4:52 I remember seeing that episode once. That person was extremely disrespectful to their son, mother and doctor, who were all trying to help. They would yell, complain and cry, but they never put in a single ounce of effort to change their current situation. However, they would claim that they have been trying, when in reality, they haven't and we've been seeing the evidence through the footage. This person wouldn't even make an effort to sit up in their bed unless it was to get food from the fridge. Their son even told the audience that and we would see it happen constantly.
If I was ever at a state like that in my life, I would just off myself. I already feel like it most days, their lives must be a living Hell. Can't say I empathize with them, though. They did it to themselves.

They are people too, and can loose the weight to live normal lives. It’s not an easy process, but given the ambition and support of others, they can do so.

Just for the record, I'd like to explain my reasoning for this video, since I didn't put much effort into it and didn't expect a lot of people to see it, so I didn't bother to make my intention clear. This video is not simply meant to make fun of fat people. I just find this specific show to be very dishonest. I wanted to illustrate how, without the soft piano music paying in the background, that the production inserted in an attempt to trick us into thinking that what we're watching is tragic and worthy of sympathy, the show instead feels more like candid camera comedy or an episode of the office. This pathetic attempt at emotional manipulation is a joke. These people are not victims, and if someone playing a sad violin tune convinces you otherwise, you need to pay attention. Even as the tear jerking music plays on, you can watch the very same disgusting behaviors that makes these people treat their friend and family like shit and refuse to take responsibility for their own actions, be the very cause that they also lack the self control to stop stuffing their fat gob with hamburgers. With the exception of a couple of people with genuine problems, most of these guys are just giant assholes (no pun intended), and using sad music to try and mislead people into thinking otherwise is almost comical in and of itself. Several of them are either fat fetishists who got this way because it turns them on, camwhores for fat fetishists, or serial attention seekers who have been trying to become e-famous for nearly a decade. That guy at the end? He's been on like 7 reality shows after some youtube video he made went viral years ago, and not too long ago he was kicked out of yet another fat clinic for sexually assaulting a nurse. The people in this show don't deserve your sympathy, no matter how hard the soundtrack tires to fool you into thinking they do.
EZ PZ no offense intended, but I dont think that is 100% accurate. Almost through the entire first half of the shows episode, it is edited in a way to showcase the patient's contradictive narrative of their viewpoint on their own life. For example, them saying something like "I dont even eat very much" and then show them ordering the whole Taco Bell menu the next second. Etc, etc, etc. Also, the doctor himself, Dr. Nowzaradan, is a no bullshit type person who tells the patient how they are screwing up and to stop eating. Many videos on youtube have uploaded compilations on the good doctor saying these things to patients. The show does, in fact, tell the story of how these people got to where they are. But I dont believe it is to envoke sympathy, but to try to help anyone who is watching who is facing a similiar situation. Like I said, im not tying to start an argument or be rude, just throwing in my point of view :) P.S. sorry about my English. It is second language. Maybe not so great lol

DiceWarwick Problem is, “going out for a walk” doesn’t exactly help. Not only can they not do it, because the prospect of walking is super painful, it will also probably end up getting them killed if they don’t have help doing it. What they need is surgery, but a surgery like that requires at minimum 20k dollars. And judging by these people’s living conditions, they can’t exactly afford that, so they’re pretty much hopeless.

I saw a morbidly obese man who couldn't walk literally flop around and flail his arms untill he lost enough weight to walk. These people lack the self control and dedication to better themselves. The worst thing about these people, besides of course increasing my health care bill, is that they take away legitimacy from actual problems like hypothyroidism, where people actually have trouble even when they try to lose weight. Like how my mother throughout my childhood ate 1 meal most days and still was overweight. Then this leads to her having low nutrients, and has to take lots of supplements. It really sucks, then you have people like these eating 50 big macs a day saying they can't help it.

You're not supposed to eat until it hurts. The stomach also shrinks if it's constantly unfilled. And if you super fucked it up, you can get surgery to reduce its size.
The body positivity movement has nothing to do with it. Body positivity involves being comfortable with your appearance, scars, hair and skin color, and body shape and all. People are people, with talents and a role in the world that they can fill, and how they look shouldn't change any of that. But these people have absolutely no reason to love themselves in their current state, because they are absolutely incapable of functioning in day to day life. No amount of self-esteem and positive thinking is going to do anyone shit for dick if absolute basic needs like moving and bathing are herculean tasks because they are gigantic blobs.
