I bought this off Ali Express. I was a loyal GEM razor user for many years before I grew my goatee and went the way of a Mach 3 for convenience. Now 5 years later I had to go with the bald head shave , and have the time to enjoy wet shaving again so I restarted. I WANT this razor to simply be what you say it is in your video. Part of me is skeptical your not a paid schill for whoever foots the bill, but the better part of me really hopes your just a knowledgeable kid who oddly gets titillated by wet shaving , who can’t control the octave of his voice when he does reviews and is excited. I’m hoping this thing fits together nicely. Shaves efficiently, and looks and feels like it’s well made. I know Subie is knowledgeable enough to spot garbage, so not only is my hope for the shave I’m looking for at steak, my perception of this channel is too. I sinceeeky hoping in a month or 2 I’m here watching your videos with a BBS head and face.

It's a beautiful razor, and at a price that I am still blown away by. I stand by what I said as nothing is scripted. This my reaction and my impressions for the Shield Predator SE - what you see is what ya get. I completely understand your skepticism - and I think everyone should view the world with scrutiny. When dollars are hard to come by, and there's more gear out there than drawer space, I hope my review is helpful. That's why I do it. Keep in mind - our skin may be different, and our preference may not be the same. With that said, I truly enjoy this gem razor - especially for the dome 👍 Thanks for the comment and for giving our channel a chance.

@@SubieShaves if this turns out to be what it is supposed to be I’ll be buying his other two models instantly. In an era where a good razor made of titanium starts at 2 to 3 hundred , Shields aggressive pricing and Ali Express distributor leaves the customer skeptical. Especially when BullGoose has the same razor at twice the price. Subie, Bald guy ti Bald guy. If you could only use one razor to shave your head, which razor would you choose? Make the hard choice man. What type? Strait? DE? GEM? What model?

Nice! I've been waiting for a review of the Predator, and it looks like a winner. If I pick up one the one thing I'd do other than torch color it, would be to round the corners a little bit. They don't look sharp, but I think it would look even better. I like the thin head design and with how stiff a Gem blade is it's surprising that more aren't designed this way. You could glue a gem blade on top of a stick and shave with it-haha!

Just gotta be careful with the corners! I was shocked these don't have corner protectors in the bar - but after talking to him - it was designed that way! He actually engineered it to protect the skin - while still remaining very simple and elegant. I love the thin Design and actually - I am darn happy with the angular look haha I agree I wish more modern companies would offer Gem offerings - but I'm thrilled Shield got this right out of the gate 👍 Thanks for the comment my buddy and for the support! 🎃🎃

We really do need trained badgers!!! I absolutely LOVE Ciderhouse Five from PAA, but I am vehemently opposed to the idea of seasonal scents. I bought 3 pucks of it so I can enjoy it all year. My nose doesn't just like apples in the fall. I have 3 of their banana soaps as well to survive the other 3 non-banana seasons. This razor looks awesome. You really have me wanting a Gem style razor now!

I don't think Wolfy still makes the Gem but I could be mistaken. I don't go to their page as it is too much temptation 🤣🤣 The Wolf Gem is beautiful though! Definitely one I would love to try some day! The Sabre level 2 is fantastic!!! I do like this head a little more, the handle lots more, and I think the weight is nicer on my head, but that's just me. 👍 Thank you so much for watching my brother!

How do you say this thing shaves anywhere close to a BBS? Granted it’s smooth, I have to really work at it to feel any blade, I can apply as much pressure as I can and it won’t cut me. It shaved but does not come even close to bbs. My Rx injector is 100 times closer. I have the artists club coming and I pray it’s better

How are the threads? The tolerances? At that price cab you see a difference in the quality compared to the Blackland ?

Thanks for the question, The Sabre is an entirely different material (SS vs Titanium) so there is an inheriant difference between the two - but I think the tolerances on the Shield are solid with maybe a step down or two in finish quality. Same goes for threads. Mine assembles tight and straight for sure. I have to say, Blackland puts out a beautiful product that I think deserves the recognition it gets, especially in SS - but each shaver we'll have to justify if it's worth paying three or four times more money for. Since the Saber is not offered in titanium I can say that this for me is an excellent alternative 👍

@@rutkowsky1000 probably one of the best gem razors I've ever used honestly on my dome. Very efficient, very smooth, and VERY EASY to find the shave angle. It's nice and light which I prefer, and absolutely beautiful as a display piece. I think the design is really cool how it doesn't need corner protectors - and the price for GR5A TITANIUM (WITH STAND) is unbeatable. 👍🤘

No, it is very different. The head on this doesn't have blade tabs, it's a different angle and I find it to be equal if not slightly more efficient than the Sabre ++. Skin feel is pretty different, I have heard some like one over the other - I find both to be very good shavers, but I really appreciate the Titanium weight paired with a sharp Gem blade.
