I near passed out once because of my asthma because they had a time requirement to pass running the mile in gym class and the teacher wouldn’t give reasonable accommodation for the asthma. Another time I got in trouble because of the asthma was again the mile run, was so desperate to breathe better I managed to heavily overdose my rescue inhaler. Had to sit quietly in the nurse’s room afterwards with some juice and a packet of cookies to wait for the medicine to get out.

I have CF and Asthma, so if that happened to me, my mother would do the same. You're a great parent! Keep being caring towards your child and they'll grow up to be an amazing person!

I can absolutely see that working. I tried many times to quit smoking, but one of the things that I figured out when I actually quit was to just open my mouth a wee bit and slowly take a deep breath as when drawing on a cigarette. Turns out, part of the relaxation from cigarettes *is* from the deep breathing, the same thing you get from breathing exercises in mindfulness / meditation practices.

You can also use a small square piece of paper under ur hand that touches the page which is a super obviously cheap alternative until you can get a more comfortable option such as the artist glove :}

It took 10 years before a physio, confused why my treatment for sciatica and other back pain wasn't working. She looked at the X-rays the bloody consultant had used to send me to her and flipped out. I was getting treatment that could have paralysed me! As to why it wasn't diagnosed before, when I developed sciatica at 15, 2 years after the accident that most likely caused the breaks, I was basically told I'd grow out of it. I came from a mining/steelworking area, and docs were like that then lol (tbh, I am not mad with them, they dealt with a lot of hard, _hard_ men! The fact I was a teenage girl didn't matter.) It was the end the 70s/early 80s. Took till about 1990 for that physio to at least make consultants take me seriously! Unfortunately things have gone downhill from there, but I trust physios _way_ more than "specialists" 😂.

At least you got help, I actually herniated a disc in my back and, not knowing this, exacerbated it for years til I couldn't lay on my back and use my CPAP because my meds caused so much weight gain, and the treatment for sciatica didn't help. Back doctor ordered X-Rays and told me "herniation and semi deterioration at this disc."

In middle school we had 3-5 minutes (Depending on the schedule) to get from class at one end of the school, to class at the other end. I never had a late slip, but lots of my friends did.

First high school I went to had 7 minute passing because the school was less a school and more a damned campus. I just gave up on getting a locker second year because I couldn’t justify exchanging items if my classes were too far apart. And even with three lunch periods and off-campus access, lines would still drag a ton. And, the roster of students was so fuck-off large that you were more likely to have no friends in a class than one. Fucking hated that place.

It is not really done to save space. It is a typography thing and most often ligatures are applied to input because of overly "smart" programs. There might be automatic ligature replacement happening when rendering fonts and that is entirely different topic. I would hazard a guess they used MS Excel to input data into spreadshit before importing into database. Depending on regional settings that input mingling might be on or off. I had to deal with quite a few issues caused by that when dealing with part numbers imported from spreadsheets. As for the test application, most likely it defaults to utf8 where fl ligature has 3 byte codepoint EF AC 82 while letters f and l have single byte codepoints 66 and 6C respectively. Those won't match with a simple string comparison function, exactly what we see here.

My mum absolutely adores chess and she plays with a set I had custom printed as copies of the Isle of Lewis historical set, on a leather board she painted herself. That's her playing set and display set. Before she got that set, it was the same old crappy wood set you see everywhere. That "modern" set in the video is ugly as hell.

Funny thing is the behavioral school teachers actually are allowed to physically restrain you but they never refused to let me use the bathroom. That was only a problem with public school teachers who, again, can't actually do anything to stop you from just leaving the classroom. Public school teachers KNOW they don't actually have any power, that's why they try to make you think they do so they can keep control. They can't MAKE you do anything. Doesn't matter how big their authority boner is, they still don't have any power unless you give it to them.

1: Not a lot of children-teens know that they aren't allowed to stop you. 2: Legally can't and won't are two different things. 3: The school systems bias to believe teachers over students means that even if the teacher is the aggressor in a conflict, students are not likely to come out clean. 4: Students are afraid of their parents reaction when the teacher tells them.

Just using a flashlight is also really helpful for finding tiny dropped stuff! Maybe not something as small as a screw, but it's absolutely saved my behind NUMEROUS times.

Screws used in faucets happen to be the stubby sort as well, so are pains to find, which is why a magnet is best to use to find them. However, if you are wondering where the screw is, it landed POINT down. Between the weed and pink container, if you divide that in equal 10 parts, its near the end of section 4 into 5. So make it easier, if you say that's 10 inches apart, you would be looking around the 4.5/5 inch mark in a straight line between the two points. You can spot the cross of the phillips head. Its right at the bottom of a large white rock, large in comparison to the grey rocks around.

