I am die hard fan of Roger Federer but seeing Rafael Nadal sad at the podium just kills me ................the man is made of gold he took the loss like a champion. Sir Rafael Nadal I salute you....
As I am a Rafa fan, always... want him to win. However to lose to Roger in this final is heartbreaking for him, but Roger deserves the win.... Will we see another epic final between these two in a slam..??? I hope so
that is not true. He not show grece in his actitud and words. He is very happy when win. When lose, his face show hardness and anger, Federer seems one older brother stimulating him. But al the people lie, and said he is a good loser, that is not true
could be. But not forge it very bad actitudes of Nadal. When hi pushed with his shoulder to Rosol, in the half time in Wimbledon 2012, by example. Because Rosol was winning. ( won, later). And in the ceremony of the last sunday, with RG champion, his words was= i won to RG several times, "TODAY" his beat me. He cant keep from speak about his favorable scorer against RF. But in this moment, that words (Today his beat me)are missplaced. Your words about RF "much smaller man" are only of you, The world thind different. And ius true. RF is 5 years more old. Old the time he played against Nadal, Dyokovic, Murray with 5 years more, And always made it very very very good. Old this have time for win 18 GS: But carefull with a lot of new players. Thiem, Grygory, etc, Carefull¡¡ And we will can see to Nadal, Nole, Murray playing agaisnt player 5 years more young. And we will can see his results.
all the sportman hates losing. But here seem RN hate losing more the rest. Sure, I am tired of heard he is a strong player, a fighter player, a very hard player., a dangerous player....and a gentleman too. Not, ask to Rosol in windonw 2012 is he is a gentelman.
Whenever I read the comments on men's tennis videos, I am reminded of how many people around the world love and respect this sport as much as I do. That being said, its nice to see the love and appreciation that we show for our heroes such as Roger and Rafa. Keep up the good work guys!
I hated watching this as a Federer fan. I'm Swiss, but come on, Rafa was like family. We saw them both in 2004 at Roland Garros when they were kids. We hoped they would win something. How on earth did they both beat Sampras, Agassi, Borg and Connor? It was an insane adventure, and I think that Rafa fans were never enemies. So many good moments lived together, and they ended up being real friends.
Such a gracious and humble speech in defeat. I'm a diehard federer fan; in my earlier years, I used to dislike Rafa because he was the main roadblock to Roger's continued success into stratospheric heights. However now as I grow older, I can look past that and appreciate his fighting will, humility and constant good nature both in victory and defeat. What are we going to do when roger and rafa retires, I have no idea
Being die hard rafa fan, same thing now I feel about roger...this two r world to me..... Though I would like to see rafa beating roger in final... And I have an idea.. It's easy for me.... I will stop watching tennis....After ROGER and RAFA.
somehow stats are just like curse if you see from eurosport, after roger win the 3rd set. they showing rafa stats that saying rafa is never win a grandslam match after down 2-1.. while roger win 6 of 10 match after lead 2-1.
This could be Rafa's best speech after a slam final (win or loss). He gave everything on court and then released his sadness in such a humble, positive and funny way that only a great human being can do. Have been a lifelong Fed fan but Rafa is a great inspiration!
I am a Federer fan but Nadal is the most humble, most nicest guy. I respect Nadal a lot and i really hope he wins French open this year, it will be his tenth title at one grand slam. Thats just amazing. Rafa and Roger r just simply legends of our sport.
@@rahulfederer20 He equalled him indeed but As Roger said, there's no other person he'd be happier to share that record with, than Rafa and I think the same goes to Roger's fans like me. I wasn't upset when it happened cuz u know, it's Rafa ❤️.
It took me six months after the 2017 final before I could watch the trophy presentation and the post-match conferences because it hurt too much -- and even then it still hurt. But now, five years later, after he FINALLY won his second Australian Open, I think a lot of us Rafa fans can also finally make peace with the heartbreak of this and the 2012 and 2014 finals. Thank you Rafa.
I've been watching tennis for years and never before have I heard such humble speeches by both player. Hats off to them 🙏🏻 so much respect they have for each other, very different from the usual speech
because rival is different with enemy federer and rafa is the greatest rivalry of tennis they respect each other unlike djokovic and murray they meet a lot on the court but i dont think they like each other
Much better the trophy hahaha. And now it's yours. Well done Rafa. For once again you've shown us what a great fighter you are and what you are still capable of doing!
