There aren’t any gender neutral honorifics in the English language (sadly) so the easiest thing to do would be to exclude them from what you’d usually say and in my opinion the result sounds just as polite. F.e. “Excuse me, you left your bag on the train” instead of saying sir or ma’am. Comrade is cool for banter among friends and stuff, I just can’t imagine calling an older non binary person “comrade” without them giving you a strange look or thinking you’re taking the piss.

1:10 Lots of countries have a south, and in *this* one, IME, I find that "good morning"/"good afternoon" on its own is good enough for formal settings. You don't need to add the "sir/madam".
