Whether you grow your own lavender or purchase it in a shop, lavender is an awesome incense ingredient. In this viedo you will learn to make an incense blend that contains only lavender and a tiny bit of gum binder.
This guy makes the BEST incense! He's also one of the very best workshop presenters, teachers! He's also a creator and discoverer of incense secrets, which he freely shares. Not to mention, Carl will always be one of my favorite people, has always had a place in my heart. I wrote a song called Greenman because of Carl and his group of Greenmen. We are all blessed by his life and his creativity!
Glad to see you back! It’s been a long while since you’ve posted but I’ve been dying for more how to videos. As a newbie, I would love to see a video from you on making appropriate substitutions and maintaining good proportions. I’ve been successful, but I still struggle with that.
You remind me of Uncle Iroh (he’s on of my fav characters from this anime series called the Avatar). He has a knack for herbal tea and you have a knack for herbal incense. Plus he’s nicknamed ‘Dragon of the west’. 😊
I just bought your book, and, although it hasn’t arrived yet I have tried making cone incense with lavender (flowers.) I have tons of tried incense stems and leaves and will use that for my next batch. But my cones won’t light! I used 1:3 makko powder and let it dry over Night. I saw your video about reasons this could happen and so I placed all the cones into a food processor and made them dust again, adding another tablespoon of lavender flowers, plus about a teaspoon of ground Palo Santo wood and about 12 cloves. It lights and stays lit a little longer but still goes out quite quickly. Could it be that I’m not letting them dry long enough? I ain’t giving up until I get this right!! :)
Just found your site recently.....ordered two of your books and can't wait til they get here......Thank you so much on making incense very simple to understand ........now can't wait for your books and trying it for myself.....
I tried making patchouli incense. It had NO smell!! Lol I’m so disappointed and confused. I used dpg, fragrance oil and a few drops of essential oil, soaked for 30 hours, dried for 12, and nothing. Do you have a group on social media for discussions and questions like these? I’d love to join!
When you are measuring your powdered ingredients, safer instance if you want 1 tablespoon of red Cedar, should you pack that like you would brown sugar or not?
In one of your previous videos you said that resins such as Koppel should be stored in the freezer overnight before working with them. Would there be a problem with storing resin’s in the freezer on a permanent basis?
Greetings! I don't see a problem with storing in the freezer as long as it is tightly sealed. I've never tried it, so I can't say with certainty, but it sounds reasonable to me.
Thanks a lot for sharing your knowledge. I have a due, i need someone respond to me. Please! 1) how many days have to pass until dry in his totality.? I'm resume wich day can i light the inciense? 2) today it was the second day and still squishy! 3) in My country (argentina) exist two types of goma xantica ...for celiac people and for non-celiac people . Can i use both?
1) Depending on the temperature and the ingredients used, it will take 3 - 15 days to dry. Be patient. 2) 2 days is not enough time. 3) I imagine either would work Let me know how your incense works once it has dried. Good luck!
Thanks You very much. My boyfriend it's gift to me your book . I'm so happy! Becouse i would like this very serius . But i have a question for example .... I only get común woodpower how can i reemplace in the recipe of lavender were You use it red cedar. (2.5gs).....
@@IncenseDragon - I came to ask the same question. So for the recipe instead of 1/8-1/4 tsp of Guar gum, what would be considered “a lot more Makko” like 1/2 tsp? And would that be the same for Tabu No Ki ?
are you selling your incenses online? why not open an online shop with world shipping :D ? and if you have such a store, please include the online address under all your videos for advertisement
