just a question, could you try an old tune and see if it still does it. shot in the dark but the jerking could be from the tune. if its like my wrx it should be the tip in compensation. if not tuned correctly that can cause a stutter or a jerk when you give the car throttle since it changed the ignition. also make a log and do what your doing. from the logs maybe we can see what is going on when you give it throttle. also can see what else the engine is doing.

My car is running the same exact way I have a 8thGen 2007 I change my mass flow air sensor and it started to drive a lot better doesn’t shake as much and my RPMs don’t stay hanging as much. My check engine light turned on in my car started jerking when I would put my feet on the pedal. I took it to AutoZone and the computer rang up O2 sensor. Can I still drive my car like that?

Sounds like injectors or maf needed cleaned. My car is 13 si and it is acting weird since I cleaned the throttle plate and took it off to install the new throttle body spacer. How did you do your idle relearn gerb?

Curious what’s the app your using to get that information in your phone how is that?

remember you had to swap out your o2 sensor because the tuner said the previous one was bad, so you might have had the issue but the bad sensor didn't pick it up, just run the tuners tune because you do have mods and it was tuned for them. you don't have to push your car if you fear for its health. good luck, keep us posted

Could be bad O2 sensor or sensors in exhaust. I’ve had to replace mine a couple times and the car runs crappy no cel.

Idk i had a problem like that with my corolla. it was when i went over a certain load (rpm). Mechanic said a loose fuel connection. quick fix he only charged me 50$. now idk whether that was injectors or a fuel pump connection but it was before i knew much about the car.

I had the same problem. No engine light. Only mod I have is an intake. It was that I needed to replace my air assist solenoid and everything was back to normal

One thing I would suggest is that when pumping 91 into your car the first couple liters/gallon will have some regular mixed in from the previous user its unavoidable with pump theses days so I would recommend filling at least 30-50$ into you tank instead of the cheap 10$ during one fill to get a good flow of actual 91 octane. premium dosen't go stale nearly as fast any low octane will produce knocks/ shitty running on a K just a suggestion..? any thoughts I own an 07 SI coupe 190k.

Problems like that are usually a few different things ......maf sensor, air fuel sensor/upstream, O2 sensor/downstream, fouled plug or plugs, plug wires, distributor or coil packs , fuel filter or fuel injectors, i bet money it is one or more of those if not maybe something went wrong in the tuning switching back and forth, i would take it to a dyno tuner they can figure it out and then have it dyno tuned and then leave it you should be good to go...

It's your mass air flow sensor. Same thing happen to my fg2

Hook up your hondata and read your tps values as you drive, when it jerks watch the tps if it changes in large amounts without moving the gas petal, that's your issue. It never throws a code until it gets bad.

Mass Air Flow Sensor! Replace it or disable it in Flashpro, tune on the MAP sensor

Don't know why Honda went to a MAF sensor on the 8th gen SI's , just causes more issues. That's why i prefer the K20a2 or k20a with only a MAP sensor which is all you need.

Gerb check the mass flow sensor it might need a cleaning because mines jerks around 3k rpm ever since I got my typhoon intake

You should bring it to a tuner bro and get it tuned to see where your at and what could be posible causes of why that’s happening

Keep it stock tune for a while and wait to see if a DTC sets

What is your reasoning for switching back to the stock tune when you had Derf and that other guy Etune the car?Your closed loop fueling (part throttle) is gonna be controlled by the primary o2 sensor on all the tunes. Once you go WOT after usually 3-4k RPM the computer will switch to open loop and read off the fuel map. Im sure Derf leaned out the car at WOT , esp on the high cam(Vtec) as most stock Honda tunes are pig rich in the higher rpms. So if anything you should get way better fuel mileage and performance on the Etune.

Why go back to stock tune with the mods you have??? The problem is the car is now reading the MAF sensor instead of just the MAP sensor on the race tune..the injen intake doesn't jive well with the factory maf..it's simply not reading the air flowing past it accurately. Switch back to the tune and it will be fine..