I'm here for the future to let you know that despite all the tragic defeats Rafa has faced in the Australian Open final, when everything seemed like history would just repeat itself again in 2022... He came back from 2 sets down and 3 break points against one of the best hardcourt players in the world in Medvedev to win his 2nd Australian Open and his 21st Grand Slam title in an epic classic ❤💛❤
Harry Smart This is why I don't like so much Novak Djokovic, it does not seem to be sincere and respectful for those two. Roger and Rafa are walking legends with such a huge class to one another.
I know right, there are so many haters, I used to have small hatred towards Nadal for defeating Federer after Wimbledon 2008, but over the years I came to appreciate Nadal more. Both players are extremely gifted, extremely humble and extremely pleasant to watch. It still stings a bit but that is what makes tennis beautiful having rivals. I remember Borg and Mcenroe being arch rivals too and boy did it make tennis beautiful. There is nothing better than two of the greatest player ever playing the game playing against each other.,
Ridiculously close back and forth 5 setter championship with unbelievable shot making. I would have never guessed in a million years that we would see a match like this again between these 2 players. So much vintage here.
he is important, for his opps are bigs. For himself. hi....is .....What is? The all time best on clay? In the slow play of clay?. The old and slow play? Of course. In few years more the play in clay will disspear5..
No. Tennis need all. Serve, baseline, etc, the most differents shots,. And serve, too. If you lost because you dont have a good serve, sorry man, go to lear to serve, before play. Tennis is all. Speed too, no the slow play of the clay.
I am the biggest Federer fan but this is very painful to watch. I really, really wish Rafa all the best for the future. I simply don't know what to look forward to in tennis after these two legends retire.
Amrit Swain Don't despair my friend. One thing that I have realized from watching men's tennis through the decades is that there is never a shortage of world class talent. Might we ever see such gifted players as Roger and Rafa again? Perhaps not, but I feel hopeful about the future of men's tennis. I expect great things from that kid Dimitrov in the coming years. They do afterall call him "Baby Fed" haha.
Amazing players, yes ATP does have many new talented players. But they mostly waste their time with unnecessary rantings and flaunting their girlfriends. Classic examples are Kyrgios, Tomic and to some extent Dimitrov. I have been waiting for the so called Baby Fed to win big slam matches since 5 years or so. Hes already 25 (26ish) now. Though i must say great players might be just around the corner, waiting for that one big match, we never know. Thiem and Dimitrov are still my best bet.
Nick Kygios and Bernard Tomic should watch these two. not for the tennis and skill level..they are on a level beyond those two, but for lessons on humility, respect and grace ...
Carl Vincent I couldn't agree more. I can perhaps understand if Kyrgios and Tomic are from a country that hasn't produced any tennis greats but they are from Australia for crying out loud!! Some of the most humble and respectful players that ever played the game originate from that country (Laver, Newcombe, Rafter, Philipoussis) so its not like they don't have great role models to look up to. Yeah dude, it will indeed be a sad day for men's tennis the day that Roger and Rafa retire because I fear that players like Kyrgios and Tomic will inherit the game.
he might have Lost, but he still made a great speech to his credit ♥♥♥, so humble and so adorable he will surely strike again. It's a true blessing to watch these 2 legends reunited again in an epic final ♥
The things that I respect most about Rafa are his never say die attitude and his sheer will. Whether he's 2 sets down or facing 3 match points, he keeps on fighting with every shot, every point. When things don't go his way, there's no dummy spit, no smashing of the racquet. He just get on with it. We are very fortunate to have witnessed these 2 champions giving us such epic matches over the years. They have left their own indelible marks on the game of tennis.
This comment aged really really well! Today Rafa won the 21 grand coming back over two sets down and three break points. He makes us Spaniards feel tremendously proud and confident of what we can achieve with hard work and noble values
Iam here after 2022 AO final iam so overwhelmed that Rafa broke record for grand slam titles truly exceptional and no doubt Djokovic and Federer have contributed a lot to his achievements and same has he done for them the elite trio
I'm looking back at this speech and pondering the justice that ensued for him, 13 years on to lift that trophy again. What a wonderful speech. He had a few ups and downs in Australia down the years after his victory in 2009 but he never gave up. He seems so genuine and gracious in his praise of Rafa. Two legends of the game 💕
I have never seen any legend of any game that was as unfortunate as Rafa at AO. Like seriously, with a little bit of luck he could have had 5 AOs no joke. Injured against Wawa before the match starts, up against both Djokovic and Fed in the 5th etc.
