The fact I’ve seen people try to defend Uki by saying because he’s (maybe) faced prejudice in the past he can do it in return. Which is stupid as hell, I’ve faced prejudice for being Lesbian I’m not going to do the same to straight people, just because some people were mean to me doesn’t give me a right to be mean to others because of it. It's off topic, but as to something Uki says about the old white people saying hello to him: That's very much a regional thing in the US. If you live in the south, and in the countryside especially, it's much more common to just smile at people and greet them in passing even if you have no idea who they are or intention of conversing. It's just a way of acknowledging their existence and being nice. I've definitely observed that other parts of the country do it either less, or not at all.

ngl, the one that rubs me the wrong way is the white couple clip, I have met couples who are so happy they wanted to share their happiness too. you can tell when something has exclusively comedic intent because it's usually actually funny or at least comes across that way. even then, most people nowadays find it best to just shy away from any racial jokes because even if it is funny, it often just makes people feel awkward. the examples of his jokes are obviously racially driven. maybe the worst part is that they don't really even make a whole lot of sense so they just come across as mildly racist comments.

The hot dog part and the old couple are truly the cringiest crap he ever pulled. The former because he's in a collab with Kyo, a white straight male from ILUNA and his junior while the latter because he felt creeped out from old couple showing him genuine hospitality.
