+Micah I like Kenny would not want to play for Knight either all that yelling and screaming was the reason that Isiah Thomas left school early. He told his mother about all this nonsense he endured at Indiana in telephone conversations.
funniest part was Dominique said Magic was the guy because he never played with a really great point guard and Steve Smith jumps in and says you played with Kenny Smith hahaha. Dominique says he called Kenny Smith the Easter Bunny.
Chris Ford is a prick. As a sixers fan, i remember he tried to have A.I. come off the bench for a game against the Bucks bcus he hadnt practiced before the game due to injury. That was the game A.i. decided to just sit out and wore a Milwaukee Bucks throwback jersey while on the bench
Fakename70 Scrub players usually make decent coaches. Look at Bill Russell, Isiah Thomas, Magic Johnson. Terrible coaches. Larry Bird was one of the few greats to actually coach a team well. Lenny Wilkens and Tiny Archibald did well, too.
Thank you Kenny and Nique for your honesty.I wish Isiah was up there just to see if he would've defended Knight...( uh oh I said Knight...hope he don't come looking to curse me out)
@@eboooo Jamal Mashburn said this in the Knuckleheads podcast that made me think if Bobby Knight...." Listen to the message, not the TONE of the message"
If I had a coach talking about my family I would immediately demand a trade. As in, I would walk off the floor that second, hit the showers, and head straight up to the owners office to demand a trade. I would pay whatever damn fine the team requires, and refuse to play one more minute for that coach. AND I would go public with it. Immediately. The fans have a right to know why a player walked off. But there would be no second chance. One word about my family and I'm out. What I would NOT do is take the Sprewell route and try to strangle my coach. But that's a whole other conversation.
Not saying I was a university level player, but I would have liked to play for Coach Knight. I am sure I would have gotten more out of my potential and maybe had more of a father figure.
@@JPW3 I like Kenny Smith very much as a player and now analyst. My friends and I got to watch the Houston Rockets practise in OKC during preseason in 1994. So cool.
I was expecting some of those guys who played forwards to say "Don Nelson" as he tends to play the PF as a center and wing guys as a guard. Certain guys like Chris Webber will tell you that Don Nelson is a good coach, but not a guy you might want to play for.
If a coach starts talking shit on a personal level, he's not a great coach, he's just a douchebag. You can be a great coach without getting personal with the players.
Personally, I like the Popovich, Lenny, K, or the Daly better but Isn’t he in HOF? I know that Coach K learned from him when he played for him in West Point back in the 1960s. And at least an Olympic gold medal for US Men’s BBall 1984 that had MJ.
A question like that is a host's nightmare as things could have easily gone down in flames. Those guys could've torched their old coaches and maybe even teammates, old hurt feelings could've come out, things could've gone really bad in quick. That question should never have gone out interesting as it was you need to avoid that.
I think they talk about the questions first off the air just before they shoot and do the section again after. Just like the journalists usually give out the questions to an interview first before filming so it would go smoother in the interest of limited time and the person being interviewed does not get hijacked to be on record live. I don’t think this was ever filmed live and raw (or unedited).
