MISTRIAL DECLARED: Boyfriend Cop Murder Trial - MA v. Karen Read - Day 35 

This was the most inefficient trial in history. What an absolute embarrassment to every tax payer in that county

The fact that they didn’t return a “Not Guilty” verdict within the first two hours of deliberation is beyond terrifying… The prosecution didn’t come within a country-mile of proving a single charge ‘beyond a reasonable doubt’. This outcome shatters any remaining faith I had in the US justice system, and confirms a troubling reality: there must undoubtedly be tens of thousands of patently innocent people locked up in American prisons for crimes they clearly did not commit. Utter insanity.

The next move should be to hold accountable, the investigators who falsified evidence. That’s the next move. What a waste of taxpayers money. Ditching your phones which they knew were evidence. These investigators were crooked, inverting the video, and then putting the times back on in the correct direction? The list goes on. All of the experts said his injuries were not consistent with being hit by a car.

The fact the prosecution intends to retry this case is all I need to know. Corruption all the way from the local cops to the DA.

I am nothing if not in a total and complete shock! I want to see those jurors who found the prosecution have met their burden... I mean, what?!

Called it...but defense needs to appeal the mistrial based on judicial & prosecutorial misconduct (amy ruling may be appealed) . Higher court could look at evidence (incl that not allowed by judge wrt misconduct) and declare a not guilty verdict (overturning a hung jury or guilty ruling).

The only part about this I don't believe is that ANY juror was doggedly convinced she was guilty after that shitshow.

The judge and the prosecuter caused all of this mess, let them live with the consequences of their actions. She came very close to imposing a verdict to the jury!

I wonder if it would have made a difference if she had testified. Now they are going to re-try. They should be more concerned about the level of corruption in the Canton PD. Straighten that out first.

Definite win for Karen here! Those jurors that didn't understand what beyond a reasonable doubt is, should have never been trusted to do their job as a juror! Too many jurors set there mind on their own opinions and justifications. U cannot tell me that there were more than 8 or 9 jurors that didn't have any reasonable doubt whatsoever in this case! The evidence has great significance in the defences case and only hearsay and minor evidence in the states case. REASONABLE DOUBT, THAT IS ALL THAT IS NEEDED FOR A NOT GUILTY VERDICT!! I'm not surprised that it would be a mistrial. However, overall it should have been not quilty, so much reasonable doubt was there. I feel sorry for the family that this case was not handled appropriately.

Prosecution should be incredibly embarrassed. They brought this case knowing well this could be a likely outcome when they could have taken more time to get the evidence they needed and figure out better ways to rehab their INCREDIBLY shady witnesses. No matter your personal belief about her guilt, prosecution failed in their duties to the O'Keefe's and the public. If they dare to try this again I'd be surprised.

These jurors needed to be schooled on the difference between ALL DOUBT and REASONABLE DOUBT! Karen WON!

Did you hear the prosecutor he wanted to keep the jury deliberating for 30 + days if that's what it took to reach a verdict. That's crazy. Now he is saying they will try her again instead of admitting he was wrong and go after the real murders. He is willing to spend millions of taxpayers money again on a cover up that will eventually end up with an not guilty verdict.

While there isn’t enough evidence to prove Karen’s guilt, she isn’t helping herself by smiling and smirking in the courtroom. It’s extremely disrespectful and cocky. That would infuriate me if I were a juror. Sick people behave that way.

I didn't expect this verdict to make me tear up. The state did not meet its burden of proof at all. Completely shocked. 😢

A mistrial : The prosecution could drop the charges, they could retry the case, or the defendant could enter a plea deal. If prosecution does not drop the charges, they should do a re trial and bring new evidence for defense , because there is a whole lot of new evidence which was not shown in court due to all the corruption by the police, mcalberts and the court Lally . Lally showed reversed videos, darkend videos that jurors coudnlt see anything. The 911 phone call jen made when shown to court was delibertly presented so that no one could hear anything, because online there is a clear version. This this 911 call Jen maccabe states to 911 that she saw john get out of the car ! that they turned his body over, as in he was left flat on his face and they turned his body so his face turns up. Both kerry and karen were both herstiacal - jen stated this to 911 in the phone call Jen tells 911 that both girls karen and kerry are using their body to warm john. Jen at the very start of the 911 phone call immediately tells 911 that she thinks john is dead, jen never got out of her car to look at johns body , she keeps telling 911 through out the call that john is dead. It is evident in this phone call that Karen and Kerry does not think john is dead because they immediatly try to keep his body warm with their body , and even when jen is telling them to get off johns body, KAREN is still performing CPR to keep john alive. Jen told 911 that karen and kerry are not doing cpr ,because she was delaying recucitation treatment that karen and kerry would not get correct CPR advise , but it is evident that Karen was still doing cpr on john because Jen is yelling at kerry to get of johns body and jen states that karen is still doing cpr Jen never tells 911, that she also attended the party that she and john was at Jen never tells 911 that john is a police officer Jen never tells 911 that she is sitting in her car right infront of a police officers house where the party was that morning Jen never tells 911 that karen was the one who hit john with her car

The focus always seems to be on the tail light, but never on the side dent. Something caused that dent. The experts never focus on a side chain reaction of events either. Some how, some way Karen hit John. It's common sense.

Everybody that thought it was a slam dunk of Not Guilty, it wasn't. Listening to people mostly woman in front of the court house talking about Karen being innocent. When asked why because "I love her" "I love Karen" "I don't know her, but I love her" Well liking someone or loving someone from tv is not enough for a court case to be determined as not guilty. I'm done. Evidence and DNA is a case and timeline. Obviously either one, two three or more thought she was guilty. I as well feel she should be charged with all the lesser charges per the evidence.
