Hello andrei and mama Olga, when you cook sinigang there's no potato in sinigang, you can use Radish, spinach or cabbage,or this Chinese 🥬,finger chilli, tomatoes🍅,onion🧅,don't need to saute the veggies, just boil the meat until tender and add the veggies, season with salt, pepper, fish sauce and lastly add the sinigang mix,
Andrei, pls. scroll down the comments section because some of my co-subscribers say that in cooking sinigang, fish or meat, you do not put potatoes and bell pepper. You may put ginger only in fish sinigang but not in meat sinigang. Also, one subscriber said that you follow the filipino cookbook that you brought back home so that you will taste the auhentic filipino dishes. I fully agree with subscribers' observations.
Yes, he does listen. Who the fuck cookbook, I am sorry about my French. I told them before that you are misguiding a lot of viewers how to cook Filipino dishes. You should watch FEATR or other well known Filipino cooks. I am sorry, but I am part kapangpangan, you break my heart.
Sinigang fish or any sinigang no cilantro. Vegetable egg plans. String bean, tomato, sweet potato leaves, kangkong if your country don't have that you can replace spinach not cilantro and potato.. Potato for nilaga or bullock. Vegetable bachoy, cabbage, onion potato you can put carrot for bulalo.
Huwag kang masyado mainip mama Olga, September is COMING SOON❤Welcome back to Philippines with your loving Children & Apos(grand children)❤ enjoy trip, vacation SOON❤!
Hi Andrei time is near to go back in the Philippines...and Mama Olga cooking sinigang...wow it's really delicious Filipino dish...God Bless to you and to your Mom
Andrie, you can also put string beans or long beans, we call it here in Philippines "sitaw" , you can also put a root crop called "gabi or taro" ( if you have there in Russia) instead of potatoes, it is more apt to use it than potatoes. Moreover, try also to cook chicken sinigang. When I was in Tarlac (located in central Luzon), I always cooked chicken sinigang like my neighbors-- Ilocanos and Kapampangans. It is also a delicious filipino dish-soup too. 😊
If you put potato that will be nilaga ,sinigang has no potato, paprika, ginger and parsley. Sinigang has tomato 1-2 , eddos ( gabi), long beans you can alternate with french beans, you can add eggplant
Hello Andre and your mom Olga,Filipinos have many food with broth like soup because we also spoon the broth onto the steamed rice for more mixture of flavor. Sinigang, tinola, nilaga, bulalo are not soups for us. They are ulam or viand. Soups we don't eat with rice are mami, arroz caldo, lugaw, sopas with macaroni noodles. Vegetables such as potatoes, carrots, celery, cilantro, chili have distinct flavors and they are not used for sinigang and tinola. Ginger is only added to sinigang if you are cooking with shrimp or fish. Boil the water with onions and tomatoes before adding the rest of ingredients. Powdered sinigang mix is best added and simmered with diced tomatoes and onion. before the meats or seafood. We lower the heat after it boils and only add veggies when the meat, chicken,or seafood are no longer raw. Simmer with veggies to enhance the flavor and season with salt, even patis but never black pepper. Jalapeño or chili pepper may be optionally added when sinigang is cooked and before turning off the stove. Cover with a lid please to retain the flavor and not evaporate. Just advising on proper Filipino cooking techniques as trained by my grandma and mom 40 yrs ago.
Delicious , actually you can use potatoes for soup. That is why in cooking you have to be creative and create your own dishes. That's why Chefs are called chef because they create new menus and new flavours
i know you're trying to create your own version of fish sinigang, however, adding potatoes to sinigang is a weird alternative for vegetables that are normally added to the dish. potatoes are normally added to nilaga soup dishes and not appropriate for any sinigang dishes since potatoes can change the normal taste of sinigang. you could have added radish or eggplant instead. i suggest you plant sweet potatoes and put them indoor before your family trip to the philippines since your cousin olya and her mom are going to look after your house anyway. when you come back, you will see camote tops/leaves which you and your cousin can use for your sinigang dishes.
Let them cook however they want, people can created many different dish that we think not good,so let them cook food the way they want, stop saying this and that, this and that, just enjoy the show, for God’s sake,
Sweet potato is very difficult to grow in cold countries, I find it difficult here in UK let alone in Russia… always think of the situation/place when making suggestions po
There are no rules in singigang! You can do what you want and it’s okay to experiment then if you like the results…. Just give it a new name… “Fish Sinigang with potatoes!” Similar to chicken or pork adobo with potatoes! So what? Do what you want and don’t listen to some people who think they know everything!
