Quick run down on how to build ppump 24v
Pump gear
Gear case
Crank seal
Housing gasket
Vacuum pump seal kit
intake spacer plate.
Intake gasket set
Conversion fuel injection lines w/brackets**
Pump mounting brackets
Oil feed line with restrictor fitting needed to add oil feed line to 24V
24V Apps throttle linkage kit or 12v throttle linkage
P7100 pump. Be sure to get a Dodge brand Bosch pump from a Cummins truck for Fitment.
lift pump that doesn't run off the cam ( unless your doing a cam )
return fuel lines
fuel feed line
hopfully this gives you guys a start of the the list, i will be doing a complete build shortly so this is the first of the video's

Hey Rob! I’ve asked you a few questions over the years and your videos have helped me with my 12v build. I have a question and need some help making my decision. I’ve just rebuilt a 12v to stock specs. I’ve got a local guy in Australia who has a 5.9 24v with a p pump conversion and has studs, gov springs, bigger injectors and a bigger turbo.. he is keen to swap me. Is this a good deal or a bad deal? Thanks!

Done a few of these P-pump 24-valve setups as well as install 12-valve engines in 01-02 trucks. There's a few other things you need if you want the truck to have stock functionality, including tach, cruise, etc. I made a drill guide that will allow proper installation and alignment of the 01-02 24-valve cam sensor in the 12-valve gear case. Naturally, you will need to have the 24-valve cam gear with the tone wheel installed as well. And if its a 12-valve engine, you will need to swap out the 10mm-head gear case mounting bolts to the 24-valve torx style in order to clear the cam gear tone wheel bolts. I also made a cam sensor boss that gets mounted to the back of the 12-valve gear case, which locates the cam sensor at the proper angle and elevation. Once you do all of this, you will retain the correct tach input for the 01-02 trucks. Of course, you will need to retain the use of the 24-valve ECM, which can easily get mounted on the frame rail near the starter. The conversions I have done have been 100% functional, with all sensors and inputs working. I even made a 12-valve TPS work with the 24-valve PCM with only slight modification. All of them were automatics, and did use the factory ECM and PCM for control. I also made a custom wiring harness when I did a 2002 12-valve w/47RE auto. You opened the hood and could not tell it didn't come from the factory that way. That's my kind of conversion! Have not done a conversion on a 98-99 truck, they may actually be easier since they have a crankshaft position sensor while the cam sensor has rudimentary input. Sometimes I miss doing conversions, but working on all stock trucks is far more profitable!

What do you think is a fir price for someone to ppump an 01 24 if I bring all the parts to do the conversion?

@@drewbot69 do you bring your steak to the restaurant and have them cook it for you? #1 rule... Don't ever bring your own parts to a shop. Buy them yourself, install them yourself, or buy from the people who are doing the work. With that being said, a high-quality P-pump conversion isn't cheap, especially if you want to to all function like stock. Parts and labor you could be anywhere from $10-20k or more, depending on what HP level and functionality you want.

What fuel injectors can you use when adding P7100 on a 5.9 with CP3 engine? The CP3 engine has a different piston combustion chamber?

Thank you for this video, you really know what you are talking about. I'm attempting to pull info off the web for my dad who plans to do this same conversion, except his truck is a 1995. Seems it would be pretty much the same thing since the blocks are casted from the same mold from '89 to '98 (I think). Or perhaps you have a video about that motor as well? Any advice or direction to a link would be greatly appreciated!

Is there a way to use a factory 12 valve lift pump on a 24 valve? I couldn't find a 24v cam with a lobe for the block mounted lift pump. Only other mechanical option is belt driven fuel pump but it's not convenient.

The vp44 block is just a 12v block so a 12v cam works. But the vp44 is a better cam

You've had lots of issues with the VP44 and ECM? I know first hand someone with 350,000 miles on factory VP44. he's owned the truck since new. But he said he's gone through 3 stock auto trans and one built LOL

Just on one truck .....the original took a shit and then a used one I put on...went through a VP44 on 3 separate trucks...until I put a good lift pump on obviously...but ..I do like the VP44 engine's....but ...

on my 6.7 p pump swap using the 6.7 head. do I use the 6.7 fuel tubes with the vp44 injectors and use the conversion lines for the p7100 to common rail or do I use the vp44 to common rail tubes and standard vp 44 to 7100 fuel lines? which ones fit the injectors? what combo?

If you using vp44 style line you have to use the vp44 tubes

Where do you put the boost reference line, the one off the back of the AFC, in the 24v head?

Any air supply will work. Must guys pull a lin off the intake horn or side of the head

What do you recommend doing for the lift pump? I’ve heard ppump require about 30 psi where as vp44 require 14 psi. I want to go with a fass set up for my ‘02 and just wanted some input. Can you buy a fass for the 94-98 dodges without having to do intensive modifications to retro fit it to my ‘02?

If you were to put a ppump fass on the vp44 you would need to regulate the pressure down witch can be done a couple ways

That’s the pressure I set them at it, anyplace that’s building injectors can set them at your desired pressure

I’ve talked to a couple people who have done ve pump 24v swaps. Awesome thing is you can use factory vp44 injector lines with a 12-14mm thread adapter (like a helicoil)

@@CUTTERUPROB Eric Gilbert (runs THE HUNGRY DIESEL) made something like 645hp with a ve pumped 24v. Not too bad for an old ve garbage pump!!!!

@@douganderson7002 plus a ve will get better mpg with its dynamic timing advance. P pump has fixed timing. That being said my truck is a p pump swapped first gen because 1 I like to go fast and 2 I had issues with two ve pumps. P pump swapped it for less than what a rebuilt ve cost.

What about the cam position sensor? Or can you use the crank position sensor off the 12v? I am swapping the ppumped 24v into a 2008 f-250. What would you recommend?

Long shot. I am getting ready to do this swap. Ordering everything before I get started. Found the adapter to move the oil feed line to the driver side but cannot find any information on how to plug the original oil feed inlet by the block after relocating it. Does anyone know the size or where I can order a plug if they make one?
