You really gotta feel for Rumple-neither of his parents got a redemption arc. They were really terrible parents. The kiss he placed on his father’s cheek despite it all kills me 💔
Yeah NEITHER OF THEM loved him. Some people will disagree but at least with Malcolm it's a fact, dude hated rumple. He could literally crush Felix heart without blinking cause Felix was the one he "loved the most" so idc what fans say. He just liked toying with rumple's feelings lying to him that he cared for him etc etc. He really didn't.
@@makaylahswain8517 I don't think cutting someone away from their fate is a sign of love. Perhaps she cared about him to some degree. But I wouldn't call it love. She screwed up his entire life and had she loved him like she claimed she wouldn't have laughed in his face when he asked her why she abandoned him. I know what you mean cause when he was just a baby she really seemed to care. But it doesn't matter cause there was nothing left of that later. It appeared she was just like her husband, using the love rumple has for her to get him to do what she wants

Such a powerful scene but one thing that always annoys me is how no one consoles Belle. I know they’re all shocked but she legit dropped to the floor. Someone hold my girl :’(
@@my_girl_seraphine5294 Same. I'd have looked over when she fell to the ground and knelt down for her to at least have a shoulder to cry on. Even bookworms need someone to cry to once in a while.
That is seriously one of the saddest lines (if not THE saddest line) out of the whole show. The fact that it’s one villain saying it to another villain is SO SAD and HEARTBREAKING
@@rubygracemoseley8144 it shows that he finally came to terms and be at peace with himself, no longer rationalizing his faults and mistakes and trying to put the blame on everyone else, his redemption complete, which is why it’s sucks that they were forced to bring him back like two seconds later, for the sole reason that Robert fucking carries the show, and the stories goes way down hill from that point
@@rubygracemoseley8144 Na I think this is too great to mess with, but instead of having to force revive him, just run a season or two in present day without him, and they can still use him and tell some of his stories in flashbacks, this way they can still use Robert sparingly and let the show run it’s natural course instead of walking back everything in this scene by reviving him, breaking one of their own rules about magic, and ruin the show from there on
Well most of them wanted Rumple dead even before the curse so it would've only made sense if Emma were the one to console her being that she didn't know him as well as the others but that should've happened though
I love how ouat shows the true Peter Pan he’s a villain they see it how the original story of Peter Pan which is terrifying before Disney made him a hero
Wow what a powerful and moving scene. The most selfish man sacrificing himself to save the people he loves the most and redeem himself in his final moments. I sure hope they don't backtrack on this and undo two and a half seasons worth of character development :)
One thing I love about this scene and one thing I hate. The kiss on the cheek Rumple gives his father, showing that despite everything and the abandonment, Rumple still loved his dad. I love that little detail. But what I hate is how no one goes over to console Belle. Look I know that no one was really buddy buddy with Rumple at this point, but Belle is clearly one of the good guys and they should have been there for her.

True, that’s pretty much what I’ve said in the past, they were forced to bring him back and walk back everything in this scene, because Robert fucking carries the show
@@davidstone281 Lana is great but a tier below Robert, dono who bex is, but they did have some crazy talents in the early seasons who left the show and got huge, fifty shade, winter soldier, and moff
This scene is one of the saddest parts of the entire show. I loved Pan and I loved Rumple so this scene was a gut punch. I’d never started crying so fast over one scene. Like I was fine and normal the Rumple stabbed Pan and I was instantly crying. And Pan’s yell when he gets stabbed KILLS me!!! I didn’t think that either one of them would die (and I was right about Rumple) But when Rumple says “Ah but I’m a villain and villain’s don’t get happy endings”.....that hurt me so much. Both Malcolm and Rumple deserved better. This scene was SO heartbreaking it killed me. And the funny thing is I still think that Rumple getting abandoned was worse. Which shows how much that scene hurts me. But I just watched this scene and by the end of it I was basically Belle. When Pan got stabbed I fell to my knees crying and just sat there crying and watching it.
