WHO ELSE READ THE SWORD OF SUMMER AND LOVED IT? I did! So, I wanted to share my thoughts with you guys! This booktalk is by no means perfect, and after watching it again I realize I left A LOT of stuff out, but I wanted to mention some of my favorite moments that I couldn't get over...
If anyone has any tips or tricks for booktalks or reviews PLEASE feel free to comment and let me know! This was more difficult than I imagined but I still had a great time making it! :)

I think Rick Riordan is going do an even bigger cross over series than Heroes of Olympus and Demigod & Magicians. I think he might have a story with Percy, Annabeth, Sadie, Carter and someone from the Heroes of Olympus like Jason & Piper, (which I'm rereading now), and Magnus and maybe Sam. Maybe he'll bring everyone together to prevent the end of world. Since definitely the Norse have a major end world event & so do the Greeks. Well I mean everyone has an end of days myth. So I'm willing to bet that's the direction Riordan is going in.

3 years later and none of that happened 😔 I hope he might still make a crossover book like that. (But at least there’s gonna be a Disney+ Percy Jackson tv series that is faithful to the books!!!! XD ) Imagine how we’ll see all the different gods from different myths interacting/arguing/fighting together! It would be so cool! Like for example I think Freya and Aphrodite would be fighting like a LOT! XD

Love this review!! The chapter titles in the book were definitely one of the best things. Rick Riordan has done it again and made another amazing book!!

I loved when they made the reference to Riptide in the chapter (I'm too lazy to look up the exact chapter) called "Thou Shalt Not Poop on the Head of Art." I was in a classroom reading and had to keep myself from busting out laughing.

Aw omg thank you haha that's so sweet :) I'll definitely make a video about the shadowhunters, they're my absolute favorite after all! I don't remember all the details though so I may have to spend time re reading before I talk :)

I haven't read the Percy Jackson series yet. So do I have to read first Percy Jackson or can I start this series?

You could but you wouldn’t understand why we are all fangirling that Annabeth is here but there won’t be any spoilers for Percy Jackson here so it doesn’t matter. But there are some references from Percy Jackson you wouldn’t understand like this chapter called “Hearthstone Passes Out Even More than Jason Grace (Though I Have No Idea Who That Is)” Jason Grace is a character from the Heroes of Olympus series and he passed out like a lot.

I had to choose a book to read in my English class (mind you I live in Austria and the main language is German here so English is considered a foreign language) and my teacher blatantly hinted at the fact that this book is lowbrow and that he expects me to choose a more sophisticated book. Now I, felt really bad after that, for the writer and his books in general. I mean the author put so much work into writing so many great books and then my English teacher comes and says it's a mass culture book. Kinda offended.

I'm sorry you had to hear that! Honestly, I don't get what your teacher was thinking. This book represents how people talk in daily life, and the grammar is perfect, so for me it makes MORE sense to read this than the Shakespearian stuff if you want to get good at english. I know if I was a teacher I would definetly allow this, definetly wouldn't try to discourage my students from reading something they will actualy like, doing that would only make them not want to read.

I actualy liked this bettar than Percy Jackson, I haven't read them all in either serie, so maybe I will change my mind, but PJ just seemed to get kind of repetetive? And I knew a lot about Norse mythology before reading this, so it probably made it easier for me to remember and understand certian things then for someone who knows very little of the subject. Idk, as I said, I haven't read all of the books, so maybe it will change. But, for now, I like this better. (Also, I'm Norwegian, so my opinion is sort of biased bc of that)

That makes sense though! We all have our different tastes and see things from different perspectives. I’ve read all of the Percy Jackson series as they were coming out and knew more about Greek mythology so that’s why I preference PJ more but the Magnus Chase series is also very good from what I have read so far!

You are not wrong about that......We can clearly see the difference in writing in both the series...... This one being more unpredictable and hilarious but I also love how PJ series can also gets really serious when needed.... So to each their own..... But I think this series better imo
