Hi, I'm 44 years old and I'm from Colombia. In 2008 I was diagnosed with UC and since that date I've been on several medications, the last one was Simponi, which I was in remission for 4 years, because it stopped working last December 2022, and since then I've been bleeding every day. I have lost 20 pounds, I feel tired of being on medication, and I made the decision to look for other alternatives, and thank God I found your channel 3 weeks ago, I began to implement kefir, and today I start with fermented vegetables. I miss eating my typical Colombian food such as arepas with cheese, empanadas, beans with rice and more, I have no relatives with this condition, I have faith in Jesus that my health will improve and I will reach my old age with the people I love.

30 Hz vibration Whole Body Vibration----> The rodents received 20 minutes of WBV each day of the week for 4 weeks. The WBV had a frequency of 30 Hz and an amplitude of 3 mm. After the 4 weeks had ended, the team collected and analyzed the rodents’ adipose tissue. The researchers also performed similar experiments with WBV and assessed the rodents’ microbiomes by examining their stool. The experiments revealed various changes as a result of WBV. A crucial finding was a 17-fold increase in a gut bacterium that plays a key role in inflammation. The bacterium goes by the name of Alistipes, and its role is to raise levels of short-chain fatty acids - compounds that lower inflammation in the gut. Previous research has found low levels of the bacterium in people with Crohn’s disease and inflammatory bowel disease, explain the researchers. Among the short-chain fatty acids that Alistipes bacteria help release is butyrate, a metabolite of dietary fiber, which can reverse the negative effects of eating a high-fat diet. Drs. Yu and Baban also explain that Alistipes help ferment the food in the gut and improve metabolism in general, helping the body use sugar to create energy.

Hopefully some break throughs get made for folks with chronic slowed digestion like myself. Feels like a constant block of concrete in my stomach for most days per week. I've considered the j pouch procedure because of it. Fantastic channel though, it offers me lots of food for thought

It's interesting how different experiences people can have. Obviously... j pouchitis and colitis are two different things... I feel like I don't understand how can people with colitis feel a reaction from food in an hour or so, whole the food gets into the colon in at least a few hours to whole days time. Maybe it's more complex. The body reacts while is starts digestion? I personally feel weird when people ask me about trigger folds. I have no idea. So maybe Kenny has very similar colitis to mine?

Hey Kenny, I would like to ask what’s your take on chicken broth. Right now I’ve been drinking cabbage juice, kefir milk, fermented foods like kimchi and my diet has mainly been rice with cooked vegetables like carrot and broccoli with chicken or salmon. I also eat smoked salmon with white bread(low in fiber and can handle). So far I haven’t been able to tell if I’m healing since it’s only been a month and I’ve been diagnosed since two years ago. But I feel I’m on the right track after removing sugar and fatty foods completely. So my question is whether you’ve ever tried chicken broth for its collagen, which I’ve heard is very useful for healing the gut lining. Thanks - Narayan.

Yes I am a big fan of bone broth, made from either chicken or beef bones. I think it is a great addition to a gut health optimization protocol. Wishing you the best!

@@team_honnas thanks Kenny, another thing I would like to ask is whether the blueberries in the smoothie are meant to cause some irritation in the colon after drinking it. I’m not sure if I am at the stage where I can drink them but maybe everyone experiences some irritation. For me it feels like a slight stomach pain before needing to go to the toilet.

Hello thanks so much for this video and interview. It's been really helpful. I've not been diagnosed with IBD but doctors first thought it was an abcess, then I was told it's a fistula, after my MRI I'm being told that there seems to be some inflammation. So far, I'm pursuing things with colerectal, gastro and gynaecology. I'm also trying to get dermatology involved. But it's been a long process here in the UK :( My colerectal specialist has also prescribed me Ciprofloxacin. Can I ask if anyone has taken this antibiotics after how long did they start to feel better? Initially, I was prescribed Erythromycin but I went back to Drs and said it's something I'm allergic to as it's penicillin. I've been diagnosed with an inflammatory skin condition known as Hidradenitis Supparativa. Specialists still haven't clarified the situation about my digestive issues. I'm just really confused about the whole process. I'm doing everything I can to reverse my symptoms through intermittent fasting and water fasting for a day or two. However, been trying veg diet and that's helped a little. Any advice/ tips would be really helpful. I honestly hope everyone heals as it's a traumatising condition to live with. Kenny you've just earned yourself another subscriber! :)

I bought raw milk yesterday and my stomach went wild…did you or anyone in the comments have a similar experience with that as cabbage juice? I know symptoms got worse before they got better..:just wondering if I should keep on
@team_honnas
@team_honnas Год назад
Definitely recommend consulting with your doctor about these types of things before implementing them, and only if they approve! I would personally recommend discontinuing the cabbage juice, and the raw milk for that matter, if they’re actively causing an increase in symptoms. I don’t think it’s a good idea to simply push forward for the sake of pushing forward as that could potentially be disastrous. Once again, I think it’s very important to be working and staying in communication with your doctor so that you can receive appropriate care. You can make kefir using pasteurized milk!

What are your thoughts on homemade water kefir? I have been having it for a few months now. Do you think not as effective as the diary kefir? I have UC.
@team_honnas
@team_honnas Год назад
I’m a big fan of water kefir, but the bacterial strains in water kefir grains are different than the ones found in water kefir grains. From what I understand, the bacterial strains in milk kefir seem to be more effective in improving symptoms and the underlying issues in the gut microbiome. Still think water kefir is great to add into a gut microbiome optimizing protocol, but I think milk kefir or coconut milk kefir made from milk kefir grains will likely have more of a therapeutic effect.
