Welcome to our new VLOG on here! Vlog 28!
This week we take you from Altrincham to Pennington Wharf as I needed to get back for my foot operation.
This video is a little bit all over the place, so we apologise about that as there were three weeks I could not film due to being poorly.
We take you on a little jolly around Pennington Flash - one of our favourite places. Next week we will take you to Middlewich with us which was an absolute ball!

Unless you plan on going to Hollywood to accept an Academy Award for your vlogs, stop feeling guilty! It's supposed to be life on the canal and it is what it is. Nothing boring about this video. I am glad to hear your operation went OK. Pennington Flash looks a nice spot to spend a few hours wandering around looking at the flora and fauna. I often cobble together meals from seemingly disparate ingredients, the results can be surprisingly good. Although not a meal, one recent discovery is a corned beef and cheddar cheese sandwich with brown sauce.

David we do the same. We only had broccoli on the boat that needed to be eaten and we threw Olivia oil and chilli flakes on , added 2 chopped pieces of cooked gammon and roasted it with cheese on - it was lovely. We only had a tiny piece of cheese and 2 small pieces of gammon so not enough for a butty each. Like you say it’s good. Oh I’m gonna try that butty x

Glad your on the road to a full recovery. I am not overweight and look physically fit for 65 but have a heart condition and I also can not walk far with my dog without the heavy breathing starting and have to sit and rest. Had many comments and funny looks from passersby not one of concern always judgmental. That women who had a go at Tony I would have told her to " wind her neck in" and look at her own dog in the heat. Us northerners stand no crap. Love the vlogs yours are my favorite. Keep well and take it easy don't worry about what days or how many vlogs come out we understand.

It’s hard when you’re walking and people judge isn’t it. They do it with Bruce a lot as he is a big lad and people think he is overweight but he isn’t at all . Thanks for the support Colin and hope you’re health is ok too cxxx

We always go for a walk down to Pennington flash, feeling all good about ourselves for doing exercise then cock it up as we then get a cheese burger followed by a 99 from ice cream van. Thanks for posting. It wasn't boring at all! The beginning, with the Barton Aqueduct took me back to when I was a kid. When we were going to visit relatives in the Urmston/Flixton area we used to go over the Barton road bridge. A highlight of the journey was if the bridge was open - not just because of the bridge but because the aqueduct would also open. Anyway, I'm happy that you're over the operation and on the road to recovery.

Bonjour. How ironic, you have a foot operation and then say you have no footage. That was a bit drastic. If I get a heavy breather on the phone I know it will be you. You seem to be the ultimate gongoozelers who track down canal boat traders, particularly food and drink ones. It is about 15 years since I walked around Pennington Flash with three of our Grandchildren. It seems to have been developed quite a bit. It was a lovely weather day. Good to hear you are now mobile, even climbing on and off the boat. Give it two weeks and I'll race you to the burger van... 🤣

That’s how we were it was getting a joke so now it’s meat and salad or one pot meals. We have a pot that you cook the meal in it then throw it in the thermal pot and it stays warm all day. X

We bought our cast iron pot in the spring and saved so much money by using the stove top!!! We should swap recipes. My question is...do you have a cruising plan for next year? We'll be coming north so hope to bump into you. X