@@adambuglyo7594 literally everyone besides you loves pan 😂you can hate pan all you want but you better not be talking shit about Robbie Kay he had no bloopers cause he’s that good at acting and won a lot of things from his role on ouat
You may have lost your shadow But You're forgetting one thing: Pan: what's that? 🎉 so did I. I sent it away with something to hide I love that moment it's my favorite moment of this scene
See there’s a line here: Belle made Gaston weak, whereas she made Rumple stronger. You see what I’m saying? I know Belle was frozen here, but she should have realized that when she was in the Underworld with Gaston
Also (lol I know I know but I Love rewatching clips even years after) Pan is so freakin powerful not only because his power resides in an entire island but because of the power of Neverland's magic he possesses a very rare type of magic that only he possesses the power of imagination all he needs is to imagine it and it happens as he did in this scene when he took the curse from Regina he imagined the curse to go from her hand to his and he did just that, and the scene before this with the cuff he imagined it to be in Rumple's hand and voila there it was that alone makes him so much more powerful than anyone else.
Emma Neophytou Cancelled would mean that they stopped it because of financial reasons or something like that but they simply ended it because there was no-where else for the plot to go
@@EmmaF There's clearly a difference between a show ending and being cancelled. When the show's story is over, they decide to end it. When a show is cancelled, that's usually out of the show's control, such as bad ratings, financial issues, or low viewership.
Peter Pan - the famous and favorite children hero. Become a bad guy. Everyone thought, he will never die. But now, here it is. The famous, flying boy is DEATH. I don't like Once upon a time. I don't like the series, where bad guys become good (sometimes is not so bad) and where good guys, become bad.
@@ampsoce6778 NOOOOO!!! I love once upon a time and besides... Peter was always a bad guy he kidnapped children and brought them to Neverland... 👶👧👦. If you are an teenager watching Disney you will understand many details...Peter brought Wendy, John, Michael to Neverland and don't want to them to go in Disney...So Once upon a time is made of logic *in a sense*
I think the way that it works, is that they can't do any big movements. You can see their eyes change (I believe Belle gets more teary eyed while she is frozen), Regina looks down at some point.
I never watched ouat when this episode was aired. I came into it at season 4 and had to binge the whole season 1,2,3. I can imagine at the time of the mid season finale this ending was absolutely huge
His dynamic with Emma kinda reminds me of Darth Vader and Luke. Both Vader and Rumple were born with greatness and their choices affected the galaxy and themselves because they wanted power to protect their loved ones, and to cling onto them. It’s only when a person who reminds them of themselves and what they went through but turned out to better and ended up the villain(Vader and Rumple) and gave them a chance to redeem themselves
yeah, welcome to fandoms where the fake moral police does not affect how people feel. Robbie Kay has braved at times awful writing to turn this character into a charismatic mess of issues with sheer acting talent. He made the character an amazing balance of positive feelings largely overpowered by his lower nature, coupled with what habits and instincts he developed when in neverland. People were bound to be attracted by all of it. So yeah, we're all crying over his death because he's "hot".
@Tommy Wall Yeah, I've heard that before too. Pan is apparently immortal as long as he's connected to NeverLand's magic. He gained these powers after abandoning his child. It is possible Rumple's life is directly connected to this so the only way to kill Pan is for Rumple to die before or with him. It is also possible Rumple did this because the seer told him Henry would be his undoing. Rumple may have accepted his death, fearing his family would remain in danger if he tried another loophole.
Pan got what he deserved after what he did to Rumple & Henry, now he's powerless & defenseless as Malcolm after Rumple stabbed him & him begging while his end is near is just so darn delicious. Malcolm was always a sorry coward & always will be
James 4:14 Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away. That scene in this show proves why our life on this planet is but a vapour that appeareth for a little time and then vanisheth away they of course vanished away I personally loved this scene in Once Upon a Time very much it was well done.
