Apart from the wobbly camera work 🤣 this is EXACTLY what I want to do with my Behringer RD-9, so THANK YOU for explaining this so well, it worked perfectly!
Hi, an interesting video for me. I'm thinking to buy one RD-8 to record on a DAW (logic pro x) instead of use a virtual drum machin (plugin). I don't know is better, but I don't knwo to take a good pattern with the plugin. Thanks. Best regards
Thanks for this, nice clear and calm explanation. But I came here looking for something else: do you know if it's possible to use the RD-8 to trigger Ableton's Simpler/Sampler/Drumrack? Like, so that the specific drumchannels on the RD-8 correspond with designated "pads" on the drumrack. I'm using USB between my PC and RD-8, no MIDI (yet).
You’re welcome. Thanks for watching 😊 I’m not sure about the Ableton drum rack thing, but theoretically I would assume so. I’ll give it a whirl and see what I come up with.
After some tinkering I made it work (sounds impressive, but I'm a total newbie when it comes to this stuff, so this felt rather glorious). A friend told me to try linking a second MIDI track, which has the drumrack, to the RD-8 channel (#1). So track #2 now has "MIDI from: RD-8" and "Audio to: Master". I still don't know where that hybrid MIDI/Audio channel (#2) came from, and it probably isn't the fastest way, but for now it does what I wanted: it plays the patterns from my RD-8 with custom sounds, and I can modify the pattern on the fly. Might be worth a video indeed, since there could be a way to do this easier on one single track.
Just got mine.... got to have that tactile... thanks for the info... my auto fills and intros seem to be empty.... trying to figure out how to program them... any advice? enjoying the filter fx too... cheers!
Thanks for watching. You have to program autofill patterns in the last 4 slots (red buttons 1-4) as this is a performance feature, when a pattern is playing, hit the autofill button and select your autofill pattern (1-4) hope this this helps.
At that point you’d have to track the RD8 sounds (audio) into your Live session. Either individually or a stereo mix. This setup is for midi controlling the RD8 as an external sound module. Once you have the midi imported it does make it easier to dump the audio. Of course if dumping individual output, how many depends on how many inputs you can record at one time on your audio interface. Or you can do two at a time until all are dumped.
Hey man, love your vids, great work. Any ideas on how we change the tempo on the rd8 from eg. 120 to 120.6 for example? I can't find out how / if it change it anywhere?? Any help really appreciated man. Thanks.👊💥🎛
