Low Curb Shower installation, Not quite Curbless

In this video I go through the installation process of a shower with a very low curb, the thickness of the sill " I also show a quick method of setting up screeds for the mud floor of this shower. The shower floor area of the shower was depressed by the GC so as to have the level of the mud even with the uncoupling membrane height of the main floor. In this way the curb could be set directly on the transition of the two areas. This is essentially how a curbless shower is constructed, however in this case the the curb acts as a low barrier to contain water, but still gives very easy access to the shower. The wall tile has alternating rows of longer and shorter ceramic subway tiles to give a unique look to this shower. The shower floor is a small mosaic hexagon tile and the main floor is an 8x8 encaustic tile. Shower system is Schluter systems. All tile installed by Sal DiBlasi, Elite-tile Company, in the Boston North Shore area.
