Just a bunch of odds and ends, so nothing too exciting - and I forgot the camera one night. Painting picks back up soon!

Thanks, Jeff. Trying to do parallel path stuff while I finish up painting. Just don't want to get too far ahead of myself.

You'll get there soon, Tom. I've just got to remember how it all goes back together!

I would insulate as much of the floor as I could. When I left Orlando in summer of 1989, my father came down and rode back to Pennsylvania with me in my 1971 Spitfire. First time we stopped for gas, he went in and bought a roll of aluminium foil and lined his entire side in several layers.

lol, that's great. Smart man, your Dad! I know the Spitfires are notorious for the heat in the passenger compartment. I'm going to bring the carpet over there very soon and see what needs to be done. Thinking about putting it on the underside of the bonnet, too, but not too sure about that yet.

Hi, Chris. That transmission tunnel looks it is way to high. I don’t think It is for a Spitfire. Maybe for a Herald? That radio bezel is usually a tight fit but should work. I am told that it is a structural item to give strenght to the car.

Yes, the radio support is definitely structural. I did order the tunnel from TRF and it was for the Spitfire. I'm going to try again with the other support and the carpet and see what happens. Wish me luck!

Progress! Did you make the engine panels yourself?

I did not. As a matter of fact, I have a video coming tomorrow morning about them.

Hi Chris, in one of your videos you described that the seat mounts didnt line up with the bolts whole of the new floor. What was the solution you found? I have the same problem and have already painted everything so I am trying to figure out something that involves the least amount of stripping the paint back down. Thanks a lot! Great videos

Thanks for watching! I used the seat slider and bolted it to the holes that were correct, then marked and drill holes for the ones that were not. I used regular bolts, but with nyloc nuts and big fender washers to distribute the force a bit so the metal wouldn't rip out (if I remember, the existing welded on nuts have a reinforcement plate). Seems to have worked so far.

@@roundtailrestoration thank you so much for the feedback. I will try your solution! Keep up with the awesome videos. Thanks!