It will be SUPER LONG so i double apologize rn because itll also be awfully wordy due to english not being my first language, so i havent achieved the ability to turn 5 words into 1 just yet so it doesnt look like a whole aśs novel which could easily be written in just 1 paragraph if i could, like yk.. use shortened alternatives) __________ Alright so, sure, the fact they own the house sure is true, but the only next thing a parent can comfortably do thats close to controlling whats happening inside the walls when having other family members living in there, is simply empower rules, which ofc those same rules should be moral and mostly only ones that help with the house itself and organising it such as certain chores + family routines, just so it doesnt end up looking like a chaos dumbster And so speaking of the rules, while those are ok, one thing some parents similar to your father tend to do thats NOT ok and something they forget a sht ton is that having a kid also means ACKNOWLEDGING the fact, that for your kid to grow up properly with a proper youth and proper development = physical and mental care/comfortability + privacy is incredibly needed so the kid grows with no insecurities caused by their parents' treatment. I know most kids cant get both, but in your situation it was pretty awful from the sound of it especially if thats even rlly what your father had the audacity to SAY to you, its very toxic and it just shows you were limited and robbed of your childhood freedom and relationship with your father because of the the clear violation he did of both your privacy and forbidding you to comfortably decide on your own what happens to the stuff you very much put in effort to earn, im sorry it happened to you The "anything that gets in my house is my property, even if i wasnt the one who earned it" is fcking toxic though - If the kid earns something with its own effort and especially if its something you barely even participated in helping your child with achieving so, you have NO rights to take it away and confiscate it just because you "feel like it" and because you "own the house" and you "make the rules". If its something like a phone the kid bought with their own saved up money, and you notice a valid reason to take it away, such as it affecting school and the kid's social communication with the outside world- sure. You can take it and put it in the drawer until the kid gets back on track but at the same time also monitoring the kids further use of it when it gets it back so nothing similar happens again. But heres what parents cant and mustnt do: Sell it. Break it. Give it to someone for it to not be accessable and usable by the kid anymore /permanently/. And honestly, while i was still a kid, this has happened to me not only first starting as a threat since i was 9(not w a phone ofc but other stuff i cared a lot about, like drawings id make), but actually was done multiple times very few years later with actually expensive stuff I bought with my own money from birthdays and part time job savings which i made myself attend since the age of 15, my stuff being destroyed, shattered and sold only because id say one disagreeing opinion or because i was late for school by 5 minutes. But moving on, with the phone thing, if it was bought by the kids money and its something they put effort into getting. It just HAPPENS for teenagers to obviously overuse it sometime which CAN be FIXED. The fact the teen knows they might get it back would also add extra motivation to helping themselves improve too while they cant access it. But some parents dont care. They cant think open mindedly to understand the both pros and cons of such situations and the solutions to them. They dont know that a child because of such thing might legitimately isolate itself and might BELIEVE, that putting further effort into things or even trying to achieve further goals, is just a waste of time just because of the fear they are most likely to develop of their stuff being taken away unrightfully. That also making the kid feel as if it isnt trying HARD enough to earn something the parents could ACTUALLY see as appropriate and acceptable for the kid to OWN without slapping the whole "if its in my house i can do whatever i want with it" sticky note onto the poor soul's face ^^^ That with a better explanation:(no need to read this specific paragraph if you understood the above), simply, a kid might distance itself and refuse to let themselves commit into any effort of achieving their hobby goals/fun goals(like either earning their first 10 bucks as an achievement, having a shelf/box of collectibles like stickers or soda cans), that being said, if it isnt taken care of in the early stages, it COULD obviously lead onto worse things such as depression(isolating themselves and feeling not good enough for everything they do etc etc) all because of the entire sick mindset some parents are in by empowering the whole idea of "i keep you under my roof so you do and listen to everything i tell you to do" Along with deciding the amount of privacy the kid will get even though its something the CHILD THEMSELVES should decide, ESPECIALLY if its THEIR safe space, that space being the room they sleep in and do most home hobbies in, and with what you said; barging in and changing up the kid's room to their parent's liking. Sure i understand if the kid is like 3, but not if its a teenager and your parent suddenly comes in changing placements of stuff and even throwing out things you put in your own room just because they dont like it, or even LOOKING and GOING through your stuff. Just the whole idea of "barging in" and going through stuff without asking is literally violating the kid's privacy, i feel sick knowing some parents even remove their kid's doors so the child has no way of closing themselves inside the room to do anything comfortably I really hope the kids of current and upcoming generations have a proper childhood without all those toxic family relationships and interactions. Those sure do happen constantly but kids are really just poor souls who just happen to do a few mistakes everynow and then who unfortunately dont know any better, being scolded wouldnt teach them anything but properly teaching them with words to help them grow up with knowledge is what should be done.
