Ur maintenance wash =most of our full detail washing 😂.
@LJM2stepspain
@LJM2stepspain 3 года назад
maintenance here just means lack of decontamination. No iron/tar/clay removers needed, no polishing, no new sealant/wax applied. Just maintenance of whats there already. Once the car has a few proper details and has no contamination and a good coating of protection, a wash like this takes 25-30 minutes. Nearly entirely dependent on how long you spend on wheels/tires, because a maintenance wash is typically just a quick pass over the painted/glass surfaces and a rinse. If you use a dry-aid to add protection, one less step.

Another great video Sandro! That is 3xactly I wanted to ask you many times and didn't ask. I got no answer still))))) because my washing take approx 3 hours and I am worried it is too long. Have tried to make it quick but didn't succeed a lot. The vehicle is detailed and coated with CarPro UK 2 layers and CarPro Lite on top + CarPro Reload approx every 4-6 months. Wheels have CarPro Cquartz, etc. So, the car is protected and I am spending around 3 hours. The wash itself is approx every weekend, but the mileage is easily close to 700 km. Weather is rainy often and this makes the car dirty mostly every day. Another thing is tar! During winter period (halve of the year) the car is covered by tar, this mostly happens because of spike winter tires people are commonly using, and this pusg me to use CarPro Tar-X at least over the fenders and doors + rear part of the car of course. So, the normal wash for me is to roll out from garage high pressure washer, connect to el and water, prepair three buckets (wheel bucket + two body buckets), rinse of wheels, wash them with wooleys, brushes and shampoo, scrab tires, cleaning fender plastic underneath, spray Tar-X, snow foam the whole car. Rinse the car and hand wash it. If some tar left (usually not, but winter time...) use Tar-X again with microfiber according to your technic and schampoo over again. Dry the car with drying towels. Open all doors, trunk and bonnet, clean and dry there. And gather all the stuff back to garage. So, this all taking me from 3 hours and more in case of the weather was really not good. How do you think - am I doing this too long or its my own feeling its too long? Once again - thanks for your videos and sorry for stupid question. And yes, country is Sweden:-)
@CarCraftAutoDetailing
@CarCraftAutoDetailing 3 года назад
Well I think you’re dealing with some worse weather plus you’re hand cleaning the wheels and doing the interior as well so it’s going to take more time. Every few months I do a more intensive periodic clean and I can easily spend half day so I don’t think it’s too much time, it just depends on the situation.

Sandro did you know that the yellow painted dot on the tyres is where the tyres need to be fitted lined up with the air valve and the red dot is just the marker only,( Also there's a date stamp on the tyre wall ,so you can buy new tyres but they might be sitting at a warehouse for years ,so i always ask to have the last batch of new tyres and then check the date on the sidewall as well, so 9/20 as a example, same with car batteries) which i use a red and yellow paint pens to mark them after i detal the wheels and tyres, that way it always looks like its got brand new tyres on the car. :) Keep up the great work Sandro ,you uplands outshines the rest. 🏎✌👍👌🙌😊

Good video Sandro. Confirms my washing processes as my car is also outside 24/7. The main difference I do at this time of year in Sydney, as I have to wash the car outside, is doing 1-2 panels at a time, so to avoid products drying on the surface before rinsing or drying, even if I begin at 7.30am (noise restrictions) or after 4pm . This of course extends the washing time as you are constantly switching between foam gun and spray nozzle and wash and drying processes. Cheers Ozz

I am so glad you made this video. I just hope the rest of the valeters i work with are watching this. They think that the washing stage is not as important as the polishing stage The wash stage is where good practice starts. Yes every stage is imoprtant but any dirt left on the car will lead to problems down the line. I find myself watching your older videos as my knowledge improves I find another nugget of information. Your videos are alway useful keep them coming

Well, Sandro, that is what happened to my Astra just after I coated it with EVO. Except we had a huge dust storm and 1mm of rain with lightning that really helped coat the car. I am not sure what was in that dust (came from the west) but it did the trick in etching into the new coating. But, after using Car Pro and NV water spot remover, it did get rid of 90% of the marks with a few light etches left behind. I guess the coating did its best to protect the clear. Was so annoying after all that polishing, buffing, prep and time to coat EVO. But I have since used JET on top and that with the EVO really shines plus repels the water amazing. And being your car is almost the same colour as mine, they seem to show the dirt so easily. Good video again as usual. Cheers.

@@CarCraftAutoDetailing Thanks for the response Sandro. But that being the case, Abd pardoning the ignorance, can the car not simply be pressure rinsed away especially if the coating product is worth its salt? Or is my understanding of protective coatings in need of deeper and broader research?
@CarCraftAutoDetailing
@CarCraftAutoDetailing 3 года назад
Well that will depend on quite a few things such as the specific paint protection product and the stubbornness of the dirt and grim, but a good pre-soak foam and pressure rinse down can be extremely effective, though it’s rare that it will remove all the dirt and grime that a hand wash can address. But certainly given the right circumstances it can be a great viable option!
@Weeem
@Weeem 3 года назад
This might be a daft question, but if you get storms like that every month or so, wouldn't it be easier to get a car cover to protect it overnight?
@CarCraftAutoDetailing
@CarCraftAutoDetailing 3 года назад
Unfortunately car covers do have their draw backs. You really need to use them over clean paint or they will create swirls as you apply and remove them. But on windy days as the move about and dust and dirt enters them they will also be prone to swirls.

After watching a bunch of your vids I bit the bullet an bought a heap of washing/detailing products from a few Melbourne suppliers (wish I had watched your no bucket wash vid before I’d ordered two buckets!). I’m planning to do a complete decontam, wash, paint correction, cquartz uk 3.0 application and glass seal with flybyforte. Would you recommend getting gliss to put on top of my cquartz uk 3.0 coating, for a car that’s mostly going to be living undercover, and getting a snowfoam + shampoo wash every couple of weeks? Do you think it’s worth getting reload as well? If you have the time any advice would be appreciated.
@CarCraftAutoDetailing
@CarCraftAutoDetailing 3 года назад
I would say do two layers of CQUK (start your second one straight after your first) and get some Reload which you can apply 1-2hrs after you finish coating. I’d also tend to say you can apply Gliss 6mths later to revive and boost the coating and in the meantime just use Reload every couple on of months to maintain it. A foam, rinse and hand wash is great to maintain the car regularly after the coating and you could even use something like Elixir after each wash to boost the finish and even use it as a drying add to minimise water spots and potential drying scratches. Hope that helps!
