Oops!... All Spells Deck Again

​@@Cubeguy7Maybe for this combo played casually. But in most non-deterministic combos, it takes time to play it out. And even this combo, played professionally, would mean you can't just say "yeah, none of my cards are lands" and flip your whole deck; you'd need to flip each card, one-by-one.

@@real_drainer Not in a tournament with Professional REL. Even though you 'know' your deck doesn't have a land in, since it's hidden information, you need to treat it as such and with Professional REL, that means flipping each individually. At best (so long as you have a kindly judge), you can ask to flip it but then your opponent and the judge would have the ability (and probably desire) to check the deck anyway, which takes even longer than just flipping them quickly one-by-one if done properly.

Doesn't beat graveyard hate since you use Narcomoeba and Dread Return and Thoracle all from the graveyard

@@sorin_markov Graveyard hate comes in for the opponent so Thoracle comes out and Charbelcher goes in to dome them for 40+ when you activate it. It's a generally slower (7 mana total) combo but it provides an alternate gameplan. It works similarly to shifting to Nullhide Ferox for discard in a Treasure Hunt Thoracle deck.

@@sorin_markov The Goblin Charbelcher plan uses the fast mana and Irencrag Feat to cast and activate Charbelcher as early as Turn 2. It's just generating a bunch of mana using rituals and free sources, plus MDFC lands, to cast and activate for 7 total mana, and since your deck has no lands, if you activate you win. You don't cast the spy if you're planning to belch.

I built the extremely normal Charbelcher deck in Historic too, haha.

My first experience with Oops, All Spells! was before MDFCs. Much more fun like that.

There's at least three creatures in the deck

There’s quite a few of them, on the front you have an inefficient spell and on the back you have a land that enters tapped. I don’t think they’re competitively relevant other than in decks like this, but they’re pretty neat

My favourite part about Belcher with no lands is that, if you don't kill your opponent immediately, you get to stack your entire deck in whichever order you'd like.

It was way more interesting when the wincon was Angel of Glory's Rise.

The back side (the land) does not exist as far as the game is concerned until we are actually putting it onto the battlefield.

For these cards, the land side is always the back side, so if you’re playing either the back (land) side face up in the sleeve and fetching it that way, you’re cheating.
