Only downside to the 4.30 and 4.64 rear ends these have! They run out at the top end without the 5 speed...

One of my favorite things about the R50 is that it’s relatively skinny. It’s an attribute I really appreciate on the LR3&4s- those vertical sides maximize interior space while maintaining a trim width.

Good question! I forgot to mention, I replaced my muffler with a Magnaflow 18” 2 into 1 muffler. I also have Walker cats and the stock resonators deleted from the muffler back. All the work was done by Automotive Excellence in Huntington Beach CA and I highly recommend their shop.

Bit biased but go for the Q. Better standard equipment; Hid headlight up and down adjustment from a switch located inside by the driver door panel, rear window hatch release switch, memory adjustment driver seat. I’m sure there are a few others I’m forgetting

Depends on what you want! I like my Pathfinder SE quite a lot because of how FEW features it has- they won’t break. :)

Thank you! The skid plates are the 4x4parts.com full plate set back to the transfer case. Not sure what details you need on the sleeping platform but it’s all 3/4” Red Oak plywood, and it took about 3 weekends to complete.

With the Old Man Emu springs and the 1” HDPE lift block in the front it was perfectly level. Now with a full tank of gas 50k after install it leans to the left about 1.5” on the drivers side rear.

Yes 245/75r16 will fit fine but you will need to trim the front bumper. It’s an easy job, you just need some fender screws and a decent saw or sawzall

They’re Wet Oakleys I bought off a forum member in 2015 I believe? They’ve lasted really well- 60k on them and the stock seats still look new!

Stick with the manual transfer case

I've owned a 2002 since new & while it is "cool" to have a manual shifter, the ATX14A transmission with the AWD is EXCELLENT and gives you an all-wheel drive option that you don't get with the manual. The AWD aso has a better crawl ratio in 4Low than the part-time 4WD. While I grew up driving manuals, honestly, MT is better for offroad for most people. It allows better incremental control. Just as an FYI, 2003 & 4 are drive by wire and their LSDs have lower breakaway thresholds than all other models. I recommend you look into the NPORA forum online if you are truly interested in a group of people with experienced advice.

Was my daily for 5 years, never failed me. Now it’s my weekend car for the past 5ish years, I’ve had two other dailies in that time. The only time it left me stranded was about a month ago after an accident but I don’t blame it. I’ve never seen data confirming a different crawl ratio for auto vs manual transfer cases. The advantage of a manual transfer case is if it breaks in the field it’s easy to manipulate yourself from outside the vehicle. That said I’ve wheeled with folks with the auto transfer case and I’ve yet to hear of a premature failure.
