I noticed it’s easier for people with looser texture to retain length
@Claredon1
@Claredon1 4 года назад
Yes! The looser (straighter), thicker, and coarser your hair are the easier it is to grow long. All three of these traits can be generally found in Asians/Indians. As well as the fastest growing hair racial wise. Though, with some work, kinky, natural hair can definitely grow long.
@Shalayah2010
@Shalayah2010 4 года назад
i agree.... tighter/coily/kinkier curls are more susceptible to tangles, knots and breakage.
@NappturalBeginnings
@NappturalBeginnings 4 года назад
Yes, that's why keeping your hair in stretched state helps to retain length better. The curls and coils don't have as much ability to knot and tangle up.
@TheCozyCoils

Napptural Beginnings I couldn’t agree more, I noticed I am starting to retain length from keeping my hair stretched. My hair loves being stretched.

SIS thank YOU ... telling people to learn your hair BRAVO. Your hair will talk to you you gotta listen to it. Note when your hair is on point what all was going on, what products, were you on point with your water intake, what was the weather like. Then you can easily replicate it. Also not jumping from from product line to product line. To really learn what works for your hair you have to use something more than two or three wash days. Use their Shampoo conditioners and stylers and try it for a month. WHY because you have to eliminate you as the problem, user error. Did you use too little or too much. And listen to your hair always . Great video sis loved it

One thing I’ve learned that I need to get back into the practice of doing is wetting and detangled your hair every 3-4 days! Sounds like a lot but when you have a regimen down pact it makes it easier. DONT go 4 weeks without detangling your hair if it’s in your natural state! I’d only recommend that if your hair is stretched and your ends are covered and not free flowing. If you rock wash and goes please don’t go longer than 4 days without wetting your hair down and gently detangling (mainly For those with 3c-4c texture)! Don’t use shampoo every 4 days! You can just rinse with water or use a high quality cowash! But be sure to clarify once a month if you do this. Because build up can cause tangles and that leads to breakage as she said lol.

Loved loved loved this video! Kept nodding throughout saying “yeessss, that is so true!” I can’t stress how much I appreciate your honest and helpful spirit that shines through all your videos! Majority of hair journey videos put an *exaggerated* emphasis on specific products saying ‘ this oil grew my hair or putting this food 😂on my scalp grew my hair” when in actual reality it’s more than just that one specific thing! Your scalp, diet, styling techniques, overall regimen and even your attitude and mindset all play an important part! Definitely saving this video for future ref

🤗💜great tips!! A scheduled regiment works and finding the right products is a key point too. I use DIY's now after major hair loss because at that time straightening was what salons did. I wanted a natural wash and go style, unfortunately, I was a few years too soon. Love your hair length and beautiful curls. I am still working on my length retention after years of trial and error.

You are right on about listening to the needs of your hair. For the longest time I was using henna tea daily and I noticed it was causing breakages after 1 year. So I stopped using henna tea and mask and my hair condition improved. I still like henna but I dilute it so it is not as strong and use only when my hair feels overly soft . Love the video!

Yes!!!!!!!! I prepoo my hair and I have noticed a big difference before I wash my hair. I love protective styling because I can keep my twist in and not worry about anything. I also keep my twist in just like you do. My hair does not like Olive oil. It makes my hair dry. Any products with olive oil is not good for my hair. I also use Aphogee Two Step Protein Treatment. It's really good. Drinking a lot of water helps as well. You are so right with all of these tips. Just taking the time out to know your hair. And sticking with a regiment as well. Thank you for this video. Love it.

Writing down the products really helps. I used to use a deep conditioner that had garlic in it. I didn't notice/care my hair was growing until I switched the product. My grandma used raw garlic and her hair started growing (she was going bald due to her meds). So I decided to try it out and my hair grew an inch within 16days. I couldn't believe it (my hair usually grows 1/2 inch in a month).

Those were great tips!!! My daughter’s hair is STRUGGLING because as a newly natural myself I’m still try to figure out how to care for her hair let alone mine as well, BUT she is also a kid that can’t keep her hands out of her head and she likes to pull her twists apart not knowing what she is doing 🙄 so she’s ripping her hair. So, currently her hair is in twists and I moisturized her hair last night...I did the mini twist on Wednesday so I’m going to try and grow her hair using these tips along with other naturals who have also grown their hair with twists. 👍🏽 thank you

My scalp is so sensitive to flaking, but since I started doing deep conditioning treatments and herbal hot oil treatments where I massage it in with tea tree, I can catch a streak where I won't have ANY flakes or ANY dry scalp for weeks. It comes back everytime I go out of town somewhere dry, like Colorado or Arizona, but I work hard and can get my scalp back to regular skin within a couple weeks. For the record, I've ALWAYS been a person who needed to scratch the scalp weekly and using medicated shampoo was the only way I could deal with it. I developed my new routine in september and the flakes have largely been gone since then.

My regiment was washing my hair and conditioning it and hot oil treatments and deep conditioning and using my hair cream and l did use relaxer but l would do the stretching of my relaxers l never rush to get that 4 to 6 week touch up and l went to my salon to get it done and did it a few times . But l am 5 years soon to be 6 years and All Natural and l am so so Happy l did and l didn't even really need it but l got it because my natural hair is wavy and l wanted it straight and my curls lose and long hanging but No More Relaxes For Me ! so tell me what is a per poo? And l was wondering if can recommend a good scarf or something l'm asking because l sweat at night and l tried the bonnet and l can't with the scarf like l tried l know it's important for my hair but l sweat with those on too l hate to wear scarfs and bonnets l don't know what to use and sometimes l'll have my scarf on and wake up it's off what can l try Help.? lol Thank You so much for your information and for responding to my questions ahead of time.
