Karen really was the love of Dan's life, he was always in love with her, and he never loved Deb at all. He never looked at or kissed Deb the way he did with Karen, because he loved Karen. Had he not killed Keith, Karen would probably have stayed together with Dan.
@@lokpriya6885 I’m sorry but have you even watched the show?? Dan made so many mistakes with his loved ones, and treated them all so horribly until they couldn’t take it anymore and didn’t want him to be part of their lives. Dan dug himself into a black hole, and instead of trying to change he blamed Keith for his problems because he was jealous of him, jealous that everyone liked him better since he was a good person, and Dan was not. Every character had flaws, Dan definitely had the most flaws out of everyone. But I’ll never forget the look of betrayal on Keith’s face as his brother points that gun to his chest. Even though they had their differences, Keith loved his brother, and never thought he would be the one to hurt him most, and end his life. It isn’t Keith’s fault that Dan abandoned his son, neglected his wife, mad enemies and etc, etc, etc. perhaps if Dan was a better person to the people around him all of this could have been avoided, and if he was a better brother Keith certainly would have never hurt him at all, that I’m sure of. But I’m sorry to say that Dan deserved it, he was a terrible person and his mistakes and actions are solely on him, nobody else. It is no way Keith’s fault that he was murdered by his own brother. That’s on Dan.
I don’t think Karen would have stayed with Dan. Huh?? The only reason they got together is because Keith died. She would have been with Keith and living happily with their daughter. I agree with everything else though.
Dan should have been given that chance. The writers and director unnecessarily messed it up. Keith could have gotten married to Jules and Dan could return to karen after his divorce with Deb. That would have been so relieving. Like the goodness in every one should give them that chance. And they were like 34 or 36, cause lucas was 17 then. That's not too late to marry your high school sweetheart..
I don't think anyone thinks that, everyone knows what he did to keith is unforgiveable, but I believe people who are sensitive and have seen more to life know that even a murderer can be pitied and it's also possible to see the good in someone who is bad, because there's good and bad to people. Just because someone did certain immoral things in life it doesn't mean you have to ignore the good they have done or not feel sorry for the troubles they have faced.
The story of Dan is that of tragedy, some people love to hate him, for others he's the exercise of being able to love someone despite him having done horrible and unforgivable deeds...As his story goes to show no one is truly horrible inside
Sometimes I wonder if he hadn't left for college, would he still be with Karen and not Deb? Would Nathan even be born. That and would Keith and Karen have ever been together. I'd like to say that some good came out of his bad decisions like the boys, Karen and Keiths relationship, etc.
It may seem twisted, but even though he is over come with grief for killing his older brother, and pain for knowingly ripping out his out heart and the heart of the Only woman he has ever Wholely Loved the way way he talks about knowing he lost and that he should have stayed with her And their Son is beautiful and Romantic on deeper level, it just Makes Dan More Sexy and Rare and in a way strong ad what every woman wants, I love you Dan your one of a kind I wish they would have let him and Karen be Happy
@@swagymicswagger maybe but he'd still make his life hell either way. I honestly don't fully get why Keith stuck around for all those years with Dan around. I understand taking care of Karen and Lucas but still. Even before then.
@@trinitylivingston1286 Dan’s life was already hell. Keith was going to marry Karen, and Dan couldn’t do anything about it, but if it weren’t for Deb not telling Dan about her being the murder suspect in question, Keith would still be alive, happy, and Dan’s life would be hell
I’ve been wanting for years after Keith’s death, to have a duel double that actually was a dead ringer for Dan and who killed Keith. Yes,I know like a very bad soap opera but keep in mind this was a soap opera after all. Not to mention after a season or two of thinking that Dan had murdered his brother and he got sent to prison for it. It would’ve been a very interesting storyline to have this mysterious guy popped up out of nowhere. That was a dead ringer for Dan. They could’ve had a back story where there was a cousin that look like Dan or even another half brother. After all Abby Brown was the only witness that saw Dan shot Keith. She witnessed it through a blind in an empty classroom. While she was experiencing a diabetic coma episode, brought on by stress. So the guy would not had to perfectly look like Dan, just passed enough to look like him. I was so disappointed when they brought back season five and they did not include this in the storyline. I thought with that cheerleader, that was married to Nathan’s childhood friend and they had a baby that look like baby Lucas and was name after Nathan. I really thought they where going to have her come back towards the end of season five with that kid and handing the kid over to Dan. that day and has no idea why! Only to find out later, was the duel double’s kid. An if you’re wondering who would do such a thing and why? Well your member Andy, The man that Karen was dating and left to go back home for Keith. At the end of all the bad stuff she ended up with him anyway. Andy being the multi millionaire. Had all the three perfect elements to a villains plot. Means, motive, and opportunity. Not to mention, middle age Dan Scott, Who is right-handed for 2 1/2 seasons. One day decide to pick up a gun to kill his brother using his left hand. He used his left hand, so well that he killed his brother in cold blood!
Nawinter It definitely could've worked and been a do-over of sorts. But once Lucas and eventually Karen found out he killed Keith that was just it. I think the only reason Deb and Nathan and even Haley forgave him in the end is because they saw a better version of him.

All of the characters constantly reminding Dan of what he did no matter what he did for the longest and I understand why. Killing someone is a terrible thing but idk. As a viewer I just think the writers should have took it in a different direction. Keeping Keith around.
@@dagameplayer I mean no one ever talks about how deb is no better than Dan why is she so angry that he killed Keith? She tried to burn him alive like tf what she did was arguably worse than what Dan did because Dan was convinced Keith tried to kill him so it was almost like payback when he killed him he thought they were at war and probably assumed Keith would try to kill him again. While Deb tried to burn Dan alive just because he did some bad things but nothing close to as bad as murder.
.... It's funny. Everyone missed the episode where the psychologist told Dan that after Keith's death, the way was clear: the way to Karen and Lucas. I don't think Dan loved Karen or Lucas... He needed them because Keith loved them. Why did the brothers have such a relationship... It is a mystery, since this topic is poorly disclosed in the series. But one thing is clear from the excerpts: all the malice in Dan and his whole life was built on hatred, anger, thirst to take a place and, oddly enough, great love for the Whale...Keith himself is the reason why Dan killed him...this apparently comes from the family, from the relationship of parents to their children. Some people write that they say Keith slept with Deb, but this is a trifle compared to how much trouble Dan brought to his brother, if you believe the rare childhood memories...Everything has been going on since childhood: how Dan cut his hand...and the elder brother was punished... Therefore, I believe neither Deb, Karen, nor Lucas are the cause of Keith's death. If there had been another woman with Keith, Danny would have made Keith happy...
I don't think Dan needed to stay with Karen when they were teens. I think the relationship could have been saved id Dan hadn't shot Keith, if someone else had. And if Dan told the truth about his neglect of Karen and Lucas all those years.
