Removing factory stereo from 2010 (and up) Ford Transit Connect - WITHOUT KEYS

I used a set of paring knives. The 4-pack was 94¢ at Walmart. They weren't serrated, but they worked like a charm.

I purchased the four keys on eBay-UK. They were only a few pounds. It cost more to ship them to me here in The USA. They were made of some sort of aluminum alloy. They bent all to junk after the first try. I had twisted trash. Now that I have your steak knife solution, I am ready for my next radio upgrade. Thanks for sharing your secret!

I was looking up how to replace the radio in a friend's transit connect. While this seems like it would work, you can actually get the keys off Amazon for just a few bucks if you can wait a few days.

Too funny! I travel a lot and LOVE Walmart's Rotisserie Chicken. Those knives you use can be found at WalMart for $.98 each! ;)

The 2013 does not have those holes in the radio because it is bolted in to the dash. The trim panel that surrounds the radio does pop off from the dashboard, though, and then you are able to access the bolts. I Installed an XM satellite radio in a 2013 TC last Saturday and was about to break out the steak knives until I saw that there were no slots for such a tool.

Ok, I found it. My 2011 transit connect has a power antenna! It is the blue/green wire at the radio connector

I am told the antenna that plugs into the stereo is a German style that is the same as VW. If you have a north american stereo, you would need an adapter, one that converts for a VW to north american should work. I still have good reception with the adapter i got.

The same problem for me. I have an Antenna adapter and the FM reception is OK, but not great and the AM reception is non-exsistant. I plugged a wire into the radio and the reception is great, so it is not an issue with the radio. Something is up with that german antenna. Any help appreciated.

I bought these keys off ebay for about ten bucks. Can you give me any information on the pinout? I'm looking to connect an amp and subwoofer which requires RCA connection (rear speaker wires?), power, accessories and a remote wire for the amp (probably via the antenna wire). Mine is an 07 Transit but it's a Visteon 6000 CD like yours. Thanks.