Cabbage is the best alternative vegetable in sinigang..... Just boil first ginger, onion and tomato, then put fish and cabbage boil for another 2 to 3 minutes and add the fish sauce, vetsin and sinigang powder or inigang paste and boil for another 3 minutes and done 🤤🤤🤤
Mama Olga and Andrei, It's great to look at and watch you both eating Filipino dish, though there are added ingredients which are not really a component of Sinigang, but I think that would be up to your choice.
Sinigang has no potato, instead put pethay and zucchini, tomato, onion, ginger, whole chili do not cut because can fish sauce or call it patis if you want hot separateit not everyone want spicy and with rice.
Hi. We don’t put potatoes and bell pepper in sinigang. If green chilli is not available, use chili powder or chili flakes instead. For green leafy vegetables, I use bok choy or pak choy for my fish sinigang.
Based on our experienced being outside our country as much as we want to use our authentic ingredients in cooking our native dish we can't because of its availability so use whatever we can just to ease our cravings for Pinoys whatever we can think we'll use it basta makaluto lang. Winter is the worst coz we can't go out so habang di pa malamig we try our best to stock some lalo na malunggay..ampalaya..kamote..I freezed them. Mama Olga you're doing pretty good at least you already have an idea of Pinoy food. Stay safe and enjoy your exploring Pinoy foods.
Sinigang shrimp should be tastier than fish and when cooking shrimp include the head and the shell for a better taste but remove the legs. You can add more green vegetable if you like but don't over cook the shrimps.
MASARAP!! Mama Olga really loves cooking Filipino soups and dishes! Soups for your good health, mama Olga!! 👌😍🇵🇭🫶🏻🇷🇺Fresh veggies are also helpful to maintain good health!!
Hello Andrei, tell your mama Olga when she cook sinigang dont put potato, bell paper, cilantro because here in Ph they dont put that vegetable. just put tomato, onion, water spinach, taro, long chili, ginger. but ginger they use when your dish is chicken, fish, shrimp.
Green vegetables that you can use for sinigang if you have them in Russia are: asparagus, green beans and mustard. Any one of these will do. You can also add Radish if you if you have them, too. I admire a good cook when you can use whatever is available in your kitchen as long as it suits your taste. Good job mommy Olga.
Happy to see your mama Olga cooking what she likes sa mga filipino dishes na kini crave nya. Craving satisfied ba mama Olga sa sinigang soup na niluto mo. Kudos !!! Lami kaayo sabaw na sinigang paborito ng mga Filipinos 😋😋
Mama Sita Co. (which donated their ready mix packets to them) will not be amused to hear how their products’ distinct Filipino flavors are messed up by Olga’s inappropriate ingredients….
Instead of using potatoes just use raddish ,eggplant, green or youngpapaya, string beans, cabbage, pechay & etc. You can just one or two of the mentioned vegies.
They seem determined to destroy our tried and true Filipino recipes. But some die-hard, almost-fanatical supporters tolerate their weird un-Filipino versions and calling them “Filipino dishes”!
@@lzu2860exactly! They could just say “my own version of Filipino sinigang, so on and so forth. They cooked afritada with mixed vegetables and cooked sweet and sour with Julienne cut carrots.
Mommy Olga try to cook Macaroni Soup, Lugaw ( rice porridge ) with hard boiled egg and shredded chicken at Goto with fried Tofu and cow stripe ( Tuwalya ) perfect for winter there in Russia....
hi andrei what a nice day to crave for sinigang but i like you to try and cook nilagang pata ng baboy(pork leg or pork knuckle) it's a popular dish here in the philipppines specially in the visayas and mindanao region
that sinigang looks delicious, and we used any sour fruit for sinigang, like unripe mangoes, guavas , and if you travel to any islands in the Philippines you really need to go to manila for domestic flights but we in Davao we already have international flights here like Davao to Singapore, Davao to Hong Kong, Davao to Australia, and andrey why you put sinigang mix directly in your plate that's unhealthy, you really need to put it while cooking, when you are here in Philippines try real sampalok or tamarind for soups, because tamarind trees are abundant here and the fruits just fell on the streets you just need to pick it up, you can also use the leaves of the tamarind for sinigang, it also gives sour taste, and we don't put potatoes in sinigang, we put radish or zucchinis
We're so glad that you choose Philippines as your vacation haven, hope that you'll enjoy to the maximum your stay there.May GOD be with the whole family , safe and well, healthy and happy in your entire living there❤❤❤❤
