The Dogma is a modern design classic. Over the years it has gotten much more aero, a lot stiffer and a bit lighter, though weight has never been the primary focus for the Italian company
Following the recent launch of the latest Dogma F, I got the very lucky opportunity to look at how the Dogma has evolved over the past ten years from the Dogma 2 launched way back in 2011 through the transformation with the introduction of the F8 in 2014, and how much the new Dogma F really owes to the bikes that came before it

you know, when the F8 came out, everyone was selling their 60 and 65 off, and since then ive been wanting an F series... but the longer i hold onto my 6 series, the more i think i will keep it for the rest of my life!

F8 is the cleanest, most balanced looking of the lot. Put some direct mount rim brakes (i know it can’t take them) and you’re set!

I'm going to make room for an old but gold F8 in my stable. I think it's a design icon.... the lines on a 51.5 frame is stunning.

Really nice work David to get access to a collection like that! One of my friends has the F12 with SRAM Red eTap and although he loves the bike he says his next will be a Colnago. I must admit Pinarello never did it for me but I do appreciate how they've built a huge reputation based on performance of Team Sky / INEOS and the price tag makes them very exclusive, that adds to the mystique around the brand too. Not my cup of tea but if I had to go for one it's be the new F and build out the frameset with campy groupset and wheels.

Amazing how Pinarello constantly followed its ideal to have one bike to rule every terrain being both: focussed on the passion of cycling and ahead of time.

Love my F8, it was a radical change from previous incarnations and love riding it. Rest of the F range are just tweaks to me of a design that was already close to perfection.

Like Porsches, the latest is always the best, might not be the best looking, but always improving on the previous. I have a 2000 Pinarello Prince SL the top of the range back then. Never felt the need to buy a new bike I loved the geometry, looks , feel, everything of my Prince. This week I just bought a new bike, the Dogma F, the first new Pinarello which stole my heart.

Great work David. I have a question though. I know the F is only compatible to electronic groupsets. Is it compatible with the Dura Ace 11 speed Di2 (9170), or just the new 12 speed? Thanks

First! Truly are stunning bikes, confident I will purchase one again. Only had the GAN previously, but enjoyed the ride. Currently ride the 3T strada (purchased on the back of your review). Italians do the make the best bicycles. Keep up the good work, david.

the 65.1 think 2 with the campagnolo 80th anniversary group on it is exactly the same as the one valverde rode at movistar. except the wheels, his had the 80th anniversary bora wheels too

how bad are rim brakes with carbon rims in wet/damp conditions ? s it completely no-go ? Imagine i'm riding in a cloud or fog (no rain but everything is wet), can i stop my bike? or for first 10 meters brakes don't slow down the bike ?

@@paulhowell7103 yep, i guess it depends, but some ppl say it's really bad (when it's wet/damp - like no power at all) and i want learn about it, before making an upgrade

@@razorree If you're really worried about stopping in the wet just buy a set of wheels like the HED Jets or Bontrager Auras. They have aluminum rims with carbon farings. I use HED jet 4s for climbing days. Aero benefits and no worries about stopping power on the descents, much cheaper than "upgrading" my Dura Ace bike and groupset from rim to disk.

I would take the F10 with rim brake. It’s the most iconic due to all those TDF wins. Oh btw those “old rim brake things” were chosen by Pogacar to win his 2 stages of the Tour this year

The frame sets as well as some of the carbon components are made in Taiwan. I already have a Grevel with Campagnolo 1 x 13 EKAR for the past couple of years, and have on order now a Dogma F with Campagnolo SuperRecord wireless, Campagnolo Shamal Carbon wheel set with Vittoria N.EXT tubeless. It will have the Speedster Silver paint job. The frame prep and painting is done by Pinarello in Italy. @@galenkehler

if the only frameset of the new F model costs 5,300 pounds why does the f12 cost you the same just for the frameset? why there are still f8 and f10 costing 5,000 pounds for the frameset only why they don't reduce the prices of the oldest model...

If that’s your only criticism I’ll take it! ;) I film these all myself so lots to remember to do and clearly I didn’t realise I hadn’t put the bottles back in correctly. I’ll try harder next time 😎😂
