Picking up my NEW 2019 Ranger! - first reactions and thoughts

I got my ranger a week ago today. Each day I love it more and more.

Nice looking truck. I’m not a pick up truck fan, but I had a Ranger a few years ago in Spain. I liked it (mazda did an identical version too).

Fill up the bed with a bunch of stuff for size comparisons. Maybe furniture or something? Take a trip to the hardware store and fill it up with a bunch of wood? See what’s it’s really capable of and how big really is.

Thank you for sharing. I've driven pick-ups for many years mostly full size - currently driving an F150 super crew 4x4 with V 8. I like my truck but I am considering the Ranger. I like the color and wheels you chose. Would like to have your opinion on its off road capability pretty sure you won't be able to provide a report on driving in snow and ice. I live in NH and winter means lots of snow and lots of ice as our weather changes. How about putting some passengers in the back and provide feed back on comfort and room. Please tell us about milage, seat comfort on longer drives, the stereo sound, does it need in your opinion a sub woofer if it does how and where? That may be a bit much to ask. What is the biggest tire you could mount? Would like to see the dash at night. That is enough for now, I'll keep watching and thanks again. Bill AKA Dung Teller

Also my buddy has a truck and got a truxedo bed cover. Makes everything waterproof so you can use the bed more. I know yours is a lease but might be something worth investing. Keep up the good content I enjoy non scripted videos just as much as the scripted ones. Keep up the good work!!

Looks like you got the factory bed liner with the extra 110v plug in the back. Just curious-what made you decide to go for this instead of the factory spray-in bed liner? It seems most of these on dealer lots have the spray-in, so I’m curious why you went this direction instead. Personally, I’d probably do the bed liner like you have as well.

I'm interested in seeing a video showcasing the lighting at night, both interior and exterior (LED fog lights, brights, and any interior lighting). Thanks!

Thanks for the video. I really do not understand most comments about your looks and quality content of your video, just sad. In terms of looks, the Ranger looks great compared to anything you put up against it. I like what Ford in US has done to enhance the overall presentation. I like the LED rear lights and the tailgate, really smart. Strangely, the front looks different to other Rangers across the world... I also noticed in another video, a Ranger in the US having just one leaf string blade, odd... I think this current Ranger will age better than previous Rangers and I hope you will enjoy many miles of driving.

Some rough people commenting on here. Anyway, nice truck. I think Ford showed up with this model and I agree the Bronco should be successful.

Some tips: 1. back trucks in. 2. the sun right into the camera blows. I like your taste in vehicles, I'm considering a Ranger myself and currently have a 987 Cayman S. Can you tell me more about the for Ford 360 capabilities in a future video? Was the adaptive cruise just a hickup?

Were you able to confirm that the adaptive cruise control had start-stop or not? I couldn't find any info about the Ranger's ACC that also mentioned "start-stop," despite the fact that it was mentioned for other Ford vehicles.

I absolutely hate auto start/stop. If you disable it via the button does it retain that setting or do you have to disable it every time you start the truck?

The ranger has been out for a couple years now and the only one I’ve seen on the road here in North Carolina is mine.

Hi, This is my first time visiting your channel. I´ve always loved the ranger since my dad had a 1989. I would like to see how the 2019 North American version of the Ranger compares to the one we get in Latin America, Europe, and Asia-Pacific regions. We have had that "New" Body style since 2011 with different trim levels. The "Wildtrack" was the most capable it had a 3.2 In line 5-cylinder turbo diesel engine "Duratorq TDCi". For 2019 I believe we are getting a brand new "EcoBlue 2.0 bi-turbo" out putting either 180, 213 or 238 HP depending on the trim level of the model. Anyways a think it would be a great comparison of the "same" truck.

What kind of MPG are you getting?

Had mine for 3.5 years now. Get a rollerdeck cover for the bed if you can.

What are your thoughts on the US raptor maybe coming in 2022?

Saw one at the dealership while I was getting an oil change on the F150. I thought it looked very nice and it was very comfortable when I sat in it. I liked that it was easy to get into even without any side steps. However it seemed a little bit narrow for me. I have gotten used to my F150 and I am not sure if I would be able to adapt to the smaller size and the lower stance of this truck. I am sure that Ford will sell as many of these as they can. I also thought it was a brilliant idea to have the final assembly in the US since that seems to be a big selling point for many truck buyers.

I guess taking a shower before picking up your new truck was out of the question.

I hate the auto stop/start. It may save on fuel, but beats the heck out of your starter and battery. The price of a new starter and battery buys a lot of fuel.

I have a Fusion Hybrid, and I am expect that your MPG in the Ranger will not be as good as the Hybrid.

I test drive one and the road noise was unbearable, has anyone else noticed this

I like the color, i do not like the tiny fuel tank, i do not like the 1 eng. choice, i do not like the high price, i do not like steel body that will rust, F150 much better truck.

Nice truck but 45K + for a mid size lariat is nothing short of insane. Couple things that should be fixed from carry over's on the mid cycle refresh from 2015. First the center stack full of tiny ass buttons and car/like layout has got to go. The back seat does not fold flat and only halfways at angle. Worthless design. 10 speed is what gives me pause. GM/Ford designed this and its already having issues in the full size trucks from both GM/Ford. The newer transmissions that are coming out in the last few years are really advanced with lots of electronics etc.. IMO, if there is going to be a problem its going to be with the 10 speed. I saw a XLT at dealer FX-4 at my dealer for 39K. It's a nice truck but not competitive in segment. I ended up buying a Nissan Pro X 4 frontier. Bullet proof. Has the same as this with undercarriage plates, real locker, bilstein shocks and offroad suspension and all terrain tires. Just as capable as XLT. Except it also has 10 speaker rockford fosgate /sub stereo and leather. Also has sunroof. And all for under 35K. Nissans 4.0 is bullet proof along with 5 speed. You can drive it 300K miles. So with tax, title, and 100K 10 years warranty with no deductibles I have the Pro 4X for under 38K. Less then a XLT which does not offer any of the luxury. You have to pay 46K like this truck to get to that level. Just not worth it.
