This is sooooo true. I was in a branch (in a leadership position) and we had 120 members. Members attending, about 15-20 (pre-Covid). Post-Covid we were down to 8-10, mostly the Branch President, his wife and the counselors and the Sunday School teacher, plus a couple of members. Then I moved to another branch, again 120 members, and about 12 attending. My last branch 100 members and about 30 attending regularly. I still find myself counting how many people are attending each week (when i do go to Church). I was also in a branch, which had so few priesthood holders than a counselor was even gay. Nobody cared, and it wasn't mentioned to the stake leaders. I am sure that if there were more priesthood holders, that would not have happened, but the Branch President (who I knew) said to me that we take what we can get.

It would be helpful to note the major religions of Japan, Shinto, Tao, Zen Buddhism, in your segment, Rebecca. They are not all one Japanese religion. They are distinct and unique religions with different beliefs. The shrine you showed was most likely Shinto. I loved learning that manga (Japanese comics books) may be influencing young people to explore their spiritual beliefs.

28:46 the church said they don’t excommunicate back when they changed the language from excommunication to withdrawal of membership or membership withdrawal. Their statement that they don’t excommunicate is simply a function of changing terminology

It makes no sense to me. If you couldn't care less about church and never attend and are in a same sex marriage then you can stay a member. But if you actually like the church and want to participate they kick you out.

Easy. If you dont show up you arent leading people away from church teachings by being in a gay marriage. Its not a hard concept.

One of the big pictures to the Temple is that it is governed by Evil forces It’s important to research And learn about why they started temples to begin with . A podcast I highly recommend is Aquarius Rising Africa , they do an amazing job getting the important content out on Temples . Signs , Symbols , demonic forces and the luciferan Brotherhood . Thanks again for a very fun and informative podcast 😊

Manga/anime leaves no religion left unturned. They draw inspiration from just about anything and you can find all sorts of fun religious features depending on the story (Blue Exorcist for example). There was an anime a couple of years back that used the Salt Lake Temple as an inspiration for a ‘Home of the Gods’ in their story. The show was called “Restaurant to Another World,” I believe.

I was an all in, life long member until 2019. THIS exact issue (the church being inconsistent and attempting to appeal to societal norms on the gay stuff) is what got me to question their inspiration and other truth claims. I agree, this issue is going to be a major contributor to the church's downfall.

I agree that there SHOULD be consistency in rule enforcement among church leadership, however, based on LDS doctrine AND policy that would mean that ALL unrepentant gay married couples should be excommunicated. Whether you agree with that or not, that is what SHOULD happen if the church leadership were consistent with enforcing the doctrinal laws of their church.

No, Bill. Not more likely if they are in a homosexual relationship; more likely if they have broken temple covenants, or if the sin is repetitive. Your comment was inaccurate. We all know you don't believe in sexual sin, in the traditional sense. But it is more than a little disingenuous to suggest that the church does not consider all sexual immorality with equal gravity. They do. Why are you so obsessed with the Mormon church. Are you seeking closure?

@@MormonDiscussion Bill Reel seems to use the term "homophobic" often and it appears that the definition is "anything that isn't 100% supportive of the LGBTQRSXYZ political agenda". Is it possible to even just report facts like the STD rates are higher in general for homosexuals without it being labeled "homophobic"?
