so ive talked to my professor in HR management about this because this entire debacle is right up her ally. apparently if the company is below a specific employee size (and she said in the video she only has 21 employees) then the company is not bound by the laws of prejudice hiring. still, she was absolutely baffled that not only does such a company exist, but also proudly admits to racism. even if a company had the right to be prejudice, what company in their right mind would want to work with them, especially in a media company?

Do people genuinely not remember all the controversy surrounding Validate during it's inception? Idk maybe it's cause I'm friends with someone who was on the team, so I simply remember a ton more of the shite that went on, but the leader of the game literally stated how she didnt like mixed people, because she thought they weren't black enough. And this wasnt something she said once or was taken out of context from an old tweet, she went on to reiterate this mindset multiple times over several different podcasts and tweets that they made in the coming weeks. They had several kickstarter goals, with the third highest tier being 'we add a white person to the game' which is why there's an Italian at 5:23; but the highest tiered goal was to remove him entirely from the game. Later they revised their kickstarter goals to keep the white guy in the game, regardless of how much money they made, after some serious backlash (and I assume Kickstarter also prolly had issue with one of their goals actually removing content from the game instead of adding, because it wouldve just been them essentially stealing money from their donations, like what the hell). The game initially started with somewhere around 20 different artists and I think 10 writers, all at different skill levels, so each new character revealed was very jarring when standing next to the others, and they ran a twitter dedicated to making memes with the characters and it was just some of the most unfunny shite you'd ever see. After awhile I stopped paying attention to the game, cause I stopped using Twitter, so some of the first few things I mentioned are clearly more egregious, but this is literally just what I remember off the top of my head. I'm sure there's way more stuff that went on behind the scenes that I missed, that we'll be seeing again soon enough.

There is one youtuber at the time is playing Validate, Fritangaplays, and he dunks on it. It’s hilarious 😂

So, she commited two crimes: discrimination while hiring people, and developing Validate (a horrendous attempt at a visual novel/dating sim). Serioulsy, Validate is something I can do on Ren'Py, for free, and in less than a year (and with far better writing).

It really is truly next-level insane how much these people will fumble for excuses for why their own specific racism is acceptable.

I know that one of the best ways for a creative team to be creative, is for them to be different. Different how? Simply different. This woman explicitly states she wants everyone to be the same as her. Thus it follows that she does not value actual creativity.
