Welcome to our new VLOG on here! Vlog 44!
Today we finally leave the river weaver! Manchester ship canal here we come.
It’s been a long 9 weeks on the river weaver on our narrowboat but very, very enjoyable. Ee have had a fantastic summer.
Travelling with our friend Boating David from NB Snowgoose has been fun and we’ve met a friend for life.
We were travelling under the bridge when a photographer shouted us to look up and we were passing The Daniel Adamson which is a famous steam boat and above us was a steam train! A famous one! So on the photo there was a steam train, steam boat , narrowboat and the m56!
Talk about being in the right place at the right time!

Looks like great fun! The misty view blended right in with the cloudy day and I didn't even notice. Can't wait for the next one, even Tony looks excited. I know I'd be a little freaked out about how wide that canal is, but nice and smooth and that's what counts.

Thanks so much will. Tony does all the editing etc. I’m not too good with stuff like that. It’s only £40 to go on the ship canal (it was free for us as we were taken off with the lift being broken) but the sea worthy cert costs xxx

Hi Helen loved watching this blog. You were just down the road from us would have loved to have met up. Brian loved the journey to the Mersey took him back. He used to work on the Manchester ship canal on the tugs then went to ICI a which was the industrial things you went passed. Hi. Really enjoyed your video. I didn't realise private vessels could travel up the MSC. I think it's owned Peel Holdings if I'm not mistaken. Did you have to get special permission from them to sail through the canal ? I did the journey a few years ago on the little ferry from the Pier Head in Liverpool to Salford Keys. It really is a nice adventure. Cheers.

Hi Helen ,I'm sorry to hear that you've been poorly, and I hope with the normal delay in producing and editing videos by now you're fit as a fiddle and back to your normal delightful laughing self. I must say in this video you look positively radiant with that red life jacket, red suits you being a lovely blonde and with that stripy top I thought you'd joined the French Navy and from now on we'd.have to call you Helene la Matelot Francais. So youre on the good old MSC, I'm wondering how far you're going? We used to go up as far as Salford and where we berthed is now Media city and home to the Lowery Art gallery. Dinner was nice but Jeanette couldn't eat half her steak so I said "with the price of meat she better ask for a doggie bag "and she did. trouble is we don''t have a dog. I was thinking of Capt. Bruce but with imminent mail strikes I think the best before date would be long gone. So as my Granny used to say "Cheer up Chicken you'll be better in the morning. Take care coz you're special. 06:45 and you are up and awake. That must be a first. Obviously Tony got you dressed because your dress was inside out and back to front. No wonder you don't know if your coming or going. You look really fetching in your life jacket that matches your lipstick and Tony's blue jacket matches his nail varnish. Your rubber duck looked rather surprised by his insertion on the solar panel bracket. Traaaaaiiiin... It looked a bit like the Mankishire Amada when all those narrowboats set off. Heidi would have been well impressed and in her element. You only needed an eye patch, tri corn hat and a swearing parrot on your shoulder to complete the theme. Obviously they had warned all the shipping to keep clear. They took the day off and went to the Salty Coconut pub for a few beers and a ham and pineapple pizza. I hope you prepared some sarnies for the trip seeing as you can't cook on gas. Probably as well, because you can't cook anyway. You need a chef in that galley. I would volunteer, but I get seasick having a bath. Anyway, keep the boat pointing in the right direction and the right way up and no playing submarines Tony. See you in part 2... with a bit of luck.

I think I’m going to need a new phone. I broke it going onto the weaver - the day we went on and it’s been fine but then after the hot weather it wouldn’t film clear again. I can’t afford a new one yet but I will replace asap xx sorry it’s not the best quality xx

We came off at Ellesmere Port and when we got back I’ve had it looked at and they can fix the lens but say the camera inside is damaged now . One person said they may be able to take it apart and clean it properly. So I think that’s what I’ll have to do. My phone was £650 (I pay monthly) so I def can’t afford another yet xx
