Ingredients:
2 tsp Matcha
1 cup Hot Milk
2-3 TBSP Mint Syrup (Recipe Below)
Crushed Candy Canes (for garnish)
Optional: Peppermint Extract (a couple of drops)
Mint Syrup:
1 cup Sugar
1 cup Water
1 cup Mint Leaves
Optional Mint Whipped Cream:
1/2 cup Heavy Cream
3 TBSP Mint Syrup
Instructions:
1. Mint Syrup:
In a pot, combine 1 cup water and 1 cup sugar.
Heat until sugar dissolves.
Add mint leaves and heat until leaves are just about to wilt.
Remove from heat and let it cool. Strain to obtain the mint syrup.
2. Mint Whipped Cream (Optional):
In a bowl, combine 1/2 cup heavy cream and 3 TBSP mint syrup.
Whip with a hand mixer until peaks begin to form. Set aside.
3. Matcha Latte:
Sift 2 tsp matcha into the bowl.
Heat up 1 cup of milk and pour it into a bowl.
Whisk until the mixture is frothy and bubbly.
4. Assembling:
Pour the matcha mixture into a cup or glass.
Add 2-3 TBSP of mint syrup to sweeten and infuse the minty flavor.
Optionally, add a couple of drops of peppermint extract for an extra burst of flavor.
Top with a dollop of mint whipped cream (if using).
Garnish with bits of crushed candy canes for a festive touch.
