In this video I show how to replace the purge valve for the fuel vapor tank or carbon canister on our 2006 Porsche Cayenne S. It wasn't terribly difficult to replace, just takes some patience. We replaced the purge valve with a new hardline attached. The check engine light and P0441 code has not returned since this replacement, cars running great. Great video man! When I changed my purge valve on my 955, the worst part of the job was definitely removing the pipe from the bulkhead end of it. I think Porsche use an adhesive on it.

Thank you, Yeea man, I was fighting that thing for a while before thinking to try to spray the silicone spray in there which got it loose right away pretty much haha.

Why would you not turn the hose clamps around so if you ever had to touch them again, they were accessible

Trying to replace the engine for my titanium S, and have been having problems. Everytime I put the engine on, it wouldn’t turn, but when the engine is not Atta, it turns normally. Pls, advise

Wow. The last 4 or 5 videos you've put up were exactly the same problems i was having, literally id be searching youtube for vids and a day or two later youd upload exactly what i was searching for!! What the heck man lol. The symptoms im getting with this is the same as mentioned hard starting after filling up, occasional stall (while parked) and occasionally itll feel like im pressing the accelerator while im stopped at a light consequently raising the rpm as well as rough acceleration (jerking) and increased fuel consumption. Do the other symptoms i mentioned sound like it could the same problem in your opinion? Ive recently replaced the valve cover gasket at a mechanic shop and i realized this issue started soon after it was replaced. Thinking it could be a loose connection or something. Its throwing a p0455, secondary air injection system (bank 1 and 2), system too lean (1 and 2) and Ambient air temperature sensor circuit intermittent codes. I was getting p0441 but not anymore :s On behalf of all your subscribers id like to thank you for all the vids that you upload, we appreciate what you do, you always explain things thoroughly and we can easily follow your step by step process. The only symptom I had when my purge valve failed was hard starting after refuelling.

Thanks a lot for the comment. I’m glad my videos have been helpful for you. I really appreciate all the kind words as well. As far as the P0441 code we also had the check engine light come and go with that code, so it doesn’t surprise me it cleared itself on yours, you might see it come back. At 5:47 in the video I talk about these plastic pipes for the positive crankcase ventilation system and how we replaced one because it was cracked, before I replaced it we also had weird idle issues sometimes and a check engine light with lean mixture codes, replacing that plastic pipe fixed the issue. One thing about replacing the valve covers is you have to remove both of those plastic pipes, so if they are aged and brittle it’s pretty difficult not to crack them when removing. To be fair it was hard to notice the cracks on our pipe, I had to move it to make the cracks visible, so it’s possible it happened with the valve cover replacements and they didn’t notice. I think if you replaced the purge valve and both of those plastic pipes running on top of the engine that it should fix the issues you’re having. I think the ambient temp code could just be a bad sensor that reads the outside air temp. Thanks again for the comment and I hope you can get your Cayenne sorted soon.

So why did you put the spring clamp tabs back where they were instead of bringing them to the front where you canput pliers on them without taking the i take off.

Just figured I’d put it back the same way it was and since it was kind of worn into the rubber hose that way. I think they probably put it that way so it’s tucked out of the way so when you’re reaching in the front to work on other things you’re not catching things on it. Should be good for another 150,000 miles anyways haha. I think it should be no problem if you want to turn it around the other way though.

I believe it is the same part number. If you go to pelicanparts.com you can put in your year and model and then in the search bar on their site type in purge valve and it should come up. They have the OEM and the URO parts aftermarket ones. I just got the URO parts one because it’s half the price haha. I’ve had no issues since this install though.
