This reminds me of when my Z was towed to my house . I didn't run for 10 years then one day we got it running and daily driven . now it has issues again 4 years later lol!
Hey just wanted to say thank you for these vids! I’m picking up a 1986 z31 turbo tomorrow and look forward to the journey! My father and I have owned every Z since the 1969 Datsun 240z except the Z31.
Thank you! That's so cool, a 240z is definitely on my bucket list of cars I need to own some day. I've been daily driving the Z31 the last month and it's really crazy to think that these cars existed in the 80s. At night cruising down the highway with the digital dash feels too cool, especially when I put on some Gunship for maximum 80s vibes!
So I have an 85 turbo as well. My suggestion is upgrade to the 94 pathfinder ignition control module you’ll have to swap the black and green wire around on the connector and also upgrade to the 94 pathfinder CAS
Have you heard of any issues with the Ethanol based fuels we have causing poor perfrmance, hesitancy, acceleration issues? Back in 1984, there was no ethanol in unleaded gasoline. Let me know if you have heard anything.
Oh there are a ton of issues with ethanol in fuel. Mostly from what I can tell come from sitting of long periods of time. Green corrosion and junk forms in fuel tanks and carburetors. Gotta flush it out if you let it sit. Otherwise seems to provide a TON of performance benefits. Lower cylinder temps, high octane ratings, less detonation, but you also need a lot more fuel than gasoline to get the benefits too.
