Carnivore is also good to eat. The proper human diet is Keto, Ketovore, and carnivore.

To jumpstart massive weight loss I ate only sardines and canned mackerel (mostly sardines packed in water) for 7 months and drank only water and some black unsweetened tea. I lost over 150 lbs! I still like sardines but now only eat them three days a week. Rest of the time I eat meat & eggs. Healthier now at age 67 than I was 30 years ago!

One year later, still listening to your videos and trying some of your interesting recipes, I am still maintaining my A1C at 6 or lower. I was truly rescued from an A1C of 14 not wanting insulin. My spikes are so much smaller and I absolutely use Mike the meter. Blessed Good Friday & Happy Easter. Thank you!

I would say the one go to meal would be ground beef and eggs. It is cheap, completely nutritious and would definitely reverse type 2 diabetes. It would also reverse most inflamatory or auto immune issues.

The meals I eat are these: either a burger patty and vegetables, or a section of chicken breast and vegetables, or a chuck of fish and vegetables. I don't use breading, I don't eat any additional bread or rice or potatoes with any of these. I sometimes use vinegar or sugarless ketchup. I drink water with my meals.

4 years ago I stopped the higher cart vegetarian diet and went low carb animal based foods diet. Best thing I ever did for my health! Blood sugars back to perfect inflammation markers down to optimal! Joint pains gone, brain fog gone and feeling fantastic ! So easy and love this way of eating! By the way I love sardines! 3 times a week or more ! Nuts are full of phytic acids and should not be eaten with minimal containing foods, Dr Edin said.

I buy a 14 oz can of salmon each week and make salmon salad. I add pickles and sour cream (instead of mayo) and sometimes add boiled eggs also. Season to taste. I eat a cup on a bed of arugula or salad greens and it is delicious.

Dennis, you revealed my secret. I am type 2, over 60, and not overweight. I am also not insulin resistant according to the test results. I usually start the day with coffee and heavy cream. Somewhere between 2pm and 6pm I have my meal which consists of a piece of un-breaded meat, and steamed green beans or broccoli. This what keeps my BG close to normal.

I have Celiacs and I have learned that I can't eat foods marked gluten free. Most of them have concentrated nuts, rice or oats which send my blood sugar very high. Keto and gluten free are still made with products I can't tolerate. Meat and low carb veggies are just about all that's left. Thanks for teaching me that nugget of wisdom. My daughters told me the other day that they couldn't remember seeing me this small. Priceless 😊

I never buy any box or bag that says Keto on it. It's just as bad. I usually have an egg container full of boiled eggs handy. I've cooked a 5 pound container of ground beef and put it in a covered bowl. There are so many healthier options than eating something with the word Keto on it. Putting keto on the box is just a marketing ploy, in many cases. That's why they think they can charge so much more money for it.

Those keto processed food is fake. Boiled eggs, your own cook meat is food and healthy, even it was not grass-fed beef, organic chicken, it is still better than those fake keto on the shelf. We are human in modern society with all kind of processed food. It kills us. You and me have to cook our healthy food, no sugar, not too much carb so we can stay healthier. Or we all be the same in hospitals and suffering

Yes the problem with manufacturerd products in America especially wheat free and Keto is that the only way to make it taste good and have the right texture is to use GMOs which are worse for us than the stuff we are avoiding. Stay away from anything that has Maltodextrin Dextrose and anything that says modified .All these are bad for insulin resistance and hormones .

I always have hard boiled eggs in fridge. So useful. If you find you need a quick snack, have a hard boiled egg. If you are allergic to eggs. Try eating only the yolk. Its protein, white part of the egg that causes the problem. Or try duck, quail eggs, there is a difference.

I was 5.7 a1c a year ago at my exam. I started low carb last summer and my a1c was 5.5 this year. Didn’t drop as much as I’d hoped but at least I’m not pre diabetic. I’ve dropped 15-20 pounds.

Thank you for posting this ! Great cost effective healing meal . I intermittent fasting and have 2 meals . Jan of this year I tried keto 1 net carb bread and it spiked my glucose to 180 ! So that’s a no go. I’m sticking to what my meter says works . For something sweet I have Good Earth Sweet & Spicy tea caffeine free. No sugar or artificial sweeteners .