Man I hate to be that guy but bro we have all said many times before....you can't run the k20 with bolts on on the stock tune. You just can't. The computer is not capable of adjusting for the higher air flow. Thats why you see it run wayyy lean in 6th part throttle. Load on the engine is huge at that point. Just do not act so surprised when that engine pops. Not trying to be a dick but man.....

Dude, check the AFRS while putting in gas. Its probably the tune. I saw its going lean Also keep in mind the Air temps

Telling you bro, go back to the Injen SRI, Alpha Header, stock cat back basemap, drive it 30mins normally and if knocks are 10 or less you're good until you get an actual tune

Mine haha 5th gear very slow pull but reved it to 6rpm off and on the cel came on with vsa and the triangle. Haha definally p2646 actuator ha vtec solenoid. Definally from washing the engine or ha going slightly cheap on fuel.

Going catless and and an intake the same diameter on a stock car that is MAF based is completely fine.. The same amount of air is being seen by the maf sensor so it's going to toss the same amount of fuel.

Your AFRs are super lean, even your trim levels show that the ECU is trying to adjust it by adding more fuel. It's all in the tune. That jerking are lean spots and it's due to the alpha header. Best bet would be to either get another tune asap or go back to stock

running a header and full exhaust will make your car lean out because of the free flow and give you crazy afrs if it's untuned

Dude..... relax.... this is very clearly a MAF sensor issue. Quit all the shotty quick fixes. Swap out the MAF and be on your way. Side note, Injector cleaner takes a while to work. You can not just drop some in with higher octane fuel and think it is going to do anything right away. Your Hondata is your friend. It is telling you that you have an issue with fuel mapping which is controlled first by your MAF. Good luck man. Hope you actually read this and relax a bit.

You don't have the original baffles inside the the housing for the MAF sensor so now the reading of the sensor is no longer the same as the original OEM. Also you can have turbulence because of the missing baffles. You will have most likely incorrect fuel air ratio plus you can also have knocks.

Sounds like the TPMS sensor. Literally just unplug ur battery and it should be fine

kinds sounds like you aren't getting fuel since you said as you were going to give it gas it started hesitating, you are also going lean. I think its possible that its your fuel filter or fuel pump. adding those fuel additives and letting the car sit for a while causes the dirt build up from tank to make into the filter clogging it up. to me its a clear indication your are not getting the demand in fuel.

Gerb ask your E tuner to see whats going on, very strange mind you almost everything that could go wrong is electric smh😨

Won't be able to diagnose on your own unless you possibly take it to a shop and have them investigate. I just postponed my 8th gen build.

What's is up man. I have a solution. So the only thing I can think of is there is the upstream sensor which is typically higher up then the o2 sensor. The o2 is know as the down sream sensor. The up stream sensor measures your (AFR) air to fuel mix. I had the same thing happen to me a while back and changed that and ran like new. It is more expensive then the o2 if I can remember. Like 30 to 40 bucks more. Give that a try and see if it fixes it. If not then at least you have a new one in place

I think I gotta stop switching tunes and go to actual dyno tunner in ur area and get it dyno tuned and get better results

Stock map is not helping with the mods. Its your oxygen sensor once u swap over your map it should run better. The stock map is not dumping enough fuel. Just my opinion I'm not a mechanic.

i had this similar problem before. i really found out that my MAF sensor was flooded because i was running a Hybrid Racing CAI.

Your VTC actuator/intake cam gear is bad fasho dude you can hear it when you cold start the car 1:28 that rattle for half a second is not supposed to be happening...

Stock tune with mods not good, just put your best tune on for your mods and baby the car. You're almost at 200k maybe keep midnight as a beater for our shitty CT roads and weather(you know what i mean) and grab a nice used toy that's low on miles..I financed my 9th si and bought an 06 outback as my "beater"

Dude stop spending money on garbage that isn’t gonna do anything. The car is running extremely lean Bc of the improper fuel mapping. An exhaust and header isn’t gonna kill you on stock tune but the intake will throw everything off. Get a real tune. My tuner is a great guy and can send you a solid basemap if you need it. He only charged me 175 for an etune. Get a real tune if you wanna mod the car or you’re just gonna kill the thing.