Congrats to all the Fed fans and Federer. It must feel so great after waiting for five years with no slam. This is definitely a bittersweet tournament for a die-hard Rafa fan like me. It was so close yet so far. Rafa I am going to be rooting for you at the French Open - I know you still have more great tennis in you. God bless. Vamos!
Fed and Rafa fans are also like them. Respectful towards each other. As a fed fan I will obviously feel sad the day rafa retires as well. But fans of Novak are so toxic. It's just obnoxious to deal with them.
I may be one of the biggest fans of Roger over the years. But Heart is always beating fast when Rafa is doing what he does always as the second best of all time in Tennis history. Very proud of being a big Tennis fan of this Generation and so lucky to see these two legendary and humble players on and off the court....
I am a big Rafa fan and I was in tears after the match but no denying that Federer deserved to win and the kind the of respect they for each other is really inspiring. Both gave an amazing speech after the match.
May I have a show of replies if who are watching this after Rafa won his 2nd AO trophy and a historic 21st GS title? What a magnificent moment for the Spaniard! 💯🔥🙌🏻🎾
02:03 "Roger deserved it a little bit more than me" Wow, what a humble guy bc it's really difficult to say these kinds of words when you have lost such a huge event as a grand slam final
I think Roger is the perfect example of spirit and enthusiasm,he is truly a maverick sportsman and a Raymond Gentleman. hats off to Roger Frederer you are really a Fed express.
I am team Rafa but those two guys did so much for the sport seeing this in 2020 reminds me every time how fantastic these two are and how sad i will be when they retire. I wish Roger all the best with his injury hope he will comeback like 2017 he is a true champ. Also hope that Rafa can compete on his highest level such a great guy. Thanks for so many years 💪🏻
Losing & winning is part of game but the way both have shared their feeling, happiness and love I love it.Happy to see both the legends standing at same ground.
I was a Rozer fan, then came Rafa and Rozer wasn't the lone king anymore. Rafa you beast deserve all my respect. If it wasn't Rozer, I would have been a sold out fan of yours. Humble Salute to the humble beast. Thanks for gracing the world of tennis.
Rafa's first serve in the 5th set cost him dearly! He blew a 3-1 lead which was so painful to watch! I so badly wanted him to win the AO as he would have been the first man in the open era to win every slam twice! One day I'm sure he will do so! Also you are looking at the 2017 Roland Garros champion! Vamos Rafa!
@Dhruv Erry "got" is correct. The Americans say "gotten" though. It was used in English over 300 years ago but the Americans copied it and when it died out in proper English the Americans didn't get the memo 😂
Rafael Nadal is easily one of the most loved sportman of the world, win or lose he is very humble , ven though its obviously tough to lose , he will stand on the podiom and give a heartfelt congratulations to winner and thanks every one. We jsut all adore hime and love him
Its like batman vs superman. You can pick one over the other as your favorite but at the end both are super heroes who have entertained the tennis fans around the world.
If Rafa can reach the finals of the AO which is his worst GS, I think he can do great things especially in the Clay season and win the FO. Granted, he didn't face Murray or Djoker but his confidence is at an all time high in a long time.
love Nadal. What a wonderful way to honour his mates win ..heart of gold.... Legend all the way.... True sportsmanship. Respect all the way! A winner always.
Rafa is really a great person,,its difficult to tell such a great speech after a tough 5 set loss,,hope Rafa will win RG this year: From a huge Roger fan
Vamos rafa, lets go roger, both great great legends, my support goes out to rafa all the way but roger was simply better this day, congratz on number 18, hope he will get 20 in total
Awesome match! True Tennis! Respect to both the legends! I'm a true Rafa Fan but today I support Roger for his 100% where Rafa gave 99%! No worries! I'm sure my champion Rafa will come back with strong performance in FO and be the winner in FO! What a humble speech by the both great Sport'iev Buddies, Which will remain closer to Every tennis lover for ever! Respect from India! 😍
