Security guards don’t really have any authority at all besides telling you to leave and then calling the cops.

I used to be a security guard. From what I understand, or understood at the time, what a security guard has a right to do depends on a few things. 1. What the company they work for (as many are contractors not directly employed by the site) has the licenses to allow them to do. 2. What they have the licenses for. 3. What the site they work for allows. (A hospital might allow security to cuff a patient, while a bank might not) 3. And most important, what the law allows. Now, security guards are civilians employed to do jobs cops don't have time to do. So they technically have the legal rights of a civilian (cannot arrest on suspicion, but, at least in America, a civilian does have the right to perform a civilian arrest if they actually catch someone committing a crime. Though it's usually safer most of the time to just call the cops.) The security guard in the story, though, likely did not have the right to boot a car. And if he thought he legally had a case, he should have just called the cops anyway.

If he was in California he could have served time for it. Definitely lost his job no matter what state he was in, if he was in the US.

Either Karen has money and the guy in question has at least some access to it, or the guy has kids with the Karen and it will cost him out the ass to get a divorce or leave her. 2. Sex. Despite being a raging hose-beast, Karen might be one hell of a lot of fun in the sack. Almost all guys will put up with tremendous amounts of shit if the sex is amazing. Refer to the Hotness - Craziness scale for more information. 3. Male Karenness. Not all Karens are women. If a dude is just as entitled as the Karen in question, he certainly doesn't notice the shitty behavior displayed by the Karen. Or, if he does notice, he doesn't give a shit because he's an equally tremendous piece of shit. 4. Emotional abuse. If the guy has been with the Karen long enough, he might be conditioned to believe that no one else would have him or that he couldn't survive alone / without Karen. Alternatively, Karen could just employ the same tactics male domestic abusers use, apologizing and promising to change every time their victim seems like they might leave. Those are pretty much the only reasons any guy would stay with a Karen.

I actually have the complete opposite. Despite being somewhat of an introvert, I have people knowing my name with me having the slightest clue who they are. I even have a school assistant nodding me whenever I would walk into him in the city centre, despite me NEVER having been in any trouble in school (aka no reason for him to know me). Some shop/store employees know I'm a regular customer and will say hi and strike up a conversation, know I'm an adult (for the rare occasions I buy booze) and don't even bother to check my bags most of the time because they also know I always carry receipts when visiting multiple stores. It does get a little annoying when people seem to confuse me with someone else and are adement about me being called differently (my history/social studies teacher refused to call me anything but Fabienne, even though my name looks nothing like it and some manager from a home decor chain was certain we kissed during a night out, despite me never having been drunk up until then and definitely remember anyone I'd kissed).

@@powerpuff_avenger I had a similar problem while in school, I would just meander through the halls getting between classes and all these people I had never talked to would recognize me and adress me by name. It also had an effect when an entirely different school heard about the time I rammed open the classroom door after someone stole our door handle.

When I was in retail, a co-worker mentioned that Demi Moore was in the store. I snuck a peek, and right as I was thinking, "that kind of looks like her, but there's no way," she said something. There is no mistaking that voice. (Note: this was in the '90s and she was an A-lister at the time.)

TBH it also says a lot about today's humanity. While i clearly don't understand why she had to be a b-word about it, i can see where she's coming from. Whenever i interact with strangers i do not expect them to be nice, that's just how i feel about people by now. If i get treated with kindness i am surprised, i do try to treat the few people i interact with (shyness coupled with a 'not my problem' mindset) with kindness. But am sure as hell not expecting people to be nice.

The only one I’m fairly confident was my first Starter was Turtwig (could have been one of the ones from Hoennen or Kanto but I can’t remember since I restarted a lot so that’s why the above reply)

For me, it was I believe either Fennekin from Pokemon X or Piplup from Platinum. I never had the opportunity to really play many pokemon games til recently but I can't remember for the life of me which I played first. And yes, I did pick the starters between which I thought looked the most adorable

Are you referring to the last story? Because if so, it would have only made things more complicated if he tried to help the lady when he didn't understand TVs. Imagine if he tried to help her anyway to 'be nice', but kept giving her bad info. Then an actual store employee comes over and has to deal with an extremely agitated Karen all because a non-employee got her riled up. By attempting to be nice to this person by giving her false information, you've made that employee's day that much worse because now they have to put up with this obnoxious person. He knew about the games and saw the employee and mother were confused. He had the information, so he helped. But he doesn't have the info about the TVs, so he can't help. It doesn't help anyone when you're trying to be the good guy in a situation you know nothing about.

I'd do my best to hook her up with the worst performing television for the highest cost. It's pretty simple to feign knowledge about something when the person you're fucking with has no clue. I actually did pick Charmander. Much later in life I made a good friend who picked Squirtle and we have a very healthy rivialry going on.

I was the weird kid who got both versions and then sort of alternated between them, so I guess Torchic for Ruby and Mudkip for Sapphire are both my real first starters, though I lost Sapphire after a while, so I guess between the two, Torchic wins (plus Blaziken is tied for my favorite pokemon period so that helps). As for gen 4, I chose Piplup and she was the first pokemon I ever got to level 100.

Thats so cool, my first starter was a treeko named camo in oras. I spent 30 minutes deciding which one i wanted. All based on the first evos. I got that game as a bday present from my godfather he knew i liked pokemon and he liked the color blue so he got me alpha sapphire. He had no idea what it was and it was really amazing that he just got it because i like pokemon. This gift let me convince my parents to get a 3ds and let me enjoy the games
