mine tomorrow. Holy frig! That's a beast... I wonder if a higher chair position with a footrest would be less of a a headache than a whole new desk? But then your mouse and keyboard would be uncomforatbly low.... aaah the domino effect of new gear... ;) It made me think, watching you fly around, that if space agencies COULD make a ship that moved as fast as you could swipe a mouse round... that would probably become the standard control for space flight and combat - those flying stick would be anhiliated! As far as I know you've never been particularly fussed about real world flight sims, but perhaps watching you hurtle screaming to the ground in an airbus once a month could make a fun series...

im struggling to get this software to work. I downloaded the exe and ran it, then restarted my computer as it requests, but it does not seem to show up upon restarting. Any suggestions?

Logitech bought saitek so its basically the same stick just re branded. Not sure if its any better or worse or about the software since I never had the seitek version. I can tell you I wasn't overly impressed with out of the box for 150 bucks.

(Before I watch the video) Daym, that peripheral's HOT ASS! Seriously, why do people not make that pun more? (3 Minutes later) ^_^ Great minds... Remember back in the day I had a microsoft force feedback joystick, playing stuff like x-wing alliance, episode 1 podracer, back in the day was an absolutely joy. This looks amazing mate. Super tactile!

Whtas the game called?

That stick is very similar to the $20 ST290. Visually, not very similar, but that's just some different plastic molds. The open spring mount is the big give away. The ST290 was an incredible stick for $20. It's too bad Saitek doesn't make a good low end stick anymore.

Fun Fact: The throttle was used as the gear shift of the Mach 6 for the movie Speed Racer.

Finally was able to secure the pro model at retail cost. Wonder what’s the differences between the two

there was a version 213 at 12:38 but at 12:46 you installed the version 132. from the en-au site there is a v213 (x86) and a v213 (x64) - is there not the same for you? and the en-au site does not mark the versions clearly on the webpage. you have to hover over or download each one to see that it is x86 or x64. if you had not mentioned it then I would not have known there were different software and drivers for 32/64bit ! thank you ! ! !

oh god you hit me in the nostalgia! SWG you died too young! although too old with the NGE -hisss- I really wish we could play prior to the Nerfed Game Engine again... oh old days, still love the devs for reverse engineering and allowing this to be alive once more. THE best mmorpg, it was so sad when KOTORO came along and killed it.

Logitech have taken over saitek which is why they are too brands👍 I have the same but had a couple of minor probs with logitechs software.

This think came out before the very first iphone.

Damn can't install the software. It keeps requiring me to restart (I assume standard practice) except after restart nothing happens. I wait, nothing. I look for any software, no new files relating to the joystick. Logitech has always sucked in my opinion. GHUB certainly has my burning hatred.

I owned this hotas and the th 16000 and virpil, this hotas is a hot mess, it's software is aswell, it's usb chain and power draw is horrible, I think a large part of the problem is these controllers are a conglomeration of the efforts of 3 different companies, saitek, madcatz and logitech, it is a fancy version of a very old design that was very software dependent, normally anything branded logitech is pretty solid but this is one of those exceptions anyway I ended up giving it away to one of my friends after I made him promise me to never ask me for help in trying to set it up, the th 16000 is a much better value with actual funtionality and true hall effect sensors, you need to try one out at least, i know it looks cheap and wonky but at the end of the day you want peripherals that work and work well, and are easy to set up plus the analog stick on the throttle position and perfromance is awesome....if you have the money virpil is the porn of hotas controllers.

If no one ever said, Logitech bought Saitek which is why there is some confusion.

*I have the X-52 PRO that still works after 15 years of hard use. Only real difference between the Pro and yours ... Is nothing really. Those 2 Holes in the tops of both bases are for mounting to a surface with screws. Keeps the controllers from sliding around much better than the suction cups do. I map buttons on the Throttle for Map, Trim, etc. And the Stick for Shoot (2 stage Trigger can be set to shoot primary on first/half pull, and Alpha strike all weapons on full pull. Plus Weapon select, views, targeting and so on. Also on the stick, you can adjust the Pinky Trigger height with that knob on the back of the stick*

That's the Saitek, not the Logitech. The Saitek is less quality and not as tight as the Logitech.

None of the software I have found on the support has any software for setting up buttons. Where did you find this. You skipped that entire step in your video.