I love sardines, have eaten them since childhood, my mum put them on toast, I still eat them with a salad and no bread 👍🏻 I spoke to you last month to thank you for guiding me in the right direction, I just had my blood glucose results back from my 6 monthly check, it said no Diabetes detected! You can imagine how jubilant I am! Will carry on eating the way I do now, Keto/carnivore 👍🏻 from being a vegetarian for 30yrs I decided my health was important so I started to eat meat! I hv been trying to incorporate more protein into diet. Am elderly and hv lost too much weight and was pleased to hear Doc talk about tinned fish. Quality fish is not what it was in my day…..lack luster flavors. Farmed fish as well as mislabeled fish made me wary and skeptical. While not a lover of sardines and other canned fish (with exception of canned Red Salmon) have found a way to incorporate into a recipe….unnoticed! Once every 10 days…. I make double batch of Salmon Croquettes-pattie’s using 3 cans Sardines in oil, 2 cans red salmon, onions, crackers, 3 eggs and /3 C thick white sauce. Toss in what ever you like. ." dried chili pepper seeds and some cayenne pepper. Once in a while I’ll get 4-5 fresh shrimp, 2-3 scallops..from local shrimper selling fresh shrimp, crabs, chop well and include into mix. Form a ball size of ping-pong ball, roll in breadcrumbs and then in beaten egg and back to BC. Flatten slightly, frying in avocado oil, browning well both sides. Freeze well! I eat 2 a day!😜 People loving fish more than me might like other types of fish thrown in. Play around with it. …green pepper, green peas, or even finely chopped broccoli. Kids generally love these fried pattie’s so it’s easy to sneak in healthy veggies.😛 Many people use Mayo as a binder but, i choose not to. enjoy

I love your videos. Unfortunately for me, I have had to give up nuts, and Sardines, chia seeds and soy because of kidney stone concerns. I was never a big eater of sardines but after my kidney stone experience I learned that they're the one animal food that is high in Oxalates. Since I passed a stone I run all food choices through a review of their oxalate levels. Wish I had never heard of Oxalates but after the pain of stones, I have to. I do love your work though!

Natural Citrate from Lemons, lemon water and lemon juice. You can even peel the outer skin and eat the lemon rind. Saw a suggestion to freeze it so shaving the outer skin is easier.

I also run my food choices thru an oxalate list due to kidney stones. All nuts are out including almonds. I limit veggies to low oxalate ones such as lettuce and asparagus. Best of luck to you.

One could change the green beans for another food like swiss chard, or zucchini, or spinach, or asparagus, so many choices.... Same for the burger pattie, it could be other meat or seafood 👍

For the past few months I've been eating a small bowl of lean ground beef swimming in Kerrygold butter along with a generous helping of some kind of low carb vegetable on the side. About 70% of the time it's fresh green beans! It comes out to a pound of meat, 8 tablespoons of butter and about 1 lb or more of vegetables a day. My blood sugar now ranges from the high 60's to the low 80s. Before keto I had to take insulin just to try and keep my blood sugar from sky rocketing to over 300, now I don't need it. I could eat this way for a long time because It keeps me satisfied and I never feel deprived. I also drink green iced tea with stevia and that satisfies my sweet tooth.

You mentioned green iced tea. I wanted to switch over to this . Because of being so weak, I typically buy my tea by the gallon or in bottles instead of using tea bags. So, recently, I bought Pure Leaf green tea in bottles. I literally gagged. My daughter tells me that this brand does not taste like what SHE drinks…..but again, hers is tea bags. So, DO you happen to buy yours in bottles ? THANK YOU.

Canned sardines come prepared in all kinds of ways. Some are more appetizing than others, same goes for canned salmon. I stick with sardines canned with olive oil which taste great on a salad.

I eat Meat and a huge salad with vinegar and oil for my meals And after dinner some 5% plane Greek yogurt. If I don't have fish for one of my meals I have a sardine snack. I skip breakfast I'm off insulin and meds.. Things I put in my salad. Peppers, berries, mushrooms, bacon, cucumbers, almonds. My salads aren't boring. Sometimes I have omlet instead of meat.

