Great video. Straight to the point with meanful tips. Debating on doing the 2in springs vs the 3in I-Beam cause spring is way easier.
@MRE_Motorsports

Springs are easier but the beams have better geometry.

I went with a 8.8 from a 96 explorer in my 97 ranger. Used the explorer leafs. Junkyarded a 2nd driver side shock mount to be installed on the passenger side. Grabbed 2 caliper flex lines from a sport Trac. Cut and double flared the brake lines and bolted down the flexes to the axle. And lastly installed 2" lift shackles.

Did the explorer rear end up much wider than the stuck 1? I've got a 5.0 in my 93 splash running the stock rear but I'm going to LS turbo it and probably put an explorer rear in it

Explorer rear axle is wider. I’ve actually got another ranger build in the works that we will be documenting soon!

When I put my drop beams on it (same as yours) was a nightmare (getting the stock stuff out). Everything fought me on the way out. I had to get all new bolts because they all were ruined trying to get them out or torched/cut. I wanted new anyway as it was all goin to be fresh under there going back together. I took and completely sanded down my radius arms to and repainted them. They are installed along with the new shocks. I repainted my front springs and reused those as they looked good yet. Still waiting on my spindles to come back. Buddy of mine has the brackets done so I can run the bigger rotors but I just am waiting on him to paint them for me and to finish my 8.8 to. There are better camber caster nuts for adjusting it up front. I paid a ton for them but mine isn't to that point yet so we will see if they help.

I beams are great if you are driving your 4by4 down a bush road , they're so durable that's where the Built Ford Tough slogan came from . But I agree with you when it comes to Street trucks , the only thing they should use is dual wishbone suspension . But if it bothers you to much you could always upgrade to a 98 through 2012 Ranger .

For all the folks bitchin bout the front suspension (I hear ya) a while back power nation built a ranger and swapped an entire crown vic frontend in and moved it forward I believe. Don't remember if it was for the terminator motor or the cross member. but something to consider I suppose

I must be the minority... I love the I beam setup. I run a low profile setup on my excursion and never have had any complaints. My tires wear even.. Once I had cupping but that was because of a bad bushing, never had an issue after that and never had it professionally alligned. Drop beams on springs up front, 4 link on bags in rear. Almost 60k on the setup with tons of towing around the country.
