In my opinion this is the man that put cash money on the map. So sad that slim and baby didn't realize that and let money ruin a good thing. Big ups to the original big tymer mannie fresh
Back in fresh's prime, he was advancing southern rap at such a fast rate. remember every few months listening to the brand new cash money album and hearing the progression in their music?
At first I didn't like mannie's production style, but I must say I respect the fact that he hardly samples if at all and it's more original! He really stepped his game up over the years.
Man i use to watch this so much growing up trying to break down what he was doing so i can try his techniques,i remember hearing that bell for the 1st time and trying to find it online😂😅...good times man learning this craft has been 1 hell of a journey
mannie fresh beats always make me start do my two steps makes me bouce ...he has that taste and passion and the charisma that makes him and his beats diffrent from the rest❤️🇵🇭🇵🇭
I love me some Mannie. Truly represent for the South and real hip-hop--what millionaires got to beef about? Mannie said he wasn't raised that way!!! Preach it Fresh! That's grown folks hip-hop....
Roland Fantom X-6!!! I made well over 125 beats on that board between April '06 n March '08, and only managed to save about 35 of em when I had to let it go, due to artistic differences(its all good, I still had over 420 beats at the time)...just seeing it again and hearing those sounds bring back some good memories..damn, its been a minute! I must upload immediately...
mannie fresh is one of the illest on the tracks, deny that or not he deserves respect...that bell at the end of that track was the butter on the bread...

I mean look at todays music its so shit. Im surprised the industry even allows such lame production. And the names of these artists today is super funny. 2 chains? 50 cent? Rosay? I mean do they make names according to how they felt that day? You dont see me calling myself "Big Balls Paul".
Sss I know exactly what u mean... and using outboard gear like that usually gets better results - clearly he didn't get to finish a Master beat in this video. HOWEVER - Mannie Fresh largely popularized the HEAVY use of 808 drums and 32nd notes which comprise most of the beat... along with DJ Paul and others. But he paved the way for the beats we hear on the radio today as much as any producer. Probably my all time favorite... Ran into him at Guitar Center today during, Essence Fest here in New Orleans - he's certainly back to DJing to make his real $ that's for sure. He's a "different" kind of guy that has repeatedly proven himself a phenom at working/thinking outside and actually growing what we think of as the normal rap production "BOX" - essentially "inventing" new styles by utilizing classic methods and tropes... a true to life trailblazer!
I met this cat at the Radison in IL back in 2001 when they were in town for the House of Blues. I walk up to him and gave him some beats.. Almost got scraped by his body guards too.. This beat was banging untill the bells. Sound like someting we all have made before in the early stages of producing.
That's it, baby... the Roland X6. Me and my homie got the X8. Sound quality is beyond amazing and you got control of everything from resonance, ambiance, pitch to any effect. Definately worth the money
If it wasn't for Fresh,Cash Money would been sunk!Thats why folks like, the beat! That ol chit they were rapping about played out over the years. You can talk about money, cars and women only for so long!
Dr. Dre doesn't play he hires studio musicians to play alot of his ideas...thats how Scott Storch blew up Playing on the Chronic 2001 and playing for with the Roots..
i saw mannie live when he was dj'ing for gregory d during the new orleans bounce era in the late 80's...dude is cold. props to mannie..look foreward to watching you and mystical work.
