We don’t know her spending habits. Could have spent years wasting money on hair, nails, clothes and target impulses while he could have spent years sacrificing for this. Maybe he wanted a cheap house and she wanted the new house. I need to hear his side before I judge.
Unfortunately it's difficult to change someone who doesn't want to change. No one should be buying big purchases and taking out loans without discussing this with their partners.
@@dedalliance1 Tacomas are good trucks. Only recently has everyone decided they need a heavy duty, lifted, diesel to drive around obnoxiously and never haul or pull anything with.
Gotta love how everyone who comments n thinks they know all, see all, n u can tell everyone dumb enough to read or listen to u on how everyone should n will live their lives....🤮🙄🤨
Uncanny that Dave immediately knew there was a truck involved. Mine bought a huge lifted F250 truck PLUS an Audi s7 without me knowing...now our family, with two young children, is irreparably broken. I wouldn't wish this pain on my worst enemy.
@@dronetrucker Seriously!!! I was thinking these two are only 31 and making a GREAT income for Kentucky! If they just got rid of these stupid cars they will easily become millionaires!
@@costco_pizza easily people in owensboro KY eat at restaurants and drive nice cars, that's it, if they eliminate both like you said they are millionars by 40
I’m 58 year old gamer who just paid off our house .Bought the new Xbox series x and the new headphones .I play online with my son who lives a couple states away. It’s awesome
@@yellomate-tv2pc Yeah, the real cost is in the 1500 hours logged on games instead of activities that contribute to personal growth (unless you're a pro gamer or RU-vidr, of course).
@@ClaxtonBay123 not necessarily. I use the statistics as educational. And statistically, 50% of all marriages end up in divorce. I call that contract dating with financial consequences. Praise to all marriages that succeed and are genuinely happy.
I’m happy I’m not married, had I had one she would have been against me saving for a Corvette Z06, yet she would have hounded me about buying a big house.
As a car dealer, I can say right now is the time to sell a car if you want out of it. Used car prices are through the roof and dealers are paying up. Thousands more than they would have paid a year ago. Especially on something like a late model pickup.
@@tylerwest3820 Selling a brand new of any vehicle is dumb because if someone wanted to spend money to buy a brand new vehicle, they'd go buy a brand new vehicle. Personally unless it's like 5k+ cheaper than I could buy it new I'm not buying someone's 5 month old vehicle because I don't trust them or what they've done to the vehicle or why they're getting rid of it lol. 'Oh my wife's mad I bought this that's why I'm selling' sure it is, sure it is.
My ex low key mentioned in passing- by the way, I ordered a new corvette. BY THE WAY you ordered a 100k car? (75% of his yearly income and of course all financed AND he already had 65k silverado all financed) 🤣 I almost fell over.
45k in debt for two cars is not that much nowadays. Think about it. One new truck is 80k now. You can’t even find a used truck for 30k now. Poor Dave acts like it’s 1956. Look around and look at what stuff cost Geez
I just bought a brand new truck, I asked the wife if she wanted to get a new car first. She said no "she" can't afford a payment. I said ok.. well I'm getting a new truck, and I did 2 days ago and now we are getting a divorce. She has already scratched the paint with sticks and said it's "martial property" so she can do whatever. Now, we ARE getting a divorce because she failed to tell me she is bi-polar before we got married and I just can't deal with her anymore but the question is (we are legally married) when we get a divorce, won't she have to belp pay for the truck if she is "claiming it as marital assets "
I’ve never been married and it’s late in the game for me to get married but, it terrifies me that I might end up tethered you some fool. People can suggest that you know the person well and have applicable discussions before marriage but, they don’t know about the people that get on a long term con game. My mother was and I rid my life of her.
The numbers here don't add up. They have 44K in debt and 80K in savings, so whats the problem ? Pay off the truck tomorrow and maybe sell the Mustang if things get tight. I don't imagine that a vintage Mustang will depreciate that much. Also, do she really need 80K for a 20% down payment in Owensboro Kentucky ? What are they building, a palace ? it sounds like the husband and wife just have different values here.
Tacoma has the highest resale value of all cars, he should be able to sell it for what he bought it for at just a year old. Selling the vintage car should hopefully net back most of what he paid too as long he didn’t over pay. Sell the cars, no brainer
@@saulgoodman2018 He didn’t tell his wife about putting themselves in large amount of debt. That’s not heathy or fair in a marriage. Try thinking a little.
This call was over-emotionalized. They’re 30yrs old. $115k income and $80k in the savings is good. If she could get the husband to agree with seeking a reputable advisor, they’d probably be able to show him on paper of how much they could actually gain in a short period of time, by getting rid of those cars. He’d have enough money to buy better toys by making a small sacrifice
What pisses me off is that had this been a man calling in to speak about his wife they wouldn't have been so nice to him as they are this caller. I have heard several times where Dave has chastised men about not having a written budget and having their wife on the same page. So my question is why did she allow her husband to buy two cars?
In general, Christianity calls upon men to be actual leaders, to make tough calls, and to look out for the well being of their family above their own. If Dave smells BS from a man, you know he will show no mercy. In this case you have an out of control husband with a timid wife who comes into the call admitting they are new to the system and learning the baby steps. You get men who come on here and say they have listened to Dave for years and they're honored to speak to him, then turn around and prove they have not been listening to Dave. So many factors here. Its not sexism, its how you pose your question that will condition a certain response from Dave.
