When I was in high school, I missed the bus a lot and my mom would take me in......one day she didn't take me in and of course the school counselor brought me in to ask if there is anything going on at home. LOL!!! So embarrassing. I didn't miss it again.

It seems 8 Passengers is Done and I hope in out--come the kids get some money when they turn 18 for making their parents Rich. But it still makes me Sick knowing that Ruby & Kevin act like they didn't do anything Wrong.

I agree with strong discipline & guidelines...but doling out discipline must be done with the proper attitude on part of the parent. What feels wrong here, is she appears, (from not only this video but seeing her on other channels), to ENJOY rubbing it in their faces that SHE is in charge & a sense of gleeful smugness that they are uncomfortable. I get an ungracious feeling of maliciousness in her disciplinary approach. For sure, forcing the teens to sit & make a public video of their alleged wrong doing, & how the mom punished them seems wrong. It's as if the kid are being punished twice for the same "crime".

When I got my period I specifically asked my mom not to tell anyone. I caught her telling 2 people, her best friend and my grandmother, and I still felt so betrayed. Even though it was my grandmother and a woman who was like an Aunt. It was my personal business and she shared it without my permission. I can't imagine that if there was no financial pressure, etc, the kids would actually agree...over and over and over again.

You need to ask a girl…. I’m sure 99% of teen girls would agree that discussion of acne and puberty is mortifying. I remember being so embarrassed when my mom told everyone in our family about my period, I can’t imagine if she told the world.

i think ruby has gotten way worse. i grew up watching 8 passengers when i was younger as i’m a similar age to chad and shari so i remember what their content used to be like. i have a memory of chad getting excluded from school because he had gotten into a fight with a boy who had been bullying a girl he was friends with. i remember ruby being more understanding and disagreeing with chad fighting but was glad he stood up for this girl, as he was punished at school ruby didn’t punish him at home. so i so curious as to whether there’s a LOT more to the story of chad being sent to wilderness camp and having his room taken away or whether ruby has gone insane and become too strict.

That camp the Chad went away to; Chad ended up saying that he loved his experience there. But I’m curious if he loved it because he was away from his overbearing/strict parents.

I’m actually studying to become a child psychologist in university right now and it’s going to be so interesting to watch these family vlogs after I’ve learned more about the social and emotional psychology of children and be able to see things in the ones being exploited on these channels.

A 5 year old barely knows how to spell or count let alone pack their own lunch. And to make them not eat because of it?? That's child abuse. Straight up. I don't have kids but if I did I would pack their lunches until around 8th grade. When they turn 13-14 they can start packing their own lunch. If I feel like spoiling them with love I'll keep packing it until they graduate but they should at least know how while they're in middle school. Forcing a 5 year old, who isn't even in first grade yet, to pack their own lunch, is excuse my language but retarded. And to not feed them as punishment is disgusting. And that is literal child abuse/neglect. I'm appalled she treats her little girl like that. Omg. P.s I love your roasting and sense of humor. The big one with her that truly reveals all is the conversation where the mom complains about being on a diet and being hungry and wanting to blame Chad. But she know she can't blame chad and he sits there like "yep you can't blame me." What kind of mother chooses to get on a calorie restriction and wants to blame her biological hunger on her son?...A complete narc like my own mother who was determined every little thing that went wrong in the world was literally my fault. People like this will twist any situation in order to blame their chosen scapegoat. That one conversation revealed all. I think "Camp" gave Chad some time away to talk with other kids and realize all this "blame" was pretty messed up, among other things. So when he came back every blame she tried to levy his way was met with a new boundary he never had before. "So, you on a diet and now you're hungry and trying to say it's my fault? It's not my fault." The same thing I did when I was as late teen. Offloading all the responsibility of the parents emotions and problems back onto the parent and saying "I was never responsible. This was always your fault. You're on your own."

loved rewatching this, Tyson seems the right balance of, I'm still a kid and gonna mess with ya, and I'm an adult with my own fully formed thoughts and opinions...But he knows when to joke and when to be serious... Josh and Mrs Josh raised him right!!!

Ruby sent Chad to Anasazi camp after her friend “She’s in her apron” sent her son to that camp. I assume this is a behavioral/ conversion camp that is popular in the mormon community.

Couple questions First, I’m wondering if you’ve heard about how some of these “wilderness camps for behavior issues” actually are. Not all of them of course, but there are many that are abusive and many kids leave more traumatized than they were when they arrived. Might be interesting to look into and possibly cover! Also, did I hear you mention Dr. Kirk? As in Kirk Honda? He is fantastic!

This proves how well abusive parents can hide in plain sight. They’re juuust normal enough to make you doubt yourself about their actions. When I tried telling people my mom was hurting me, I was told I was wrong. 3 years no contact with her, but the damage is done.

All of those moments of embarrassment for those poor kids will always remind me how embarrassed I was when a lady around my mums age commented on the fact i was growing boobs. I was mortified, as a shy 13 year old and my mum luckily overheard. She walked over and stood in front of me, promptly saying 'Excuse me? is that really an appropriate remark to make to a child?' i instantly felt better, because the person who is there to protect me, did just that! i just couldn't imagine my mum posting videos talking about my periods and shaving. I wish those poor kids had a mum like i do.. Truly heart breaking. Im so glad i have all of this knowledge to protect my 2 children. All thanks to you Josh! you're one of a kind. Thank you

i’ve seen some little kids “pack” their lunch where the parents prep everything and the kids have some options from each category(protein , fruit, veg, treat) and they feel all independent and responsible but the parents no they are getting a balanced meal not just 5 packs of fruit snacks

This is a great video. I have 2 teenage sons (a 18 & 14 yr old) and totally agree they do inappropriate brilliantly! 8 passengers crossed the line with their kids online in my opinion. They have been totally shunned by their entire family now, non of Ruby’s family speak to them. Since watching you I no longer watch family vloggers. Thanks.

Awesome your son giving his opinion on this. I watched the video we’re she didn’t take her daughter a lunch an she blamed it on a 5 year old fault. School should of called CPS because if this lady can do this to a 5 year old then just imagine everything she does to her kids. She puts out what she does to her kids which a lot of the discipline she does is abuse. I wouldn’t be bragging about it to the whole world. These kids will turn 18 an get out of there. Kids won’t have a close relationship with her as adults cause of all the stuff she has done to them an shes a control freak.

I went back and looked at this time line of video and somewhere after moving into the house. Chads room flooded from a broken pipe so needed new carpet and paint etc so maybe his room was also delayed due to that as well as the punishment of we aren’t renovating your room if you bully your brother
