Enjoy this follow up to our video “KX 250 Beastly Build! How to Transform a Motocross bike to a Woods Dirtbike” from more than three years ago on this channel where we showed how we converted and restored or 2002 Kawasaki KX 250 to an all out woods bike with some fun power. I. In this video we roll the classic Kawasaki Two Stroke 250 out of the storage shed for the first time in three years to see if it runs well enough to go on an epic GNCC style, single track / motocross adventure with all of our old riding buddies on modern KTM 250s. Man I miss my 02 Rm125. I remember ripping through your woods loop with uncle Ray! I still rip the supermoto but I sure miss the woods.

One thing you didn't show in prepping the bike after storage was putting it in gear bike not running and moving the bike to make sure the clutch will release properly before you start the bike and jam it in gear and crunch. When I was playing with classic (60's and 70's) Honda's after two to three years of non use, the clutch plates can rust together and need to be sanded a little and reassembled. Still a great prep video, looks like great fun!!!!

If you want your 02 to work even better off road, get 03 triple clamps, raise the forks 1.5cm, get the tallest rear tire you can find, and the thing will actually turn. If you want more low end, a V-Force reed makes it pretty explosive off the bottom, but takes top end away. Also, if you hunt around, you can find a Rekluse clutch that makes that tall first gear no problem in tight/slow stuff. I went back to the stock reeds for broader powerband and back to the 19" rear wheel with a 120/100 tire to raise the back end and steepen the head angle. This combo works really well offroad and the thing actually turns!
