To the guys out there that do DPF; EGR;AD BLUE Delete please stop if there is a engine management light on there is a root cause to a problem find it and repair it properly don"t just take a quick buck of a punter because you have a expensive machine.Jimmy huge respect for the video and for taking on a job that someone else has been at personally myself I would have knocked it back 👍
So explain to the customer that he won’t be able to use his car for a month because main dealer doesn’t even have parts in stock for example NOX sensors , or explain to the van owners that need to work every day !!!
I'm a dpf engineer also seen this way to many times a lot of people use the wrong software to map adblue out but also delete the software for the dpf aswell
@alanbrand7681 had many jobs like that and what I advise is I always clean the dpf and when pressures are all ok I advise customer to bring vehicle back to where adblue delete was done and then go back over what was done with the software. There's nothing wrong with adblue delete if its done correctly with the correct software and the proper sensors are muted. To many people get the mickey mouse software off ebay and balls the job up
I had adblue delete and remap last November and have noticed that the dpf warning symbol no longer appears, I have checked the pressure and it is low, 15 hpa and 38, so I'm not sure it's regenerating, should I try a forced regen?
I have done adblue deletes on 8 of these cars e220d w213 ecu md1cp001 and I always do regens after every single job to confirm it reaches 600 degrees and where some other tuners failed to understand as SCR & DPF are in block of software which needs manual solution. So its the bad scr off remap caused this dpf issues. London based happy to help if needed.
Check if the Adblue ecu is disconnected in the boot , if it’s not disconnected it won’t do the regen , if. It’s disconnected ADBLUE solution is not correct
Hi, I had the same issue. You have a video uploaded about my vehicle as well. I deleted the Nox sensor. This car doesn’t like deleting program the best way to go around. It is to re-program it again and solution will fix itself. Then fix the blue system. This car needs the ad blue to do regeneration. On the other side, if he needs to keep the program deleted program, he needs to remove the DPF as well or else you will have the problem constantly To fix my car, I put everything back as it was by the manufacturer. I took the hit of the cost to get the car back running. And by the way, thanks for your advice to one of the garage in Luton ,The result came out well thank you once again
I had that exact problem with the same car, noticed the adblue was remapped out also and only thing I could put it down to was a software issue with the remap, unfortunately don't have a definite conclusion but I thought the same 🙈 think that more so now you've had the same issue!
Not a good idea to even attempt an AdBlue delete remap on any vehicle with an AdBlue system. It will throw everything off and cause many issues. This here is proof. Dont mess with Software, just fix the hardware fault.
I believe that the main issue with this car is it got the Adblue system delete as the temp. of the DPF is measured by the NOX sensor,so if it's deleted it will cause an issue with the whole system not only Adblue
if it is anything to do with the SCR then the SCR would need to depend on the ad-blue. If you want to regenerate the DPF with SCR together, the the ad-blue would need to be working I believe. I always believed the SCR needed adblue to do its job.
Just a thought, my Renault Trafic will only get to circa 300 degrees if it exceeds 400 miles of regens, I assume it's because of the oil dilution as it works again when I reset this.
I’m have the exact same issue on a 17 e200 I work in merc dealer and only I see at this moment is upstream dpf temp sensor is very slow to react first one I’ve seen at this crac
Hi all jimmy, you said on the video that if you did a software update it would re right the ecu is that possible and can the euro tab 3 do that software update. Regards
Sounds like Mercedes have put some software in the ECU that recognises it has been mapped and switches of the regen function off as a way of getting you back to the dealer or stop driving your car. Just a thought?
You can remove the dpf thermocouple and use a heat gun and check its working on your scan tool . Maybe the original is failing or the tip is full of carbon causing a thermal barrier
100% that ad-blue delete has messed with the regen side of things. Usually, the remapper would remove or knock a hole in the dpf to prevent it from blocking up!
@@nathanreid2974 well if you clean injector it won't happen because the emissions will be ok. Mostly the injector for adblue starts to block around 20k, not completely but enough to block the flow to the cat which will then cause higher emissions then the more adblue it will try to inject
My Peugeot 3008 uses pat fluid.and As you know that injects into the fuel so the soot in the dpf burns at lower temps. Maybe that the only option for this is to manually put small amounts of pat fluid in the fuel to overcome this issue. It's not a fix but a remedy that may keep the dpf good??? What do you think Jimmy?
Hi mate, You might be able to help me out... I have a BMW and I can't get it to regenerate as the dpf doesn't reach the temperature ..it starts the regeneration but stays at 300....but if I force regeneration it will reach 600. After forced regeneration the soot level increases quickly basically wants to regenerate every 30miles. Your answer would be much appreciated
Olá tenho um mercedes taxi esse mesmo modelo com o mesmo problema depois da atualização deixou de atingir a temperatura no escape e não faz a regeneração,,,
Bad file or they have not followed the remap instructions. AdBlue resets must be done before the remap takes place on this and many other vehicles are the same, AdBlue ECU must be disconnected, If not I believe fuse 409 (15 amp) in the boot on this vehicle needs pulling out for the AdBlue ECU. Maybe a novice has remapped this.
It's expensive to maintain. Nox sensors fail yearly at £300-500 each. Nox efficiency codes can set you back up to £5,000 I've seen. Adblue pump another £800-1500
@@ORileysAutos I thought it was just the cost of the AdBlue. That cost is just mad, no wonder people are giving AdBlue the flick. There must be someone out there that can design something to sort it out. My only experience is with prime movers , mining equipment and the like, don't have much trouble with AdBlue, only when someone runs the tank dry.
Its not reaching temperiture… (was this an auto).. Thoughts!!, is it the case he is driving it in low REVs (below 3000h) or needs at least 1/2 Tank of Diesel (or auto box is set too low). Isnt it the case that you need to drive a diesel like the police are chasing you … occassionally.. otherwise, i would just factory reset with software
Sounds like it needs the adblu to reach temp? I suppose if someone was really clever they could adjust the parameters in the ecu to trick it into thinking the dpf is hot enough.. who knows..not me..😅
I had this exact issue. I had adblue delete and it was failing to regenerate after doing more local journeys. In the end the dpf would just gain soot after a regen. I deleted the dpf in the end. I found the adblue filter gets clogged to crap when I saw the internal adblue filter (right next to the dpf filter) in the bigger canister. I’d suspect it’s due to the adblue being deleted but I was fine when doing motorway journeys. When local issues occurred. I’d recommend deleting dpf leaving in cat and doing a remap. Other than that they’re better off just sending it main dealer. The emissions system is shit on these. One last thing I’d recommend, sometimes once these ecu’s are mapped, they may not carry out resets correctly. When you registered a new dpf, did your ash level/ soot level reset? It may have to have the original map file put on, resets to be carried out and then re -remapping. I found that is a cause for issues too.
Waste of money mapping out only adblue, get rid of the dpf and egr, your engine will thank you. Keep the cat and will still pass MOT easily especially if on an eco map 👍
