We check out a Paslode 16 gauge lithium ion finish nailer that the customer brought in because it will not fire.
The customer said it jammed up last year and wants us to figure out why he keeps having issues.
We show the most common causes of no spark or not firing in a Paslode cordless nailer nail gun brad finish or framing and how to easily fix the cause.
The cause of this can also lead to jamming because the driver may not fully have power to drive the nail or return to place to fire another.
We go over a thorough diagnosis with full easy troubleshooting process then repair it
This exact troubleshooting process can be applied on almost all models of these Paslode Impulse nail guns and nailers although the process does vary slightly
This was shown on a Paslode model IM250A 916200. The upgraded version, the 902400 can be purchased at amzn.to/3GqPIDA
Yellow fuel cells can be purchased at amzn.to/3tbiRQb

They are interesting, worked on them for years the overall design has not changed a whole lot since they were made just made better. Only cordless nailers I would ever own. Thanks for watching!

I didn’t even know they existed! Very cool. If the fuel is butane is there a way to recharge the cartridge the same as lighters? Also, what exactly causes the cell to expire other than running out of fuel? Is there some kind of built in obsolescence triggered by number of uses or what?

This is actually a Butene and propane mix as I understand it, which goes bad quicker than butane. I was looking for a point to add a note and did not think I said butane, which is what I normally refer to it as (even though it is not). Thanks for the note and for watching!

These guns have been around since the 90s. Gas comes with the nail packs. I can’t believe you’ve never seen one.

In 2024, my gas expired in 2019. I tried some other unused canisters that expired in 2019 and it worked for a bit. My issue was old gas canisters. I bought a new battery.
