Hi Juliann I hope my comment didn't sound as a form of privacy invasion your comment tells of a wonderful woman with a beautiful heart which led me to comment I don't normally write in the comment section but I think you deserve this complement. If you don’t mind can we be friends? Thanks God bless you….🌹🌹🌹🌹
Your coop is almost identical to mine. I grew up on a chicken farm and my Grandma had chickens too, so I sat down to design my coop with a lot of experience to guide me. You did too. Funny how two people, experienced with chickens; came up with almost the same exact design! I did put a wood floor in mine and it is up on cinder block piers to get it off the ground. I simply cover the floor with hay and clean it out about every two weeks (good for the compost pile). Too many digging critters around here for a dirt floor. My birds sleep in the rafters and I use my Dad's old aluminum ladder for them to climb up. BTW Mine is 14 years old and still holding up perfectly.

I just found your channel and discovered the doll that you are! What a breath of fresh air! Thank you for showing us your coop. We, as in I, are so excited about getting some chickens. Neither of us is handy, but I’m so impressed that you built your own cabin. If you can do that, surely I can build a coop. Thanks for the tips, encouragement, and creative ideas. Until your next vid, be well and safe.
Becky, I've watched your videos over the years and started with soapmaking using some of your videos! I always enjoyed watching you and your homestead lifestyle! You also look amazing doll! Just wanted to tell you that and thank you for sharing your life and knowledge with all of us! : ))

Love the coop! Looks very solid 😃 and your rooster is so cute 😄 I love how he looks when he's looking straight into the camera, his comb is going everywhere, so cute!

Thank you Becky❤️ I live in a cooler climb, need a little winterization suggestions. My chickens love your blue plastic bin egg boxes, and they are a bit fussy.

So glad to see you thanks for the tips. Have you considered building a front porch for your cabin. Something open or maybe even screened in? Your coop made me think Becky needs one too!!

When I got the crazy idea to get chickens back in February, your site was the first I ran into. I landed up buying black australorps based on your recommendation, they finally got shipped about 3 weeks ago and I'm hurriedly building the coop. I've got about 2 weeks tops before they'll be too big and will need to be in the coop! Wish me luck!
Great episode. And thank you for that tip on much earlier video about getting diatomaceous earth powder. I just got chicks and keeping them warm and dry has been a bit tricky in AZ Spring.. I want to do better.
Hello Becky I finally figured it out why I your videos were not showing up because the bell button was off. I had too go update on my subscribers channel and pushed all the bells. Thank You for sharing your videos. Have a Great Day.
I bought your book a few months ago and it's a fantastic resource! I'm still in my first year of chickens and I absolutely love it! Your channel has been a wonderful resource and I really appreciate your videos. Thank you sooooooo much for all you do and the knowledge you share. 💙🦊
Hello! You bought the Becky's book, and she said in the link, well I'm not really good with the internet, where is the link to get the book? I can't seem to find it. Thank you so much for your time.

Nice coop, I have had the same idea about changing the coop i have. With roasts on one long side and the nesting boxes on authentic opposite, it much easier to clean. Blessings to all🥰
Awsome viedo I have 19 hens 2 roos that are french black copper marans. They will be laying soon. My coop is part of a 20x20 pavalian I portioned a 10x10 area for sleeping and laying quarters. Attached to front of still under pavillion is a 10x10 eating area next to that is a 10x10 food storage of 31 and 20 gallon cans for chicken food treats etc. The last part of pavilion next to chicken coop I have it boarded off with gate for my guard dog. Between dog coop and chicken coop attached to boards is hog panel on dog side then metal roofing in chicken coop side . On outside of chicken coop is 3 chicken runs attached together to make a 20 by 30 area to graze. Its divided into 3 sections with gates so they can only graze one 10x30 area at a time it gives time for grasses to grow back for grazing. Top of chicken runs is connected top rails for top support to secure welded wire to cover top. I used 3 dog kennels with extra gate panel and extra fence panel. The sides of kennels are surrounded by chicken wire then hog panels final then layer of welded wire. There is only one people gate opening and that's on the food storage side. I will also be adding dig guards inside primiter of the runs. I have had to battle raccoons, possums, cats, peacocks, coyotes, neighbors dogs, hogs, bob cats just to name a few including humans taking animal feed and chickens. Kinda almost for knox except bears dont know if it would hold up to bear or not
Good because the number one mistake people make is over crowding their coops. That’s when the problems start and the whole project goes down hill.☀️❤️☀️
Becky!! You always light up my days and inspire me with your videos. I’m 26 and just started getting into gardening when my grandpa passed and he told me to do two things every day: 1) tend to my garden 2) yoga I couldn’t find your email on your channel! How can I connect with you / send inquiries? 😍
Hey Becky thank you for the video and the coop looks nice I like it and I have a quick question for you when I get my property for the meanwhile I am going to buy a shipping container putting my food in it and myself in it too and put four windows in it and the square foam blocks I'm going to stick them to the wall with liquid nail so I don't think it should be a hot box once I do all that work to it because I know they are very warm
Sweet! We finished our coop and hen house just in time, the babies are five weeks old! They sure love having their own space. Becky what about predators how do you free graze them? We have a lot of predators here and the chickens are double fenced with electric wire on the outside.
Is very cold in very very Nth Fl I fight the cold keeping them warm while leaving ventilation. Now how is it for anyone in northern central near or past OcAla I know it can get cold too prob not the same constant cold snaps from occasional warmer days over several days day and night down right fridgid . Never constantly this north in winter with constant ice that sometimes dint melt till past noon time slot of the time if it does create ice. I’ve shuffled over ice and hung on for life on my ramp many of times
I would catch the chicken, sit down and dust it with DE all up under their wings. Nice and gentle. I would do that every other day, three times. Then once a week for three weeks and see how they look. Clean and dust the perch and coop☀️❤️☀️
May I ask what state you live in? I'm looking to relocate but can't seem to find a great place weather-wise so I can farm, grow hay for my horses, and not have too hard of a winter. Thanks!
That fencing you used over the windows is not predator proof. All of those holes up at the roof will let predators in. No floor and they will dig their way in, if you are going to use this as an example of a safe coop you need to address these problems and make another video when they have been corrected
Becky, I left a massage yesterday in your old video “ How to fix an egg bound hen” But I need to know if the calcium tablets are people calcium tablets or they are for animals. I always have the egg shell but this hen don’t eat o consume so she is with this problem of egg bound. Thank You
I need help please! I have two 8 week old chicks that I am worried about. One has raw spots on each side of face and the other has red irritated skin on face with no feathers around eyes. Any ideas on what I need to do. I wish I could share photos.