This meal pattern is one Ive been following now for 4 years. Yes. I will be doing this for the rest of my life. 4 years off of insulin with blood sugars in non diabetic range. I can never go back to the terrible way I used to feel. That was not living.

I ate a homemade roll with butter on it. My blood sugar went from 98 before to 133 an hour after. I was shocked. Mike, the meter, is our friend!

loved canned tuna and green beans! my father enjoyed sardines, an acquired taste for certain. I over induldge in peanuts. all great recommendations, Dennis. Thanks for sharing your food thoughts!

Eating green beans and a large hamburger patty twice a day for the rest of my life VERSUS severe diabetes, amputation, kidney dialysis, life shortened by 10 years and insulin injections...Uh, let me think about it 😜

There are great vegetarian options like Paneer (Indian cottage cheese) you can spice it up with onion garlic, tomatoes. Eggs are also a great option for vegetarian. I eat raw cured fish ceviche style. I don’t like animals to be slaughtered for me to load up on meat. That’s me. I totally understand and get that beef will cure diabetes but it is not for me. I found sprouted lentils like mung beans has less carbs and more protein and it is satisfying. People talk about gas when eating veggies, however if you don’t load up on them as a substitute to satisfy your hunger, they are fine . The keto diet can be a variety of things. I found out my BP meds metoprolol and then hydrochlorothiazide were making me very insulin resistant. I am off them. I have been on low carb mostly vegetarian diet and maintained A1C below 6 just on metformin for over 8 years until I was prescribed the horrible meds. I make my own almond flour /flax meal roti regularly.

The canned tuna or salmon may be high in sodium. I find the low sodium or rinse them first. But they are great for lowering sugar.

Taking 2 tablesoon of apple cider vinegar mixed with warm water, taken half an hour before any meals will not make your blood sugar to spike. I've tried it and taking it everyday now.

Dennis, consider this. When you eat canned salmon…..salmon Pattie’s…….you ARE eating those itsy bitsy round salmon bones, which are very soft. So, what is the difference in THAT and eating those DELICIOUS little sardines ? I was raised on eating sardines when we’d go out fishing. Never better eating, in my elderly opinion. I “ prefer “ the small slender ones over the huge ones” sardine steak “ ones.

I found a method that works as well and is much more palatable. The Nutrisystem-D diet. The 'D' stands for Diabetic. You have many more choices and it is very doable. I haven't injected a drop of insulin since August when I started the diet! They tightly control your calories and carbs. I've been doing it for eight months, and I highly recommend it!

I microwave a plate with meat (no additive pork sausage) is a default, but works with almost anything ,choice of greens, an agg, whole cranberries, topped with with shredded cheese.. Get two meal out of it. Get variety when eating out with adult kids. Was told almost twenty years ago that I was diabetic. Low carb along with with daily berberine has kept blood sugar in range. Receintly tried a grand daughter sfavorite, Dave's Killer Bagel with butter, only one half, and had the highest reading of my life at 230! They got the killer part right.

Canned Tuna??? I disagree. Tuna is a large fish before being chopped up and canned. Large fish ingest mercury, micro plastics and other "nasties". Personally I would stick to small fish such as sardines.

Many problems are portion sizes .... people claim to be eating the 'right' foods but the portions they eat are enormous... ( American fast food joints etc... ) Eating out is difficult when these companies just don't know what a healthy choice is... Totally agree with you over labelling.... aspartame makes me ill.... I found out what it was by a process of elimination... any 'artificial chemical additives' can't be good... I just let my taste change over the years... I let the flavour of the food speak for itself...makes me feel better.. no salt/sugar.....

I have my kitchen stocked with canned salmon i make salmon patties and they are delicious good for you to has loads of calcium as well. I have sardines to packed in water. I also ear walnuts in my oatmeal. With raisens and organic cinnamon.

In the interest of combating the possibility of a scarcity of available food, I've been hoarding sardines, mackerel, jarred hot peppers, and peanuts for a couple years. Still don't know for sure if I have diabetes, but I have the dry mouth symptom. Will have routine check-up in two weeks with my VA doc.

Stay away from sugar... and stay away from processed, packaged foods. If you eat chicken, beef, eggs, fruits and vegetables... you will be fine. Sweets should be ONLY as a treat and only once in a while!
