Yes I enjoy this a lot and it helping me with my small stakes game. Making a little extra money each time I hit the tables. I’m going to be moving up stakes pretty soon. I used to play 2-100 spread but find I actually make more money playing 3/6 or 4/8 where I have a bigger skill advantage and can outplay them post flop!!:)

The Th turn is particularly interesting. It would also be nice to see the BBs GTO calling range. solver bluffs with every T that blocks the straight, forcing BB to call with lots of jacks, giving the Aces more value
@PokerCoaching

That spot is also covered extensively in the Tournament Masterclass.
@qwertz12345654321

I really think the average player would call way to little in this spot and you could check back more weak aces and profit from the overfolding

Hey Jonathan, is the ace a good card to keep firing? The villian call the flop so he is probably have one pair and with the ace many times can have two pairs, so even when you have AK you can be betting to a bigger hand. It is very different with any other broadway cards, because they have a lot of Ax in their range but not so many Kx, Qx or Jx. I think it is better to check call the turn and bet the river if the turn goes check check. In this matter you can get two streets of value or three if the villian bet turn and bet river

32:20 I wonder why a 7 on the turn is so much better than a deuce. Shouldn't A2 and A7 be similarly unlikely for utg+1? While A7 should be more likely than A2 for BB (A7o might be a call sometimes while A2o will be a fold probably. At least at 100BB, maybe I don't know enough about 40BB ranges). Also J7s could definitely be in BBs range while J2s would be quite loose. The last argument also explaines why high hearts are worse than high offsuit cards. High offsuit cards block more suited combos that could have turned two pair edit: I think I finally figured it out. It is because of sets. BB will fold most if not all small PPs on the flop. Utg+1 will have all of them. That's why the range equity is significantly higher for 9-7 compared to 4-2. 4-2 are blanks, but BB will have more pairs than utg+1 after calling on the flop. Also the 2 is especially bad because GTO doesn't have A2s in range for UTG+1
@qwertz12345654321
@qwertz12345654321 3 года назад
Is it because UTG+1 wouldnt open with A5s or lower? HJ definitely would at 100BB, but I can imagine it being to loose at UTG+1 especially with less implied odds

Really great video. Well structured and very insightful. I wonder if A8 is really a premium hand on that turn. Would also make the bluff to value range more balanced when checking back A8 and A9. Might be to nitty though I don't know. BB might call with weaker aces again on the turn but I wonder if A8 really beats 50% of the calling range. Maybe it does when also Accounting the draws? I probably would have played bet check bet with A8 but bet bet check makes a lot of sense on the double flush draw

There is a "borderline" hand every time.
@qwertz12345654321
@qwertz12345654321 3 года назад
I just wonder where that boarder is. Especially given the "value" heavy range. Wouldn't it make even more sense to check A8 through maybe even AT and bet the lower aces with backdoor flush + gutshot draw?

Please can someone explain why the 2H is a bad card for the UTG+1? Seems like a reletive brick which doesn't help either players range to me? Thanks

Are bad beats the same on every poker site ? Currently on Ladbrokes and I constantly get knocked out of tournaments. Mostly I have the strongest hand at the flop and the trashier hands are crushing me. Also it seems my Stack is going down too much before I get any playable hands. What do you do when you have AKs or AA and you are forced all in early and you get wiped out.
