I love and hate Neal! I love him because he's Rumple's son and Rumple would go to the ends of the earth (and kinda did) for him, I also love him because he's Henry's father. But I hate him because he throws all the blame on Rumple for his crappy ass childhood and says absolutely nothing about Milah who truly abandoned him. If Milah really cared she wouldn't have left or she would have at least visited him every once in awhile. Yes he and Rumple made a deal about finding a new place to be together but who the crap throws a magic bean into the ground without discussing it first? Even Rumple and Malcolm talked about it before actually going somewhere and Malcolm/Pan is insane!
@KenyaGirly Milah leaving wasn't on Rumple. It was on her. She even tells him she would have preferred he died in the war than come home crippled. Then abandoned her only child to ride off with a pirate who humiliated her husband.
And please let's not forget that baelfire use the dagger to make his father kill somebody and then his father took his memories away about the incident to protect him but it immediately backfired when baelfire realize that rumpel had killed someone and he couldn't remember the reason so he freaked out if rumple hadn't taken his memories away I'm pretty sure Baelfire would have turned out differently

This scene is really a griping moment, showing, for me, that Neal's relationship with his father had more of a stronger and greater impact on me than his relationship with Emma.. Rumple was his life, Emma just happened to be apart of that life.. That this scene really shows that the moment when Rumple gets injured, Neal immediately pushes aside his anger towards his father and holds onto him showing he cares, he still has love for him. So yeah I love Neal, I love his love for family and his father but I can't forgive him for his actions.. And like his father and his grandparents, Neal feared the consequences, in this case its rejection, so they do something about it.. Letting fear overcome love, family and hope... Now, to Killian... Here is man who is filled with revenge. Filled with pain and loss. Who lost hope years ago. He thought he didn't deserve any one not even his brother.. So, here, its just pain and anger...but a reminder what he said to Regina, that once you've accomplished your revenge, what is your purpose? He had no one to return to, no one to love.. And for me, I can see that satisfaction in his eyes once he did the deed.. But it's easy to judge him for his actions as ruthless or outrages.. And yeah it is...but only becuase his past wasn't revleaved yet, but when he was in his most darkest moment, Emma was his hope, light and guidance. They understand each other, both Orphaned, alone, both lost love ones... This scene shows these two things: Neal's will to accept and forgive his father and Killian's getting his revenge.. His heart and mind clouded by pain and loss... And so that's why I love this show.. Showing that both heroes and villains are both flawed... Make mistakes... That everyone has different reasons for their actions...
I wish Neal had stayed with the show. In some ways, he could be for Rumple what Henry is for Regina, and he's interesting in himself. If he and Emma couldn't be together, I could see Neal and Tink.
Also, it would be good for Emma to have another person around who 'gets' modern Earth, and understands what she's talking about and how she thinks, even if they aren't together. Neal was often the voice of common sense, too, and the team really, really needed that. Robin Hood occasionally filled that role, but Neal was better at it.
@@shermanlee4037 I agree. It could have worked. They shouldn't have killed him off because of captain swan. I ship captain swan but I'm sad he was killed because he was wasted potential. They could have co parent henry like regina did with Emma. And rumple would have been broken. Heck they could have given him a love interest that is his true love. In real life it has happen when two ex lovers parent their child but are married to someone else. It could have even portrayed a good example of ( exes who have a healthy relationship) .

Someone explain to me why Captain Swan is better than Swanfire. 1. Hook was a villain that gets pardoned for so many things like ruining Baelfire's life, Ursula's life, etc. However, Neal does 1 mistake- abandon Emma and consequently Henry- and he is not forgiven. I mean honestly, the only reason he did so was because he believed that was the only way for her to meet her parents and be happy. 2. Neal is the father of Emma's child for goodness sakes. She cannot just forget her love for him because of 1 thing. Sure, it was 11 years, but she did love him, and looking at Tallahassee, she still does. 3. Neal has always been so honest with Emma, as seen by their first date, whereas Hook has lied multiple times even while they were dating. The only reason Neal sometimes told half-truths was because he knew Emma would not believe his actual past as Baelfire. 4. Finally, Neal DIED! How can Emma move on so quickly, especially to the person who ruined Neal's (or Baelfire's) life? It just seems so inhumane. Anyway, I do not mean to insult anyone by this post. I am just confused. I honestly respect Hook as a character, but I just feel that there is more for Swanfire than Captain Swan. However, now with Neal dead, I reckon that I should at least try to understand Captain Swan...
Penguin Lover I actually wish Neal could come back or Graham. Emma had so many options Neal, Graham, maybe August or Jefferson. I wish this show could do something like have Emma and Hook breakup (maybe for a while) and have her with someone else. To show not everything turns out perfect.
Penguin Lover Its because a) Neal never apologised or made it up to Emma and b) Hook changed (and did not ruin Bae's life. Rumple did. This 'one thing' he did scarred Emma for life. Really, I pick CS over SF because Hook would go anywhere and do anything for Emma, Neal couldn't face his father. Hook waited for her to make the first move, Neal kept pushing even after she rejected him. Hook builds her up Neal cut her down. Hook pushed her towards her parents when she was angry with them, Neal kept pushing her and Henry apart (or mode accurately, let Henry disrespect her). Hook isn't perfect, but he's a better partner than Neal was Also, so what if Neal if her baby daddy? Doesn't excuse how he treated her and doesn't give him ownership of her.