This video is good and emotional too and no matter what happens to you I be here heartbroken and cry for everyone including rumple dealing with Peter Pan into uncle rumple dad emotional for it too thanks bye
@@soixsantes Well for one being a fan of Robert Carlyle and his character's development and struggle between being both good and evil. Plus his family dynamic is more interesting if you don't count Elsa and Anna.
@@OrdinaryMan1999-tn4hh you are right, during the series, we discover the dark and mysterious life of rumple, how and why he is became what he is and it's as amazing than sad.
What a stupid death for such a great character. Evil Peter Pan was the only interesting character on this show. The actor who played him was incredible.
s t y l e spoilers: not sure the exact episode number but its when they are taken to the enchanted forest. Belle and balefire revive using the help of a wizard that worked for the wicked witch. However it is a life for a life and baelfire must die, he only learns this when rumple is revived. Rumple manages to bring bae inside him but cannot control it. Later baelfire must sacrifice himself so rumple can control himself and tell emma swan who the wicked witch is
I recently rewatched this season in the first time in years, and it immediately reminded me of why I initially _stopped watching the series._ Rumple keeps getting _screwed over._ Seriously, it's like the writers didn't know what to do with him and thought that wasting our time was better. Rumple was trying to save Henry the entire time this season, even at the cost of his own life; _we the audience knew it._ And instead of it being a necessary character arc for the others not trusting Rumple, it comes off like they're a bunch of narrow-minded idiots who can't get out of their own way. Seriously; the show got _exhausting_ to watch after a while. How many times did Rumple have to prove that he was a _good man_ despite being the dark one? Heck, Regina and Hook got less pushback than he did, and one of them literally steals hearts and crushes them to dust, while the other nearly killed Belle. It just seems like every time Rumple tries to be good, literally no one else gives him the chance. It pisses me off.
I totally get what you're saying and I agree however I still think that can be said for all the villians especially Regina. Her and Gold are in the same boat with that one. Aren't you forgetting that right after this Regina literally counteracts Pan's curse which, in turn, rips her away from her son. The villians can't catch a break in this show.😭
OUAT season 3 rumple sacrifice to save the heroes but he’s alive. Final Season Rumple rip his heart and sacrifice for the heroes and he deserves his happy ending
Perhaps an unpopular opinion, but Rumple should've stayed dead after this. His arc was perfectly wrapped up, from self-preservation to giving up his life for the sake of others. His character was very enjoyable, but the things he did after this season kind of felt like unnecessary setbacks in his journey, only meant to create drama.
Why the hell do so many of you love a pure evil psychopath who was going to kill his own grandson and great grandson as well as the boy's mother, her parents, his adopted mother and his son's girlfriend. All at once
Because he is pretty... its the "halo efect" that also apply to real life, pretty person have easier life's than ugly ones because they have an easy time conecting with people and can get money easier than the ugly ones.
Loved season 3 the way Rumple as well as Regina and Hook grew during this season their character development was great and then they ruined it all with Rumples back tracking during the following season which was just a cash in on the popularity of the movie Frozen. I hated the whole back and during seasons 4 thru 6 and all the drama and heartache with Rumple and Belle during those seasons especially after this moment here it felt like a betrayle of his character growth to have him backtrack so much it was frustrating
you are right, in the season 3 i started at loved rumple, and in this scene he became a hero, and after his resurrection, he and belle are got married and could finally live happily, and later rumple has again succumbed to the darkness and i hated it even more
For those wondering why Peter Pan couldn't just fly away or teleport like he usually does well it's complicated but I'll try to explain it the best I can, When Rumple calls upon his shadow to give him his dagger the shadow fused back with Rumple but at the same time it also fused together with Peter Pan meaning they were now connected through Rumple's shadow thus why Pan couldn't move But man it was tough to witness him die he was my favourite character in the whole series and I just felt like they introduced him way too early because after this season it just felt so usual and not as Exciting as when Peter Pan was there
Peter Pan's two selves don't exactly look alike do they? Also, I wouldn't have thought the dagger was long enough to impale both of them - unless just causing Pan's death caused Rumple to die too.
