The ad read portion was really interesting. I do appreciate that ads are becoming more transparent from "this is my favorite thing everrrr" to "this brand has paid me to read you this ad". Internet Shaq has talked about the topic a good amount as well and had similar thoughts.

greatly appreciate the convo about walking a fine line with ads! Like, thank you Brand for paying me, I will do the talking points within the contracted amount of time… but I will not pretend this Brand literally ~changed my life~ I agree that the transparency is super important. I want it to be 1000% clear to my viewers: this is an ad, feel free to skip or look into the thing if you’re interested, but that’s the arrangement

43:05 I'm aware this episode of Sad Boyz was recorded waaaay before this particular advertisement, but Jarvis mentioning his "jokey cadence" for ad reads immediately brain-summoned his Raid: Shadow Legends delivery from a couple months ago - my sides still haven't recovered from the giggles from that one. It wasn't the best Marvel movie out there, I'll give you that, but it wasn't that bad. That being said, I had to skip the Marvel shit-talking session, like I do for every podcast I watch that does it, because I'm tired of feeling like I have to justify why I like these movies. I loved Love and Thunder. It's one of my favorite Marvel movies and I'm tired feeling bad about loving it because all my favorite creators don't.

Our Mr. Beast Burger is out of the Perkins in my town. My friend fixes refrigerator equipment in restaurants...and he does NOT eat at our Perkins. Nor does he recommend it based on what he's seen in the kitchen. So yeah, ghost kitchens for BIG brands like Mr. Beast is legit foolish. There is no control over how everything looks.