Exactly! He/She only thinks that just because Neal is Henry's father, which is a stupid reason, especially since Neal betrayed Emma and didn't even make it up to her, Emma is definitely better off with Hook. I didn't even like him until after he sacrificed himself.
Penguin Lover I honestly like both ships, but I tend to favor Swanfire more. Nothing against CaptainSwan or its fans, but it kind of domesticized both Emma and Killian. Made them a bit boring. Neal was one of the most interesting characters on the show right after Emma, Regina, and Rumple. At least, in my opinion he was
Hey look, Captain Swans, what a romantic reunion of your OTP. He bursts in and is so overjoyed that he knocks her into a wall where she bashes the shit out of her head. She returns this delicate gesture with an umbrella pan thingy to the back of the neck. Don't get no better than that. I say the real OTP here is Golden Hook. Killian only had eyes for Rumple from the moment he came through the door. So really, what happened to Emma wasn't so bad. She just got in the path of his true love. :)
Come on they were enemies and she was between him his arch enemy. That's like hating Snowing because Charming assaulted Snow or RumBelle because he enslaved and manhandled her
I liked evil hook too even hook in season 3 wasn’t bad I didn’t like how shit and lame he came when they paired him with Emma if I’m being honest I thought he became boring! and really started disliking his character going into the later seasons I don’t know what the writers did but it’s like Hook was just Emma’s boyfriend and nothing more he didn’t have his own story I mean at least Charming and Snow could be seperate for their own storyline’s but with Hook it was different he was just her boyfriend the writers ruined him they made him too pussy whipped wish they didn’t do that

+Dylan Parker I kinda like Mr Gold too. He is by far my favourite character in Once Upon a Time. The answer for your question is I don't know either. He's evil, cappable of killing someone without feeling guilty about it, creepy when he's Rumple in the fairy tale world and worst than Regina. I guess I just like the actor's acting at Gold.

No, he's not. As Hook himself will later admit, _he_ was the real coward in their initial encounter, and it was Hook who set the whole cycle of hate in motion.
@Francisco Leyva Martin Hook deserved it, honestly. Breaking up Rumple's family. Then breaking up Baelfire/Neil's. I really find it disturbing that he interfered in 2 related men's love lives. Henry better watch out. I doubt Hook would bat an eye about going after his wife/girlfriend too.

kittylvr8 No he didint mean to hurt her and about Hook getting hate, its mainly people hating that CaptainSwan (and Hook) get so much screentime unlike other characters. Alot of them are SwanQueen shippers.
Devin Decoteau I like hook in season 3 I still like him now, but they messed up his character a little, but I won't hate him he's still hilarious plus in season 7 his wish realm is like his season 3 self so that's perfect
But by that logic, Belle cheated on Rumple when she was Lacey when she sneaked off with the Sheriff of Nottingham. The way I see it, both were meaningless, there was no real feelings for anyone involved, so I don't know if it's really cheating. But, yeah, I probably would have been happy if either scene never happened.
kittylvr8 This is season 2 - he still had his heart set on exactly 2 things - his lost love Milah and reuniting with her in death, and revenge on Rumple. Emma was, to this point, a distraction that he found attractive, but still, a distraction. The true love/happy ending realization didn't come til later.
Because she was standing between him and the Crocodile. At this point, Hook is obsessed with vengeance, like a baby version of the Evil Queen, nothing matters but that.