Belle is like "Oh no, I'm gonna die, and be depressed. I've known this man for 6 months, been seperated from him for 28 years, and then been his girlfriend for 6 months" and Bae is like "I'm just gonna look like I forgot were I put my car keys, and be very disaapointed with myself, looking at the ground" Belle seemed the most broken here, yet Rumple was Bae's father, and I know their relationship was complicated, but still.. Just seemed a bit funny to me...No hating here, Belle and Rumple are some of my fave people, with Rumple actually being the number 1, and Belle number 3
@@soixsantes Yeah, she is heartbroken, which is understandable, I'm with her a 100 percent, I just think that it is weird that Bae doesn't really show any strong emotions. After all, it was his father
@@amalieskjoldaa8268 Do you think people need to just break down when people are heartbroken. Neal’s face clearly showed he was heartbroken. He was also numb and in total shock!
There’s one of three logical paths from this point: keep him dead in the present day, bring him back and continue his redemption, or bring him back and make him a villain. Unfortunately, the writers wanted to have their cake and eat it too, so they brought him back, made him a villain, and STILL gave him a happy ending-with Belle!! Belle, whom he refused to change for, to become a good man for, over and over again. Whom he manipulated, frustrated, betrayed, for so long so many times-and if not her, innocents and even his own family. No, Rumple didn’t deserve a happily ever after with Belle, because every time he had the chance to be better from this moment on he was just the worst person ever. Instead of taking Belle finally standing up to him in season 4 as a moment to reflect, he went further into darkness. Then, when his heart was literally shining it was so pure, he still made the choice to keep the darkness around when Emma had let herself be corrupted so that she could finally banish it for good. I’m sorry, because despite its flaws I really loved this show, but telling us that the toxic relationship between Belle and Rumple was still somehow part of a “True Love” story is honestly unforgivable. If anyone in your life acts AT ALL like Rumple did post-season 3, cut them out of your life. Don’t give them more chances, they’ve made the choice not to improve. You don’t deserve to get hurt trying to encourage them to be a better person, that’s not your responsibility. Yes, he’s an addict, but that’s not an excuse to let someone hurt you and the people you love over and over and over. Forgiveness and love are great, but only when the people you forgive and love are willing to be more like Regina and less like Rumple. Trust me, I’m speaking from experience 😞 I gave a couple peoples many chances as Belle gives Rumple, and I regretted it each time, because like Rumple they refused to truly commit to change.
3:05 he was still liar liar pants on fire, remember origin episode, even after he became powerless & defenseless he would've still tried to weasel his way with Rumple, thank goodness he didn't fall for it & continued to kill him
So When rumple kill himself he apparently takes with him also wouldn’t it be interesting if it’s on the dream realm Belle turned into the dark one and Rumple had to figure way back
Poor Belle, lost her true Love. Hmmmm I didn't know that Peter Pan was Rumples Father!? The character twists in this series is Crazy. Lol....a lot of lost time with loved ones, people corrupted by evil, I remember when Rumpelstiltskin was a baby and his Mom changed his fate? And turned evil? Crazy.....
Why did they have to kill him off he didn’t get a second chance like Zelena Regina Rumple etc see Pan was right about rumple he never forgives and he never forgets yet I understand he abandoned him but let’s be honest they all abandoned there child but Pan was not that bad yet he was stronger than rumple but in season 5 he was changing rumple never gave him a chance that’s why I hate rumple I saw the moment pan let him go he regretted it but I’m going to say the both choose power over love pan wasn’t always bad he blames rumple for his true love fionas death but she never really died the blue fairy lied to him and that’s what caused him to hate rumple but anyways he deserved better that’s my opinion Robbie his acting is amazing him and Robert have the best acting on the show no one can change my mind
How about I end Henry you stay away from my son pan okay bell fire grabs Henry no hey savior how should I end your son huh hey Pam Regina I almost forgot about you
